Enjoy!!
--------------------------------------------------------------
He sat from the comfort of the shadows, waiting through the brush of the thick forest that hid him from view, he had such a perfect view into that big, pretty french bay window in her bedroom. She kept the curtains open tonight, much to his delight. He hummed softly to himself, propping the clothed chin on his gloved knuckles.
He was growing impatient. He checked his watch, she was supposed to be home 18 minutes ago. Six weeks of
stalking her every move and schedule should have provided a guaranteed window of opportunity for his move. Why is she late? He looked up to see the shadow of a cat hop onto its perch by the window and meet his stare. As much as he disliked animals, he particularly hated cats. They were too intuitive, they always knew when he was here. He scoffed as it blinked at him
"You'll make a pretty new scarf." He growled to himself, watching the cat.
It hopped off the tree, and ran out of the room. He settled back as a faint light shone from the front of the house.
He grinned to himself in delight, adjusting his mask.
Showtime.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I sat in my car after I pulled into my driveway, i didn't want to go in yet. I had to think.
Marie and Joseph. My, now, ex, and my sister. I clenched the steering wheel till my knuckles turned white. I laughed to myself, of course that spoiled little bitch sister of mine would do this to me.
I knew i should've killed her as an infant.
I gritted my teeth together, debating on if i still could. I could get away with it much easier now. I tapped my thumb against the hard black leather of the arch for the horn of my SUV, sucking my teeth as i considered.
No. I have a motive. As soon as the police find that out, I'm suspect number one. I'll have to wait. I looked to the passengers seat where my phone sat. Joseph had been blowing up my phone, so i picked it up and scrolled through his messages, expecting some pathetic excuse or attempt to beg for forgiveness.
======================
(), can we talk about this?|
======================
========================
(), I'm sorry! I was drinking.|
========================
=================================
I confused her for you! I swear i wouldn't have done anything if i knew it wasn't you!
=================================
================
() answer me now!|
================
=================================
If you dont answer me I'll just do it again.
=================================
I scoffed at the messages, how dare he think he can cheat on me and then demand my attention? Then a thought came to mind..

If he wants it so bad, I'll give it to him. I thought.
I'm gonna kill him, then my sister. And they will never be found.
I took in a deep breath and looked at the clock. I'd been debating for almost 20 minutes. I shut my car off and hopped out, the cold air made my hot skin shiver in the concrete garage. I locked the car and rushed inside absently. Turning on the main light in my kitchen summoned my sweet cat, Suzie.
"Hey Suz." I smiled, this little cat was the only thing on earth that made my day better. I scooped her up as she meowed at me, she pawed at my face and meowed in alarm.
"Relax, Suz, I'm fine. I'm just upset.." I said, carrying her through the house and up the hall to my office. I took a moment to brace myself for the rush of adrenaline that came with entering this room as the door easily swung open before me. I stepped inside, leaving the door ajar behind me. Suzie jumped from my arms as i sat at the large mahogany desk, the leather swivel desk chair creaked under my weight as i rocked back and forth. I sucked on the inside of my cheek, how should i go about this?
Fire? No. Too hard to convince as a real accident. Plus I might kill Joseph before i get to him if he's at her house.
Cut the carbon monoxide cord in the house? Too obvious to foul play.
I hummed to myself. How can i do this discreetly?
Maybe I should just say fuck it and kidnap her?
A light bulb went off in my head.
Her morning run. She runs the trails along the canyon. Maybe i should join her and give her a little....push.
A wicked grin stretched across my face, the canyons in the valley she runs are super steep. It wouldn't be unheard of if she were to slip and fall to her death. I say up and flipped open my laptop to scroll through my social media. The smile faded as i began scanning the main facebook page showed me Marie's new "in a relationship" status. I felt my eye twitch.
Those pieces of shit.
I gritted my teeth and slammed the laptop closed. Nevermind on that. I stood up and went into the living room, Suzie was yowling quietly in a corner at the stairway. I heard the quiet creak of the floor shifting upstairs.
Someone was in my house with me.
This is why i love cats. They're so intuitive and smart.
