《A helping hand (American Dragon: Jake Long Fic)》Ch. 9

He turned to see a sea male. Hair bright with black stripes. Their eyes sharp with black sclera. They smiled at him for a bit before Jake grew impatient.
"Well help me!"
Jake coughed as he forgot he was underwater and the boy began to help. He blew a bubble from his mouth and it was the size of jakes head. He put it on jakes head and Jake took in a desperate breath. He started to cough a bit before turning to the boy.
"You sure took your time!"
The boy smiled sheepishly as they swiped the net off of Jake.
"Couldn't help but watch you struggle. It was hot."
Jake paused before turning to the now sea Marc.
"Woah, I didn't realize, you know what, I'm just stupid."
Marc paused as he turned to Jake a bit hesitantly.
"Do you like it?"
Jake smiled easily.
"If scales threw me off wouldn't that be hypocritical? Plus I'm liking you shirtless. Are those marks still there when you're human?"
Marc smiled back eagerly and laughed at that remark.
"Yeah, now lets get you above water. That bubble isn't going to last forever."
Jake stopped Marc from going any further.
"We have to make sure that they're gone. Can you check from under the dock?"
Marc saluted him mockingly and Jake was able to flip him off before he went to check. Marc used his natural night vision and couldn't see or detect the two from before. Marc swam back to Jake.
"No signs of them, any way you can get help? Your powers are down and I'm strongest in water."
Jake nodded, he's going to have to bring in his friends. Lynn was probably busy by now and Nigel was busy with what ever. When they reached land Jake called rose.

"Hey Rose, think you can get the rest of the gang to meet me at the docks."
Rose easily complied but asked about the meeting.
"So, did you romanced a celebrity or what?"
She asked as soon as they got there in person. Rose changed her huntsgirl outfit to something less threatening. It was all black but had pink accents for braces.
"I don't know, did he?"
Marc asked still in his original form. Trixie raised an eyebrow at him.
"Jakie who's this?"
Jake turned to Marc who shrugged.
"If the American dragon trusts them, then so can I. Not like it matters, if they spill, it will be taken care of."
Marc transformed back in a swirl of water and bubbles. He was back to his human form before trixie gasped.
"So you pulling some little mermaid shit?"
Marc sputtered and had to hold onto jakes shoulders as he died.
"Oh! Oh god, no but do I wish. I'd love to be Ariel, Jake is a total Eric."
Rose nodded, she could see it.
"So what's the plan Jake?"
Jake nodded and they headed to the previous location of Pandarus.
"Think we can find anything from all this to track down Pandarus?"
Jake asked their best tracker. Rose looked around and then found something of interest.
"Jake, look at all these boxes and crates. Some of them look suspicious."
Jake easily tore one open and inside it made Marc's stomach curl. It was fins, fins of sea hybrids. Jake was confused but Rose looked sad.
"These, these are sea hybrid fins, they are worth a lot and can be used to do many high level magic."
Marc stepped forward and grabbed one. He held it tightly and felt a tear go down his face.

"..this one couldn't have been much older than 3.."
Jake's eyes hardened and he gave a squeeze with his tail as he turned to his friends. Rose winced but turned to Jake.
"Good thing they're rare and hard to come by. Leaves us with only one place to check. An auction at the dark theatre."
Marc stepped forward eyes hard.
"Take us now."
Jake put a hand on Marc's shoulder.
"We can't rush into this, we need a plan. A good one. Rose what usually goes on during this stuff and how can we blend in."
Rose easily filled them in and gave them all the information she had. Marc nodded and said some chrills and chirps before his necklace glowed and he was dressed in a dark dress his hair longer but pushed to the side. He wore dark makeup and looked like a fancy braud who couldn't give less of a damn. Jake was about to drool but spud's curiosity brought him out of it.
"How you do that?"
Marc held his necklace for show.
"It's a sea charm, I can appear whatever is appealing and we so happen need a more..dark look."
Jake raised an eyebrow, the outfit looked too planned for it to be random. Marc coughed and mumbled under his breath so only Jake could hear.
"Those women are cold and deserve terrible fates, but they have impeccable taste in clothing.."
Their plan was to sneak Marc in so he can give the rest of them access around the place. Once in he'd use his 'persuasion' to get anywhere. Including the roof ducts that let the rest of their group in. Once inside Jake would stay in back stage and rose would be in the rafters keeping an eye out. Trixie and Spud were disguised as waiters and Marc would be their bait. It was easy enough to get everyone in position but Marc had to put his acting to a test. Pandarus was hard to find and Marc had to push down all his anger to attract the man. The man brought him back stage to one crate.
"See, I'm in possession of some rare sea hybrid fins. I'm selling them at the auction you see, maybe afterwards you wouldn't mind coming with me to a more..private setting."
Marc smiled coldly but began to ask questions. He was hooked up with Spud's tech.
"Maybe, but how did you even get these? With how rare these are to get, even a man of your prowess couldn't just magic a spell that could get all of this."
Pandarus stared at Marc a bit wary.
"Rather specific question.."
Marc smiled disarmingly.
"Well I'm a lady of class, and it's just a simple question. My father could also benefit with more suppliers."
Pandarus quickly was too eager to get money.
"Why, if that was all, I did work with someone on acquiring this. He doesn't really work for money but I can get him to help your father with ease. Of course with a price."
Marc smiled.
"That will be discussed with him of course, I may put in a good word for you."
Pandarus smiled greedily.
"Good, as for my associate maybe I can find him and talk this over. He should be in the back."
