The pained screams of Princess Naerys echoed through the Red Keeps of Kings Landing.
She screamed as another contraction hit her.
"Not too long now, My Princess." The Maester tried to assure her but she could breathe out just one thing.
"I want Daemon, I need him here."
As if the said Prince could have known that his beloved wife wanted him here, he burst through the door not paying attention to anyone who was trying to stop him.
"Daemon! " The princess breathe out in between the pain.
Daemon took her one hand in his and stroked her hair with other.
"It's all right, love. I'm right here."
Naerys nodded and tried not to focus on the pain and on the child that would be born after it.
"The birthing chambers are not a place for a man-" The Maester tried to reason but one glare from the Prince was enough for him to drop it and focus on the birthing Princess.
After a few more contractions, the head of the babe was visible.
"The head of the babe is beginning to show, Princess. You'll need to push now."
As soon as the words left the maester, the entire sky lit up in the light of the stars that begin to pour as water drops in the rain. Everyone looked shocked at the sight but their surprise wore out as they heared the scream of the Princess as she pushed for the first time.
The Maesters and the maids quickly began to aid the princess as Daemon whispered words of love and encouragement to his wife in order to soothe her, not once complaining about the grip of her hands that felt like it would break his hand.
After a few more push, the cries of the babe were heard as a bright light engulfed the room. The light went away as soon as it came along with the 'Shower Of Stars' that died along with the cries of the babe.
The Hand-Maids and Maester cleaned the babe and handed it over to the Princess.
"It's a girl, Your Highness." He informed.
Daemon let out a laugh of joy at the sight of his new born daughter, not one part of his, wishing for his first-born to be a son. He glanced at his wife who was looking lovingly at their daughter in her arms. His heart swelled with love at the sight. He kissed his wife softly, not wanting to hurt her after the pain she just went through.
"You did well."
"She's beautiful, our daughter." Naerys whispered.
"She is, a true dragon." He nodded as he looked at the silver-gold tuffs on her head and the beautiful lavender eyes staring at him. "What do you want to name her?"
Naerys looked at her husband, " Visenya Starborn of house Targaryen, Second of her name and Princess of Summerhall." She told him.
Daemon smiled at the name, of course his wife would name their daughter after the warrior Targaryen Queen. "A nice name for someone with dragon blood."
"Of course it is, after all it's me who chose it." Naerys replied cheekily as her eyes started dropping because of tiredness.
Daemon chuckled and took his daughter in his arms. " Rest now, love. You're tired, we can talk about how good you're at things later. Maybe you can even show me after you are healthy and back on your feet." He added with a wink.

Naerys shook her head in exasperation at her husband, but didn't protest and went to sleep. Daemon then looked towards his daughter in his arms and smiled adoringly at her.
"Welcome to the world of living, my little dragon. You're born into a world that is cruel and unkind, specially to girls, but I promise to you that I'll look after you and protect you the best I can, though I doubt you'll need it if you have the resolve and courage of your mother but I can't say that if you took after me and my abilities to find and look for trouble. But one thing is for sure, no matter who you took after or whatever you choose to be, I'll always love you, you're my daughter and that's the only thing that matters." He kissed her forehead and put her in the crib next to a dragon egg, as per the Targaryen tradition.
After one more glance at his wife and daughter he left the chambers, leaving them to rest, leaving everyone who witnessed the moment shocked, never did they thought that the Rouge Prince would have any emotions other than anger even if showed affections and love for his wife. Though Naerys who was pretending to sleep, smiled, happy that her husband's soft and loving side that was only showed towards her and to some extent their niece, was showing towards their daughter, the little thing just came to the world and it looked like she already became the light of Daemon's life.

A three namedays old Visenya was playing with her Dragon, the one she shared her crib with, in the gardens as her father's sworn sword, Ser Rodrik Dayne kept an eye on her, when a servant came and informed them that the Princess was called in her parents chambers, where they were waiting for her.
She left her dragon in the care of dragon tamers and went to meet her mother and father, Ser Rodrik following behind her. As she entered the room, she took in the looks on her father's face and frowned, it looked the same as she did when she got hurt and was about to cry. Why would her father cry?!
"Mother. Father. " Visenya called out and they smiled, but somehow it looked genuine and forced at the same time, not that the little girl would know.
"Visenya" Naerys smiled and beckoned her daughter over and made her sit on her lap. Visenya looked at her mothers face which looked pale.
"Are you sick, mother?" She asked innocently, breaking the hearts of her parents because of the information they were about to give her.
"I am, for a fact, little one. And I have very little time before I go away. " Naerys replied smiling sadly.
Visenya's eyes widened in horror and she shook her head, " Where do you have to go and Why? I want you here with me."
"I want to be with you too, but I can't do that."
"But why can't you? I don't want you to leave." She cried tears flowing freely on face.
"I don't want to leave either. But every one has to go away some time, the only thing is some go away earlier and some later ." Naerys wiped away the tears and hugged her daughter. She then pulled away and took out a necklace that she always wears. "Here, take this necklace, my father gave it to me at the time of my marriage to your father so that I never forget him. Now, I'm giving it to you so that you won't ever forget me. You won't, would you?" She asked trying to assure herself as much as her daughter.

