《His Heart's Desire (Book 2 in His Heart's Series)》Chapter 17

I walked into the house and found Gail walking out of the hallway.
"Hey. Where are they?" I asked.
"The boys are napping. Olivia said she'll be upstairs."
"Alright. Thanks," I said and headed up the stairs.
I stopped by the boys' room first and found them sleeping soundly.
Then I went to our bedroom.
I opened the door slowly, not wanting to disturb Livie in case she was sleeping.
The bed was untouched.
I frowned.
Then I noticed the door that leads to the balcony was open.
I smiled.
Livie loved it out there...
I walked towards the balcony and found Livie standing there.
"Hey," I said.
She jumped. "Lucas! You scared me!"
"Sorry. Everything okay?" I asked.
She nodded. "You?"
I smiled. "Everything's okay. Ethan was shocked at first, but he warmed up after awhile. He's excited to meet the twins," I said.
"That's good to hear," she said.
I walked over to her. When I was in front of her, I reached my hand up and touched her cheek.
She looked so sad and vulnerable, it was like a knife to the chest.
She looked so fragile and...scared.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
She shook her head. "Nothing."
"Do you regret what happened this morning?" I asked.
She shook her head.
I caressed her cheek with the back of my hand.
I can't believe she's finally here. No matter how many times I told myself that I was better off without her, and that getting rid of her was the best thing for me... I could no longer lie to myself.
My life is better with Livie in it. I want her back. No matter what she did in the past, I still want to be with her.
I made some mistakes too. I worked too hard and was gone most of the time. She probably felt lonely... Alone, and neglected.
But that's all in the past. I'm always going to be here for her and our boys.
I bent forward and kissed her. I kissed her across her jaw, down to her neck.
I felt myself harden immediately.
I pulled her close to me so she can feel my arousal against her.
"God, Livie... What you do to me..."
I nudged her legs open, thanking my lucky stars, that she was wearing a floral dress.
I hoisted her up and seated her on the banister.
I pulled off her underwear, and slid all the way inside her.
We both groaned at the contact.
"Condom..." She stammered out. "You forgot again," she said.
I groaned. "Fuck. Do you want me to stop?" I asked.
"No. Don't stop Luke. Don't stop. We'll deal with it together, just don't stop," she said.
I gathered her in my arms, and carried her back into the bedroom.
We didn't make it to the bed. I pushed her up against the wall, and thrusted inside of her over and over again.
She was hot and tight around me, and I had to clench my teeth to keep myself from losing control.
"Fuck, sweetheart. You're so damn tight!"
I stroked her breast.
"You're so damn beautiful, you take my breath away," I said.
She smiled then...
My Livie's smile...
Her smile that reached my soul...
Her smile that never fails to make me feel alive...

I moved us over to the bed, and laid us both gently on the bed, without breaking our contact.
"You drive me crazy!"
She giggled.
My breath caught.
God how I missed that sound. "I have missed everything about you, Livie."
I laced our fingers together and raised them above her head, as I thrust deeper inside of her.
Our gazes locked in each other, as I move inside her at a steady rhythm at first.
Then I felt her tightened around me, and I hissed.
The sensation made me lose control. I started hammering inside of her over and over again.
"Together," I growled.
"Together," she replied. And together we reached our climax.
"How is it possible that it gets better and better every time," I said.
Livie giggled again.
"I missed hearing you giggle like that, Livie," I said.
"I missed you so damn much," I said.
She gave me a watery smile. "I missed you too," she whispered.
I kissed her and pulled her tight against me.
She nuzzled and buried her face against my neck and placed a soft and gentle kiss there.
I smiled.
I've missed her and her affection. She always had a smile for me. She was always touching me affectionately every time we're tin the same room.
She somehow always found a way to touch me or smile at me.
Her smile that always makes me feel better even when I'm having the worst day at work.
I have to make sure she never leaves me again. It's not going to be easy, but we'll get there.
I know that there was too much hurt between us, but we'll fix it somehow.
I'm willing to forget the past. She should be too. It wasn't as if, I was the one who betrayed her and our love.
But why does she carry so much hurt and anger the first time I saw her? She looked so broken and defeated... Angry...
Was it because I threw her out of my house? But what did she expect? She cheated on me.
I pushed away my thoughts. No reason to dwell on that now.
I looked down and found that Livie has fallen asleep.
I smiled.
I look over to make sure that the monitor was on, before I settled back and closed my eyes to get some much needed sleep as well.

