《The Beginning of the Age of Heroes》Chapter 14

A few days later Barry and Kara decided that they would take a walk so that they could talk and get closer being that they had worked out their differences, but still knew that they had something to work on. While they were starting to love each other they needed to make sure that it was what they wanted before they got too deep in the relationship. The two heroes were learning that they were the only ones for each other, so they were about to make it official like Oliver and Laurel had. When they made it to the beach they saw something that surprised them. There was a ship in the distance that looked like it was coming towards the island.
"What do you think that ship would be coming here for?" Barry asked.
"My parents might have sent someone looking at all the islands in this area to find us. Only one way to find out." Kara said as she took off into the sky and landed on the boat and used her superspeed to speed through the ship looking to make sure these people were here for them. She found out that was not the case when she saw that people were being kept captive and used for experiments.
Kara left the boat and flew back to the island. "They definitely are not here to help us. They have people on the ship that they are experimenting on." Kara said.
"Good to know. Let's go tell the other so that everyone is ready to fight when the time comes." Barry said as they both sped back to camp.
When Barry and Kara got to the camp the others could tell that something was wrong. The other approached Barry and Kara cautiously and made sure that they were ok.

"What's wrong? You look like you have seen something that is bad." Oliver said.
"We did. There is a ship coming toward the island." Kara said.
"Well, that doesn't seem so bad. We might finally be able to leave this place." Slade said.
"I don't think so. From what I saw, it looks like it could be dangerous." Kara said.
Oliver grabbed Kara's arm and took her off to the side. "So, what did you really see?"
"The ship had people that were being experimented on it. This is definitely not the ship that the League of Assassins will be using." Kara said.
"So, there are people on this ship that could be in trouble. We should probably help them." Oliver said.
"I am sure the time will come for that Oliver, but for right now, I think we need to be ready to fight. I think they might be coming for that serum that Barry and Thea found the other day." Kara said.
"Well, in that case they will have to go through us first." Oliver said and Kara nodded in agreement and then went to join the rest of the group.
"So, what was that about, Kid?" Slade asked.
"Kara was just telling me what she saw, and I think that it is probably best that we stay away from that ship for a while." Oliver said.
"That's bullshit, kid. I am going to get off of this island, whatever it takes. You kids can stay here if you want though." Slade said.
"I think you should listen to Kara, Slade. I don't think she would lie about something like this." Laurel said, since she knew that Kara probably checked out the ship to make sure that it was ok.

"Yeah, I don't think Barry and Kara would look so scared if there wasn't something to worry about." Sara said, thinking the same way that Laurel was.
"You do what you want to do. I am going to get on that ship. I don't want to be here anymore." Slade said as he left the group. Yeo Fei and Shado stayed behind with the future heroes.
. . .
Slade made it down to the beach where he could now see the ship and he set the fire so that the ship could see that someone was on the island that needed to be rescued. He saw that the ship was coming toward the island anyway. The ship anchored and let boats down into the water so that the passengers could come to land. When they got to land and man walked up to Slade and introduced himself.
"My name is Anthony Ivo. I will help you out if you help me out." Ivo said.
"What is it that you need help with?" Slade asked.
"I have been checking all of the islands in this area for a serum that will give people impossible strength and even has regenerative powers. If you help me find it, I will make sure you get off this island." Ivo said.
"I know where we might be able to find what you are looking for." Slade said.
"Well, then lead the way." Ivo said and Slade started to lead the men to their camp. Little did they know that Kara had been listening the whole time with her super hearing.
. . .
"So, what did you find out?" Oliver asked Kara quietly.
"Looks like Slade is only in this for himself. He is leading the men here now for the serum so that he can get off the island." Kara said.
"Not surprising. So, what do you think we should do?" Laurel asked.
"I think we should hide the serum and maybe we should even hide ourselves for now and see what the people do. Slade obviously has no loyalty. If it comes down to it, we will take him down with the rest of them if we have to." Oliver said.
"Do you think we can though? It is not like we can use our powers openly." Thea said.
"I will do whatever it takes to keep us safe, so if that means I have to use my powers discreetly, I will." Oliver said and the other nodded and they decided to go and tell Shado and Yeo Fei the plan.
Shado and Yeo Fei agreed with the plan although they didn't like going up against their friend, but they knew if it was the only way to survive, that is what they would do.

The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)
