《A Teacher, A Rapist, and A Liar》Chapter 3

One drafting class, we were drawing, and he knelt down next to me. A lot of things had happened to us. Stupid things he would say. Stupid things he would do. So many of them, I can't even begin to tell you all the small details that happened daily. But one day, I was drawing and he knelt down by me. "Jenna." He whispered. I looked at him, and his face looked concerned and needy. "What's up?" I asked. "I am coming back to the school at 10:00 tonight." He said, and before I could answer, he stood up and walked to his desk. What did that mean? What did he want to do? Should I go? Luckily, that night I was staying the night with my best friend, Bailey. She had been trying her hardest to keep me in line this whole time. She refused to let me go. I begged, but there wasn't even a way. We couldn't drive. And I fought with her about going. And she wouldn't listen. I didn't go. Thankfully. Who knows what would of happened.
Another day, not long after, I went up to his desk for help. I leaned on it, and his hand was on his desk. I put my hand next to his. Our fingers tangled together, and he played with my hands. Nothing big for normal relationships, but this wasn't a normal relationship.
Another day, we had a basketball game. I knew Stout was going to be in his room late. Like 9:00 late. I escaped the basketball game, and went to his room, in the dark school. I opened the door and he was putting his stuff away. "Hey." I said. "Oh, hi Jenna." He replied, not even looking up. I walked over to his desk, and sat ontop of his desk. "Where you going in such a hurry?" I asked. "Home." He said, flatly. "Oh, well I have a question. Did you want me to bring in that tape, like tomorrow?" I asked. "Sure." He said. "What's wrong...?" I asked. He put on his jacket a few inches from me. "I have to leave now, goodnight." And he basically kicked me out. I felt rejected, and unimportant. I tried not to let it bother me. It did inside, but I let it go.

The most important drafting day of my life. We were drawing wooden blocks, and we had to get them from the cabinet. I was ahead, and was ready for the next one. The class was hard at work. I stood up, and pushed my chair in. Holding the old piece of wood I had in my hands, I walked to the blue cabinet to get a new one. I bent down, and when I stood up, and turned around, Stout was standing there. I looked at him. His face had a certain seriousness that I had never seen before. I looked at him as he was very VERY close to me. He put his hands on the cabinet, cornering me in. I was scared. He tried to kiss me. He was too close to doing it, I slipped under one of his arms and walked back to my desk. I sat there, eyes wide open, and extremely stunned. He just stood there, at the cabinet, with his arms up like they were. I looked around. Nobody saw. I had no idea what was going on. But it was going too far.

Stolen by the System
Lost. Vulnerable. Alone. What would you sacrifice to get home? Kidnapped on the cusp of graduation, Jake is dumped into a deadly world of levels and magic. His dreams shattered again, he’s left with a choice: fight or die – and Death won’t let him go that easily. A savage wolf, a horrific secret, and an abhorrent quest make day one the second worst day of his life. Whatever bastard is pulling the strings is due one hell of a reckoning. On the plus side, there’s magic, and Jake’s got the stats to master it. Spells not included, but, hey, creating spells and programming are basically the same thing, right? At least Spellcrafting is slightly less suicidal than trying to stop the encroaching dungeon spawn threat. Because why wouldn’t there be an apocalypse in progress. All the more reason to find his way back fast. Unfortunately, the path home leads right into the heart of danger. Fighting monsters, dungeon delving, solving puzzles – whatever it takes, Jake is finding his way home. He’ll need allies. Powerful allies, like a trainee ranger who struggles to find her hairbrush. Pointy ears, executive dysfunction, and a perilously gutsy moral compass – what more could one want in a Companion? Alas, beggars can’t be choosers. He needs every edge he can get. Going home means finishing his quest. That quest. The quest that doesn’t deserve completion. Save your father, save the world. Update Schedule: Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Temporarily ad hoc.