"Hey," I answered my phone on the second ring. It was Jason.
"Hey," he greeted back. "Ethan told me the news."
"Good to know."
"He can't stop talking about how much the twins look like you," Jason said.
I chuckled. "Yes. It's eerie. I mean, it's like I'm looking in the mirror or seeing the baby version of me."
Jason laughed. "Hey, listen. Angel's been bugging me about wanting to have the girls get together, she's wondering if Olivia would like to join them?"
My eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Really? That sounds great, actually. I'll ask her and get back to you on that."
"Or... maybe Zarah can ask her, herself," he said.
"Okay. Do you want me to put her on the phone?"
"Actually... We're pulling into your drive way right now," he said
"Wow, you don't waste any time do you?"
"Yeah, we're here. When Zarah found out about Liv... I mean Olivia and the twins, she was so excited, and wouldn't stop talking about it, until I agreed to come for a visit."

I chuckled. "Well, come on in. I can't wait to show off my perfect boys to you guys."
Jason chuckled.
"Hey, no talks of the past alright. Don't mention..."
"That fuckers name, I know. Ethan filled me in. Don't worry, my lips are sealed, and I filled Zarah in too."
I shook my head. "of course you did."
"Don't worry, I didn't tell her the whole thing. Just bits and pieces."
"It's fine," I said.
"Alright we're outside your door, open it already," he chuckled.
"Ring the damn doorbell, I still have to let Livie know you're here."
"Alright, you lazy bum."
I ended the call and knocked on the bathroom door.
"Livie?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I come in?"
"Uhuh."
I opened the door and found her brushing her hair.
"Listen, Jason's here with his wife, Zarah."
Livie visibly stiffened.
"Hey don't worry. Zarah's great. Jason will be a gentleman, I swear it."
"Maybe you can just let them meet the twins, and I'll stay here..."
"Non-sense. Zarah wants to meet you too. Come on, it will be fine. You'll see," I said.
She said and stared back at me helplessly. "You sure?"
I nodded. "Promise."
She sighed. "Okay."
"Let's go get the boys. I can hear them from the monitor," I said.
I held out my hand to her, and she tentatively placed her hand in mine.
I squeezed her hand reassuringly. "Ready?"
She nodded... Then shook her head. "Not really..." She muttered.
I laughed. "It'll be fine. Let's go sweetheart."
We went to get our boys and headed back downstairs to the main room where Jason and Zarah are waiting.
"Hey, guys. Meet, Jarred, and Jaydan," I said as we walked in to the room.
"This one here, is Jarred," I said. "And that one there, is Jaydan."
"Oh my goodness, they're adorable!" Zarah exclaimed as she cooed at the babies.
"Holy shi...z. Ethan was right. They look exactly like you."
"We're being rude," Zarah said. "Hi, you must be Livie..."
"Olivia," I corrected.
Zarah raised her eyebrows, while Jason chuckled. "He's the only one allowed to call Olivia, Livie," he explained to his wife.
"Oh," Zarah giggled and rolled her eyes. "Well Olivia, It's nice to finally meet you. I'm Zarah."
Livie smiled. "Nice to meet you, as well."
"Hey Liv," Jason said, as he smirked at me.
I rolled my eyes.
Jason got used to calling Livie, Liv. At first he did it to annoy me, but after a while, it stuck, and I learned to ignore it.
"Hi, Jason," Livie greeted back with a small smile.
"It's nice to see you again," Jason said with sincerity.
"Thanks. You too."
"Can I hold him?" Zarah asked.
Livie smiled and nodded. "Sure," she said and handed Jaydan to her.
Jaydan squealed and laughed. "Hi! Aren't you just the cutest," Zarah cooed and Jaydan bent down and gave her a sloppy kiss.
"No one can resist my angel," Jason said smugly. "But, hey... Lips to yourself you flirt," he joked as he tickled Jaydan's tummy.
"Here, why don't you hold this little fella, right here. It's good practice for you," I said, handing Jarred to Jason.
"You guys are pregnant?" Livie asked.
Jason grinned. "Yeah. We're having twins too. Guess it runs in our family as well. It definitely runs on Zarah's family, but looking at these two, I guess it does on ours too, unless..." He said and looked at Livie.