I quietly went back into my office and shut the door as close to the frame as i could get it. I took in a deep breath as i braced myself. I wanted to kill someone, but not some random burglar in my own home. I went to the closet and opened it with a tiny creak, retrieving the duffel bag from inside. I may have to hide this after tonight.

I unzipped the bag to reveal an array of tools. From a shiny new bone saw to an assortment of meat knives. I moved the thick roll of plastic wrap and duct tape to the side to pull my baby wrapped in velvet linen out of the bottom of the bag. A rush of excitement and anticipation shot through my hands as i thumbed the wrapping off the large silver-handled hunter's knife. This one was for special occasions, but i'll make an exception for tonight. I took the thick leather gloves from the inside pocket and slipped them on, can't be losing my grip.
I kicked the bag back into the closet and closed it back, taking the knife and stomping upstairs. This fucker chose the wrong house tonight.
I peered down the hallway, hoping to catch a glimpse of the intruder. Nothing. The predatory instincts within me were on edge as i slipped off my shoes at the top of the stairs, quieting my approach to my bedroom, i pushed the door with the tips of my fingers, the door before me creaked open with a low growl and shuddered against the hinges. I could see the shadow of a person standing on the other side of the room around the corner, by my bed. I angled the knife to be hidden behind my leg as i came into the room, my eyes never leaving the person in the corner.
"That's a first." He said playfully.
"What, that i knew you were here before i even came upstairs?" I asked, taling my stand on the other corner of the room opposite him, by my tall floor lamp.
"No, that you came up here armed. If i didn't know any better I'd say you were a predator like me." He chuckled to himself. I couldn't help join his laugh.
"A predator, huh? That's what you call it? My therapist just called me a sociopath." I said, flipping on the light. I looked to his face to be greeted by a cheap horror of a mask. It was like one of those drama masks but it had been stretched and melted like taffy to deform it, he wore a tight fitted black and grey jacket with various straps and buttons that hugged his slender frame. He shifted his weight silently on his hip as he stared me down. He wore gloves just like mine. I know what these gloves work best for. And this guy was everywhere in the news for killing people all over town.
"Judging by that look in your eye, I'd say they were right. I agree. You have that predatory look. Oh, this's exciting." He giggled like a kid in a candy store as he stepped from around my bed, i brought the knife up to my chin, tapping the flat end of the blade to my skin. I shrugged, matching his pace to keep the distance of the room between us. He tilted his head at me, our eye contact never broke.
"I guess you're right. I was just downstairs planning on how to get revenge on my sister and cheating ex of a boyfriend. I think i know what i want to do with my sister, but the man is the problem." I took a moment to bite on the tip of my knife, running my teeth along the cold steel as i started thinking about it again. I was jolted from my thought by the intruder laughing at me.
I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Well...this is unexpected. I just wanted to see your pretty little guts all over the place, but now..." he trailed off, humming to himself and ending with a little chuckle.
"Well even if you tried, I'm not afraid to attempt to kill you, too. Won't be the first blood on my hands." He nodded to himself.
"I can tell, dollface."
"So how do you wanna play this out?" I asked as he took a few steps towards me.
"I just want to do one thing...then I'll leave." He said almost giddily, i adjusted the grip on my knife.
"No need for that, dollface...I think i find you too interesting to kill...for now." He growled as he came within a couple feet of me. He snaked his arm around my back, pulling my body flush against his as he held the wrist with my knife away from him. He slipped the knife out of my grip along with my glove, taking my finger and slicing the blade over the skin of my palm, opening the flesh. I winced as he carefully carved into my skin.
When he was done he laughed darkly to himself, and planted the knife back in my hand, patting my fingers closed around the handle as the blood dripped into the ornate silver design.
That was going to take forever to clean.
He looked at me, tilting his head slightly.
"Be seeing you, dollface." He said, releasing me with a gentle brush of the back of his finger against my cheek. I scoffed, watching him walk out the door. I blinked in confusion and looked at my palm, i tossed my knife on the floor and wiped the blood off on my pant leg, the smeared blood made it hard to make out, but there in my flesh, was a neatly cut pair of initials.
G F.
Ghostface.
