Leanne and Sandra are sitting with a hospital consultant
Leanne looks shell shocked
Leanne - Leukaemia?
Consultant - Yes, it's a cancer of the blood
Leanne - Yes, I know what it is...
Consultant - It's important that we begin treatment straight away to improve your chances of survival
Leanne shakes her head
Leanne - I don't want treatment, I've seen how sick it can make people. My aunt had cancer. i have never forgotten how sick the treatment made her
Consultant - Miss Filson, if you're to have any chance at all of survival starting treatment as soon as possible is imperative
Leanne - I don't care, I don't want treatment and that's final
Sandra - You must have treatment, do you want to die?
Leanne - I don't care really
Sandra looks at the consultant
Sandra - She's just being silly, I'll get her to see sense don't worry about that
Consultant - The longer we put treatment off the more the disease will progress
Sandra - Yes I realise that, don't worry
Toni is in the governor's office with Bob
Bob - I'm very glad to see you back Miss Williams
Toni - Thank you
Bob - I hope you are dealing with the miscarriage ok?
Toni - A good friend made me realise life goes on
Bob - I hope you won't be intending to carry out any revenge attacks on the women?
Toni - Well Janice was the one responsible and Vera told me she isn't here anymore
Bob-No she isn't, but you might decide to take it out on the rest of the women instead?
Toni = I'm not like that Mr Moran
Bob smiles
Bob - For what it's worth I didn't think you were but I had to check
Toni - Yes I understand
Suddenly Meg bursts in without knocking, she has a shocked expression on her face
Meg - Have you heard the news?
Bob - No, what's happened?
Meg - Dwyers been shot dead
Toni and Bob look shocked
Toni - You're kidding?
Meg - He was shot outside his office block by someone on a motorbike. His wife was with him at the time
Toni - My god... I mean I never really liked the man but shot dead?
Bob - Do the rest of the staff know?
Meg - I'm not sure, I only heard it on the radio because I was on my break in the staff room
Back with Chrissie and Kath
Kath - Do you know what you put me through?
Chrissie - Yeah, nothing but relief. You wanted shot of that baby, why pretend otherwise?
Kath - I needed time to bond with her that's all. You had no right to steal her
Chrissie - I would have given her a good life, lots of love
Kath - Rubbish, you're irresponsible, a danger to any child in your care
Chrissie - How dare you to say that!
Kath - Well it's true, you threatened to jump off a balcony with her, is that really a person suitable to care for a child?
Chrissie - Yeah well that was silly, I admit that. I didn't think before I did it
Kath - You never think before you do anything, that's why you're such a danger to other people. Look what happened to your first child
Chrissie - Oh you bitch! That was Neil, not me!
Kath - But it was your own fault, you ruin everything you touch. How does it feel knowing you're to blame for Elizabeth's death Latham?
Chrissie flies at Kath across the table

Chrissie - YOU BLOODY COW!
Terry runs in and pulls her off
Kath stands up and gets into Chrissie's face
Kath - I'm glad you never had a chance to destroy my daughter Latham. Now she's back with me and her brother where she belongs and she's staying right there. Have a nice life in here with the walls
Kath walks out. Chrissie calls after her
Chrissie - You just look after her you hear me! Don't hurt her like you hurt Linda!
Terry - Shut up Latham, let's get you back to isolation shall we
Terry drags Chrissie off
Sandra and Leanne are in the car. Leanne looks puzzled
Leanne - Where are we going? This isn't the way back to the prison
Sandra - We're not going back to the prison, I'm taking you home
Leanne looks unsettled
Leanne - Home?
Sandra - Yes back to my place so we can sit down and talk
Leanne - But aren't we supposed to be going straight back to Wentworth?
Sandra - Mr Moran said we could take our time....and we do need a serious talk young lady
Leanne looks uneasy
At Wentworth Bob has the staff gathered around
Bob - I have something important to tell you all.....
...At Blackmoor Colleen has the staff gathered around
Colleen - It's about Mr Dwyer.....
....Bob - He was shot dead this morning
The staff look shocked......
