Sandra is standing in the dining room doorway as Pixie arrives in the room

Pixie- Good morning Mrs Clements, how are you today?

Sandra - Pardon?

Pixie - I said good morning, how are you today?

Sandra - Just get your breakfast and sit down, come on hurry up Mason!

Pixie - Oh well I was only being friendly, really there is no need to be so rude!

Sandra - Do you want to be put on report Mason?

Pixie shakes her head

Sandra - Then get your breakfast and sit down and shut up

Pixie walks over to get her breakfast and then joins Bea, Judy, and Cassie

Pixie - That Mrs Clements is so rude, really!

Bea - Makes you wish she wasn't around any more right Pix?

Meg and Kath are tied and gagged as Peter arrives in the room and sits beside Meg

Peter - Good morning Meg, good sleep?

Meg shakes her head while crying

Peter - You know I was thinking, it would be good to get together again, you know like we did that time? I really enjoyed myself with you. You were pretty good, I would love to do it again

Meg is in distress

Peter - I'm sure Mr Renner wouldn't mind!

Peter turns to Kath and strokes her face

Geoff is in the doorway

Peter turns around surprised

Bea is on the press as Sandra arrives in the doorway

Pixie- I am most awfully sorry if I annoyed you in the dining room earlier

Jim hangs up and turns to Cheryl and Bob

Jim - That son of a bitch! If I could get my hands on him I'd kill him!

Bob - What did he say?

Jim - He wants money, lots of it

Cheryl - How much?

Jim - 100 thousand

Cheryl - Bloody hell....where would you get that sort of money from?

Jim - I have no idea

Bob - I can help you get it together

Cheryl - I can help a bit too....but I really think we need to get the cops involved

Jim - No way, Geoff said he will kill them if we do and he means it

Cheryl - There are ways to do it so that we are careful and he won't find out. Meeting the police in secret locations and things like that

Jim - No cops, that is final. I can't risk it

Bob - I agree with Jim, we need to handle this ourselves

Bob - We all want her back safe and we will do it....we'll give Butler his money and Kath will be fine

Sandra is in the governor's office with Toni, Janice, and the rest of the staff

Sandra - Mr Moran called a short while ago to inform me he is going to be taking some time off, as deputy governor I am now acting governor...ok that was all, you may all go now

The officers begin to leave but Toni and Janice hang back

Sandra - Do you two want something?

Janice - Yes, a word...

Toni - I just wanted to congratulate you on getting the acting governor

Sandra - Cheers Tone!

She looks at Janice

Sandra - And what about you? Do you want to congratulate me too?

Janice - No, certainly not!

Sandra - So what then?

Janice - I am curious about Mr Moran, that's all....he has taken time off?

Sandra - Yes that's correct

Janice - Did he say what for?

Sandra - He has to deal with some sort of personal crisis he said...he also said he has no idea when he will be back

Janice - But he will be back? I mean that cow of a mother of mine hasn't fired him, has she?

Sandra - No sadly not, I wish she had. But no, he said he had to take time off and he will be back at some point

Janice - Interesting...

Sandra - So for the time being I am back where I belong, in this chair!

Janice - Yes well little point getting too cozy there is there! Mr. Moran will be back remember?

Sandra - It doesn't stop me from enjoying a bit of practice ready for when I eventually return for good and I will soon enough

Janice - How can you be so sure of that?

Sandra - Because your mother likes me and she wants me back in this chair, we discussed it over a most pleasant lunch together some weeks ago

Janice looks bitter and resentful

Janice storms out of the office

Toni - Must you antagonize her like that?

Sandra - Yes, why not?

Toni - I don't see a need for it that's all

Sandra - She enjoys antagonizing me too in case you missed that

Toni - Doesn't mean you have to respond to it does it

Sandra - Oh well, I would rather discuss your new kitchen now. I am more than happy to pay for it and get it done for you as soon as possible

Toni - I am happy with the current kitchen

Sandra - How can you be? It looks so tatty and old-fashioned!

Bob and Jim are alone in the garden

Jim - Where will we get the money from?

Bob - We won't need any money, not if what I have in mind works

Bob - I mean we launch our own rescue mission. Butler doesn't know about me, does he?

Bob - I follow him, see where he goes. Then once I'm behind enemy lines I can subdue him and rescue Kath and Meg

Cheryl is inside trying to comfort Scott as he cries

The doorbell rings

Cheryl goes to answer to find Vera at the door

Vera - Hello Gibson. I need to speak to Jim or Kath please if they are there

Vera - Meg has gone missing and I need to ask them if they have seen her or have any idea where she is

Sandra has changed into a suit as she arrives back at the laundry looking smug

Sandra - Attention please ladies!

They all look

Sandra - I came to inform you all that Mr Moran is taking some time off and so I will be stepping in as acting governor in his absence

No one looks thrilled

Sandra - Yes I can see how pleased you all are!....well ladies I have something else to tell you that will make your day even more! Sooner or later I will be back in that chair for good

Sandra looks at Bea with a smirk

Sandra - So I suggest you all get used to that idea

Bea gives Sandra a look of contempt

Sandra - Now does anyone have anything they would like to say?

Pixie - I would like to say congratulations! I am sure you will be an excellent acting governor

Vera is angry

Bea - We'll start by telling the women to ignore Clements, when she talks to us, when she gives orders we'll just ignore her, undermine her

Vera - I had to take care of some business, I'm sorry