"I won't, I promise. And I'll always keep the necklace with me."
"Good. And if you ever want to talk to me, look at the stars and say whatever you want to, I'll be with them and I can hear you."
The little dragon princess nodded and hugged her mother tightly. After some time, they pulled away.
"Why don't you go to your chambers, little dragon? I'll come and put you to sleep." Daemon suggested saying something for the first time since Visenya entered the chambers.
She nodded and left after kissing her mother's cheek, Ser Rodrik escorting her to her chambers, leaving the heart broken husband and wife alone.
As soon as Visenya went out of the hearing range, Naerys sat on the bed and broke down, all hints of smile gone from her face. Daemon sat beside her and hugged her, tears slipping away on his own face as he tried to comfort her.
"I hate to see her like this, Daemon. I hate seeing her cry. We've known for over a year that I'll die from the disease, but it doesn't hurt any less, leaving you two." She sobbed on her husband's chest, as he didn't say anything except hugging her as tight as he could without hurting, though the pain in their heart could triumph any physical pain.
After a few moments, Naerys pulled away and looked Daemon straight into the eyes, " After I'm gone you are going to have to look after our daughter and love her."
Daemon furrowed his brows. " I love and look after her even when you are here, I'm not going to stop after you go."
Naerys sighed, realising how her words sounded. " I meant that you'll have to look after her more than ever. She'll be loosing her mother and both of us know how it feels. You'll need to love her twice as much, because you'll be covering for me too. Promise me, Daemon, that you will."
Daemon nodded, " I promise." He said and sealed it with a kiss, pouring his everything into it, knowing that this will be the last time he'll get to do it. He then pulled away and pressed his lips to her forehead as they lingered there for a few moments and leaned his head against hers.
"I need to sleep now. I'm tired." Naerys sighed and laid on her bed.
"You can rest, I'm right here you until you fell asleep." Daemon said as he covered his wife with sheets and sat besides her. It didn't take much time for her to fell asleep and Daemon got up and left after pressing one last kiss to her forehead, knowing that she'll not wake up again. He wiped his eyes of any dry tears and went to find his daughter.
_____________
As Daemon entered his daughter's chambers, he saw her sitting on her bed, all curled up as she sobbed. He gave Ser Rodrik a look as if to leave them alone and not allow anyone else to enter. He went and sat beside her, making her look up.
"Father" Visenya cried and jumped in his arms.
"Shh. It's going to be alright, little one. I'm right here." Daemon assured as he caressed her head.
"Aye, but mother won't be, she's going away."
Daemon's heart broke at hearing the pain in his little daughter's voice. He sighed and made her look at him.
"Look at me, Visenya. You love your mother don't you?" He asked making Visenya nod. "Then, you should know that, the ones we love never truly leave us."
"Really?"
"Aye. They are always with us, in here." He said pointing towards her heart.
"Then I'll always have mama with me? "
"Yes, you will."
"What about you? Would you ever leave me?" Visenya asked, scared that her father will leave her.
"Not until you want me to." He promised.
"Then you're never going to leave, you'll always be with me." She said with the utmost determination a three year old could posses making her father chuckle.
"I guess, I am." He said. "Now, let's get you to sleep." He put her to bed and left after kissing her temple.
The next morning, everyone was standing near the pyre of Naerys, waiting for Daemon and Visenya to say their goodbyes. After a few moments, both of them stepped back and Daemon gave his Dragon, Caraxes, the command to lit the pyre of his wife.
"Dracarys"
The dragon let out a screech and lit up the pyre with its fire. Everyone bowed their heads, in respect of their late Princess Naerys Valareon Targaryen. From the corner of her eyes she could see her uncles Corlys and Vaemond standing with their eyes bloodshot red and looking as if they would burst out crying. One by one everyone left, leaving just Daemon, Visenya and Corlys. Corlys came towards his niece and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Come on, little one. Let's leave your father alone for a moment. You can come and see your new cousin Laena."
Visenya looked towards her father who gave her a reassuring smile and nodded. She took her uncles hand went to see her little cousin, leaving Daemon alone who stood staring at nothing, for God knows how long.
_______________
Visenya as much as she was loved by everyone else, was truly adored by her father and was given anything she wanted by him, though she knew what to ask and what not. He agreed to teach her how to wield a sword and a bow and arrow when she wished and made a promise to her that he would never force her to marry someone she didn't wish to when she got nervous after seeing her father forced to marry Lady Rhea Royce of Vale.
Though she was cunning, smart, strong headed, a dragon rider and knew how to wield a sword better than any man, Visenya was protected by the harsh realities of life by her father or by her status of being a Targaryen Princess. But war doesn't spare anyone, no matter who you are, specially if it's amongst your own blood.
What would Visenya do when she sees her one cousin fighting for throne against the other? Who would she help claiming the throne? How would she react when her father is removed as the Heir to the Iron Throne? Would she cower away or come out as the Dragon she truly is?
P.S.: What do you think should be the name of Visenya's Dragon?