.....Colleen - His wife was with him at the time, the perpetrator drove up on a motorbike
Marina looks delighted...
.....Vera speaks
Vera - What will happen now? The department will need to replace Dwyer
Bob - Yes they will, I have no idea who they plan to replace him with.....
......Marina - There will need to be a replacement
Colleen - Yes I expect the department will see to that in time. We should prepare ourselves for the investigation into his murder
Terry - Well no one will think any of us were responsible will they?.....
.....Bob - We could all be viewed as potential culprits. Anyone who had a run-in with him disagreed with him on something
Toni - I never had much to do with the man
Vera - But I did, he fired me from the position of governor twice
Bob - That could make you a potential suspect in the eyes of the law
Vera - Don't be ridiculous. I didn't kill him!
Meg - No one is saying you did Vera, but Mr Morans right, you could be regarded as a suspect.....
.....Colleen - The culprit could be here in this room for all we know
Marina - I think that's a bit much, it's more likely to be a prisoner, Joan Ferguson for example. I hear she had several run-ins with him
Bruce - Yes, she even held him, hostage
Marina - Yes exactly
Colleen - Yes and he didn't give in to your demands did he, Miss Donovan, I bet that upset you
Marina - Listen Powell I don't know just what you're implying here but.....
Colleen cuts her off
Colleen - I'm not implying anything, merely pointing it out the way the police might see it
Sandra and Leanne are at Sandra's home
Sandra - Take a seat please Jacqueline
Leanne - I really want to head back now, please?
Sandra snaps
Sandra - I said take a seat, please!
Leanne sits down
Sandra - Now then, about the Leukaemia. I hope you don't expect me to sit back and do nothing while my daughter allows herself to die?
Leanne - I'm not your daughter! This really freaks me out, why can't you understand I'm not Jacqueline?

Sandra - I don't want to lose you, darling, please
Leanne stands up
Leanne - Are you going to drive me back or shall I call a taxi?
Sandra - You're not going anywhere
Leanne tries to leave but Sandra stops her
Leanne - Please let me leave now!
Sandra - All I want you to do is agree to take treatment
Leanne - Ok so I'll agree ok?
Sandra - You're just saying that I know you don't mean it. You must think i came down with the last shower
Leanne - Can we go back now, please? I want to go back
Sandra - You really know how to hurt me, all of you know how to hurt me. You all enjoy it!
Leanne - Look Sandra, this has gone far enough now, it has to stop
Sandra hits Leanne in the face
Sandra - CALL ME MUM YOUNG LADY! IT'S ABOUT TIME YOU SHOWED YOUR MOTHER SOME RESPECT
Leanne I'M NOT YOUR DAUGHTER!
Sandra - I WON'T TOLERATE THIS LEVEL OF DISRESPECT JACQUELINE, YOU NEED TO SPEND SOME TIME IN YOUR ROOM
Sandra drags Leanne to the bedroom and flings her inside
The laundry
Lorna runs in
Lorna - Hey gals, guess what
Sonia - Yes, what?
Lorna - Shanice had the radio on in the kitchen and she heard some great news
Lorna pauses with a grin
Sonia - Well tell us then Young
Lorna - Dwyer's been murdered
The women look stunned
Sonia - You're kidding?
Lorna - No it's true I swear
Bob and Meg arrive in the doorway, they have clearly overheard
Bob - It's true, we were just coming to tell you
The women cheer with delight
Lorna - This is the best news we've had since Rita set Ferguson up!
Meg - Well before you start celebrating keep in mind that there will be an investigation and all of you could be considered suspects
Sonia - Why would any of us want to kill him?
Bob - You're all prisoners in a prison he was in charge of. That gives you a pretty good reason to have a grudge against him
Lorna - Bloody hell.....
Meg - But if you're innocent you shouldn't have anything to worry about should you
Kath is back home with Jim
Jim - Did you see Latham?
