STILES
Beacon Hills Memorial
I watch Daniel sleep as he lays in the hospital bed with his hospital gown. I sigh, breathing heavy as I'm nervous. I haven't been this worried in so long. It's been almost a year since we had trouble.
I can't believe he's back. I can help him this time. I won't fail him this time.
"Stiles." I hear Lydia's voice as the door opens and I feel her hand lay on my shoulder. I lay my hand on her hand and then pull out my wallet taking out an old polaroid of me and Chris when things were normal. Before Killer Frost, when things were fine. They weren't perfect but they were fine.
Lydia then walks towards Daniel and lays her hand over his forehead reading him. She bites her lips nervously knowing things that we won't know. She knows the future now, only hints.
"Did you know?" I ask her and she nods slowly. She turns towards me crossing her arms as she's dressed different than she looked a year ago. She's someone different, a whole new person since Killer Frost.
"I always knew," She says and sighs. This is harder on her than it is for me. "I knew it before it even happened." I say as she reveals this to me. I look at her closely, I've been blaming myself for all this when she knew about Chris turning to Killer Frost.
"Why didn't you tell me?! If you knew all along why didn't you tell us! We could've saved him." I say as she's been distant since that day Chris escaped from Eichen.
"Because I thought I could change the future!" She shouts aggressively. "I thought that if I had these psychic powers then I could change the way things happen." She says softly being disappointed at herself. Suddenly I feel guilty for raising my voice at her and sigh.

"We can still save Chris. He's in there." I say having hope. She shakes her head and looks at me. "He's lost."
"There's this vision I keep having of me and Chris, Killer Frost. We fight in this snowy dark forest and each night, I see more of that vision. He throws an icicle and I scream, it's this nonstop battle between us..." She pauses and as she does she closes her eyes. "He kills me." She says and her voice breaks with a tear slipping from her eyes. It makes sense of why she's been distant and training so hard.
"So that's why you've been preparing yourself for him... Because you think that night is coming." I say summarizing her story and she nods. It must be hard for her to know that her best friend is going to kill her, freeze her to death.
"I know it's coming. It just might be sooner than we think."
"We can stop him. If we work together we can." I say getting up from the chair and walking towards her to give her comfort.
"It's meant to happen Stiles. Some things we can't change." Lydia says and then her phone buzzes in her pocket. "I have to go. Parrish needs me." She says and I nod, she walks off without a goodbye leaving me alone.
I sit back down on the chair next to Daniel's bed and hold his hand making sure he stays warm since his body temperature is low. I rub his hand and then hold it close to my mouth kissing it hoping he's not hurt.
"I won't let him hurt you again." I tell him and he doesn't respond as he is still asleep. I hold his hand against my cheek and then I feel his fingers move as his body temperature gets higher on the monitor. He's back.

I lay my hand on his forehead as his body temperature rises back up. He opens his eyes and then he looks around. He finds me and smiles lightly. "Stiles." He says lightly and rises up lightly and he feels his shoulder and groans loudly.
I chuckle at him lightly and smile. "Take it easy, it's going to hurt for awhile." I say forcing him back down to make him rest. He smiles at me and holds my hand tight as I have to care for Daniel more than I cared for Chris. It's my fault, I gave up on him. I won't make that mistake with Daniel, I'm going to be here for him, always.
I'll always love Chris. He'll always be the sweet, smart, and loving man I've ever met in my life.
"You have that face again." I hear his voice breaking my thoughts and memories of Chris. I look at him and raise an eyebrow. "Back at the garden, who was he?" He asks and I stare at him pausing with no reaction thinking to myself disappointed.
"Someone I thought I knew."