Livie shook his head. "No. We don't have any twins in the family."
"Neither do we," Jason said.
"Actually we do," I said.
"We do?"
"Yeah. Remember? Grandpa's dad had a twin sister."
"Oh yeah. I totally forgot about that. Ethan better watch it. He might be next," Jason joked.
"Hey, Liv... It's okay if I call you that right? It's not Livie," Zarah said as she gave me a pointed look.
Livie chuckled. "You can call me Liv. I actually like that nickname."
"Great," Zarah said. "Anyways... I wanted to ask if you would like to join my sisters and I. We're going to the spa tomorrow and have lunch together, we would love it if you could join us."
Livie looked over to me.
"You should go with them sweetheart. It would be a nice break for you."
"But the twins..."
"Gail will watch them, and I'll be here as well."
"You're not working tomorrow?"
I smirked. "I'm the boss babe."
She laughed. "Okay. That sounds lovely. Thanks for inviting me."
"Yay," Zarah clapped her hands.
"Thank you for saying yes. That means she'll stop bugging me now," Jason joked.
"Hey!" Zarah slapped his chest playfully.
"Just kidding angel," Jason said and kissed her temple.
"I actually gotta go back to work. Do you want to stay, Angel?"
"Yeah. I'd like to get to know my new sister," she said, then looked at us, "unless you guys are doing something?"
I chuckled. "You can stay, Zar. We'd love for you to stay."
"Great."
"Alrighty then. I'll go ahead. I'll have David pick you up later. Just call me, when you're ready to go home," he said and handed Jarred back to me.
"Why don't you come back later for dinner?" Livie asked.
I looked over at her in surprise.
"Really?" Jason asked.
"Yeah. It would be great to have some company over dinner."
Jason smiled. "Alright then. I'll be back for dinner. Thanks. And it was good to see you again, Liv," he said and gave Livie a hug.
It was obvious that Livie didn't expect Jason to hug her, but she quickly recovered and hugged him back.
"See you guys later. Take care of my angel," he said and gave his wife a lingering kiss.
"Bye, you little bumpkins. Remember, lips off my angel," he said to the twins and left.
We all chuckled.
"Why don't I take the twins, and you guys go out into the patio and enjoy the sun, and get to know each other," I offered.
"That sounds great. Livie?"
"Sounds good," Livie responded.
Zarah then handed me Jaydan, and took Livie's hand.
"I'll have Rose send you guys some snack and lemonade. Gail's out on an errand."
"Thanks Lukey!" Zarah grinned.
I groaned at the name.
"Lukey?" I heard Livie ask with a giggle, as they walked off to the patio.
"Well, I guess it's just us men, again," I said to the twins.

War of Seasons
Dorothea Atlin is the young, apathetic leader of the neutral territory of Sirpo, a chilly land hovering above the continuously warring factions of Sacer and Ghuria, whose devastating magics have ravaged their people and lands time and time again. Following a shocking attack and a cruel deception, Dorothea grows her conscience and takes up arms, using her self-destructive ability to manipulate the flow of time to ensure Sacer’s victory. Her growing understanding of war and the two factions is guided by Iree Nobelis, the determined and enthralling commander of Sacer’s forces, Ariana Kingfisher, a steely swordswoman of mixed Ghurian and Sacerian descent, and Rhys Tamlin, a kind but haunted soldier who goes to challenge Dorothea’s self-imposed celibacy and join her on a mutual journey of healing from the tragic legacies of the Atlin family and wars between the nations. Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before. As their developing or preexisting loves and differing convictions on how to achieve peace create rifts between these major players, Dorothea experiences a personal revolution that leads her to fight for what she believes is right, no matter the cost. A slow-burn story that takes time setting up the psychology and motivations of characters for explosive payoff later down the line.