Kath -Yes and the bitch was as unrepentant as I expected her to be
Jim - I really don't know why you bothered going to see her love
Kath - I just wanted to that's all. But now I have I hope I never see her again
Jim - No reason why you should now
Kath smiles
Kath - None at all...and now I'd like to discuss something more pleasant
Jim - And what's that?
Kath - Me becoming Mrs Fletcher....when my divorce from Alan comes through of course
Jim - I like the sound of that
They kiss
At Blackmoor Terry, Bruce and Marina are in the staffroom
Terry - I wonder who did do him in?
Marina - Oh who cares, let's talk about something else
Bruce -Like what?
Marina - I don't know. anything
Terry - The mother of the child Latham snatched came to see her today, Latham didn't express a scrap of remorse
Marina - You can't expect it from scum like her
Bruce - I still say she needs teaching a lesson and I don't know about you two but I'm feeling pretty bored right now
The three of them share a smirk
The courtyard
Roo is with Joan
Roo - Heard about Dwyer?
Joan - Yes, I would say I'm sorry about it but I'm not
Roo - Doubt any of us are.....still I'd be worried if I were you
Joan - Really Morgan. well please do share with me why?
Roo - Well it stands to reason you'll be one of the prime suspects doesn't it?
Joan - And how could I kill him from in here?
Roo - You could have hired someone to do it
Joan shakes her head
Joan - I don't have a penny to my name....besides even if I did do it what do I have to be worried about now? I'm already in here for life remember? I hardly had anything left to lose anyway. if I did it I'd just admit it
Roo shrugs
Roo - True that
Roo spots Janice across the courtyard
Roo - Maybe she was behind it, she had a history with Dwyer you know
Joan looks at Janice
Janice is on her own as Kelly approaches
Kelly - Need any more sedatives from the nurse yet?
Janice - Get lost!
Kelly - You know it was almost sad seeing you like that, big strong Janice turned into a wreck by a bunch of rats
Janice - Well I seem to remember you were doing your fair share of screaming too
Kelly - Yeah but I didn't completely lose it like you did little cry baby Janice!
Janice storms away to the sound of Kelly laughing
Chrissie is lying on her bed as the door opens and three masked officers walk in. She sits up with fright
Chrissie - What is all this? What do you want?
They go for her, she struggles
One of them speaks in a muffled voice
Voice - Give it up Latham, there's one of you against three of us
Joan approaches Janice in the courtyard
Joan - I want a word with you
Janice- What about?
Joan - We're supposed to be working together remember? But so far you've not had much to offer
Janice - So give me time, I'm recovering from a traumatic experience
Joan - Yes I heard about the rats, I also heard about how you went to pieces. Showing weakness in here is a real bad move
Janice - I did not go to pieces Ferguson. Now I admit I suffered a shock but it takes more than that to take me down
Joan - I should hope so because I expect a lot from my partner
Janice- So do I, Ferguson
Joan - Have you heard about Dwyer?
Janice - Yes and it made my day
Joan - It made mine too
They share a grin
Joan - Morgan suggested you might be behind it?
Janice chuckles
Janice - Me? No, But I'd give whoever it was a medal
Chrissie is lying badly beaten in the bed as the three masked visitors leave
Chrissie - BASTARDS!
Outside Marina, Bruce and Terry take their masks off
Marina - Well that was a bit of fun to liven up an otherwise dull day,
They all laugh
Kelly is in a quiet spot with a familiar face - Neil Murray
Kelly- Did you catch one for me?
Neil hands her a bag with a grin
Neil - Of course I did...I'm an expert at catching them!
Kelly Oh it stinks!
Neil chuckles
Neil - Well its been dead a while
Kelly - Excellent
Neil - What are you planning to do with it?
Kelly - That's my business
At Wentworth Toni and Vera are in the staffroom
Toni - Are we still on for tonight?
Vera - Yes of course we are, I don't go back on a promise
Toni - I know we're going to have a great night Vera. I'll get you into hard rock if it's the last thing I ever do!
Colleen arrives at Chrissie's isolation cell
Colleen - Chrissie I thought I'd come and check...
Colleen stops in shock
Colleen - What on earth happened to you? Who did this?
