I attended school at in Saint Augustine, Florida. The school—and the entire city itself—was very haunted. I definitely went in skeptical and came out a firm believer. One of the most eerie things that happened was when I was living in an apartment just at what would have been the outskirts of the city in the 1500s. I had a cat named Bellatrix that always slept by my side.

One night, I woke up because I felt somebody standing over me. I was too tired to really make sense of it, and thought I was dreaming. As a laid my head back down, I very clearly heard a young, female voice say "Hi, kitty cat". At this, I woke up fully, just in time to see Bella look up at something over the bed, close her eyes, flatten her ears and start purring as though somebody was petting her, and then laid her head back down and went to sleep. I'm pretty sure it was another month that I was able to sleep with the lights off again.