Chrissie - They were in screws uniforms
Colleen -Who were they?
Chrissie - I don't know, they wore masks...there were three of them
Colleen - Three?
Chrissie - Yeah
Colleen - And you're really sure you didn't see who they were?
Chrissie - They wore masks I told you that. All I know is they were wearing screws uniforms so they must have been bleeding screws mustn't they
Colleen - Come on, let's get you to the infirmary
Colleen helps Chrissie off the bed
Toni is with Bob
Toni - Mr Moran, I thought I'd better inform you, there is still no sign of Mrs Clements or Leanne
Bob looks at his watch
Bob- They should have been back by now
Toni - I know, that's why I thought I had better inform you. What shall we do?
Bob - Leave it a while longer I say, no point panicking just yet, I'm sure they are just caught in traffic or something
Janice arrives at her cell and pulls her bed covers back, she screams in shock and backs away. There is a dead rat in her bed
Sandra is sitting drinking whisky and apparently deep in thought as Leanne bangs at the door
Leanne - LET ME OUT SANDRA, PLEASE!
GATESLAM
PART 2
The dining room
Bea is sat playing with her food as Judy joins her
Judy - Shocking news about Dwyer eh
Bea (disinterested) - Yeah
Judy - I wonder who did him in?
Bea - Oh who cares
Judy - Yeah....well I wonder who they will get to replace him
Bea - Probably the same sort of bastard in a smart suit, just with a different name
Judy - Listen, Bea, you know Stevens took over as top dog don't you?
Bea - Yeah I did hear
Judy - Well it doesn't bother you?
Bea - I'll admit she wouldn't have been my choice but the women voted her in, not much i can do about it
Judy - You could take back the job, it's where you belong you know that
Bea (angry)- Either we change the subject right now or I'm moving to a different table, got it?
Judy - Sure, relax will ya
They sit in awkward silence for a moment, Judy seems to be treading on eggshells, unable to decide what to say next
Judy - Shirley lost out to Sonia and asked to go to C block
Bea - We never exactly made friends so i won't miss her
Judy - No but she'd have been a better choice than Stevens, anyone would be
Bea is furious
Bea - RIGHT THAT DOES IT, I WARNED YOU JUDE!
Bea gets up and marches off
Judy calls after her
Judy - Come on love, I was only saying...
Bea has gone
Judy shakes her head in despair and continues with her lunch
Sonia is with Bob in the governor's office
Bob - I wanted to see you because I have been informed that you are the new top dog, is that correct Stevens?
Sonia - Yes it is Mr Moran
Bob gives Sonia a serious look
Bob - I do hope you won't be out to cause trouble here Steven's. I am aware that Smith and yourself have a history
Sonia - That's all ancient history now, I don't plan to drag it back up again. I can't speak for Smith though of course. The fact is simply Smith stepped down and Wentworth needs a new top dog. The women voted for me and that's that
Bob - And what about Harris's claims that she was being bullied? Can you shed any light on that?
Sonia - No I can't.i'm sorry. But she's on c block now so that appears to solve that problem, wouldn't you say?
Leanne bangs at the bedroom door
Leanne - Let me out Sandra, please!
Sandra unlocks the door and walks into the room
Sandra - I will not let you out until you call me mum, do you understand that Jacqueline?
Leanne nods her head
Leanne - Yes mum, I'm sorry
Sandra smiles
Sandra - Good girl....now I was thinking wouldn't it be nice if you didn't have to go back to that awful prison? It breaks my heart to see you in that place
Leanne - But I have to go back? Right now, in fact, we really should leave now
Sandra - No, that place makes you sick, I'd rather you didn't go back
Leanne - But I have to eventually?
Sandra - I disagree, I want you to stay here with me where you belong...would you like that Jackie?
Leanne looks uncomfortable
Leanne - Yes I'd love it, but won't you get into trouble?
Sandra shakes her head
Sandra - It will all come out in the wash as my mother used to say..now let's take a drive shall we
Leanne - Where to?
Sandra - You'll find out in good time.....
......Sandra and Leanne are getting in the car
Leanne - Look Sandra.....er mum...I'm still not sure this is such a good idea. I wouldn't want to see you get into any trouble
Sandra - You worry too much that's your problem. Let's just concentrate on getting you hidden away safely for now
Sandra starts the engine and pulls away
Meg is with Bob
Meg - They are still not back
Bob looks deeply concerned
Bob- They definitely should be back by now
Meg - Do you think something's happened to them?
Bob - I hope not
Bob picks up the phone
Bob - I'd best inform the authorities, we've left it long enough

Friendly Neighborhood Necromancer
To be taken to another world; isn't that the kind of thing that nearly everyone wishes for once in their life? To use their savvy knowledge of how things usually go in that situation to take advantage, and lead a life where they are the center and in control of their destiny. But in the stories, the one who is brought ends up with a grand power to help them through. Here, a man is brought to a foreign world as his new character in the VRMRPG, Underworld of Armok, at Level 1. In safety there are few benefits, only by taking risks far beyond his level could one proceed. Transported to another world, he wishes to do good and be a hero. Accumulating power to help the less fortunate. There's just one caveat; he's a Necromancer, and his greatest source of strength will probably get him lynched.Quick DescriptionAnother video game/isekai novel. Unfortunately, the MC has crossed over during character creation of a Necromancer and is Level 1. He also lacks the ever so helpful status window.Fair warning, the Friendly Villager Necromancer arc(1) is slow. He does not want to run out into the dangerous world to get killed right after arriving. Sucks to be Level 1, eh? Git gud scrub. It's basically a Slice of Life from his perspective. The Thread, in case you get a bit confused about people/places. [16+] Now probably! For strong language and violence! And anthropophagy and lewd intimations! And stupid jokes and obscure references! And philosophical ditherings and a slow pace! Make peace with the absurd, and come to terms with the terrible!

Blood Seekers -- The Monolith
Blood Seekers - Book 1, is now on Amazon, including the final chapters not posted here! https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B07MYJ5ZRC “You will die!” That's what the developers of Blood Seekers promised them... The most challenging MMO ever created—that’s how they advertised it. Taglines like, “Not your granddaddy’s game,” and, “Only for the hardest of the hardcore,” had gamers going crazy. Set in a gothic, Lovecraftian world, with fully realized A.I. NPCS, gamers were desperate to get their hands on the new game and dive in, and Clay was one of them. It was going to be tough, but he was ready for it. What he wasn’t ready for, was countless players having their minds hijacked and being transformed into mindless, hostile creatures filled with nothing but hate who killed anyone on sight. They called them the Bloodless. Clay’s best and only friend, Rey, moved across the country she was twelve, but they kept in touch online, playing countless games together, and when Blood Seekers was released, they were both ready to step up to the plate and face the new challenge together. But now, Rey has been taken by the plague, her mind held hostage as one of the Bloodless. A mysterious black monolith has appeared at the center of the highest level zone in the game, a place no one has even come close to. Some say it will provide us with answers. Others say it will only lead to more questions. Who’s behind all this? Why are people’s minds being taken? Will we ever get to bring them back? How many more will be lost if we stay logged in? Nothing is certain, but if there’s any chance that reaching the monolith will bring Rey back back, then Clay will do everything he can to reach it. This is Book 1 in a new series from Stephen Roark! I will be posting chapters here until the book is done and published on Amazon!

Living With Magic
Arthur, a young magician, is struggling with crippling social anxiety. The issue has reached a point where he likely won't graduate from University. Reaching a crossroads, he must decide whether to try and return to a family he despises or make his own path in the world. Is the magical power he has actually beneficial in the real world? Authors Note: I'm terrible at writing a synopsis, but over time I hope to write a better one. One of my favorite series of books is the Magicians by Lev Grossman and I hope to follow that same line of thinking within my story. How would a society built around magic actually exist and is power and magic actually as great as other stories make it out to be? The story and characters will be completely original and I will try to update the story on a regular basis. Also, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
