《Pantala High School》Sundew 5

There were too many questions plaguing Sundew's head.
When would Belladonna or Hemlock find out she was gone?
Where am I going to stay?
When can I meet Willow against?
Cricket suggested her house, at least for now. Her mom was going to be gone for a few days and her sister was staying at her grandmother's place. It was an empty house.
The three of them sat in Cricket's room, brain storming ideas.
"It is Saturday, you could stay with me over the weekend." Cricket said. "Then you wouldn't miss school. And they wouldn't be able to just, catch you at school, because you're not at school."
"That might be the best option right now." Sundew sighed. "It's better then being grounded that's for sure."
"I like your room, Cricket." Blue said, looking around at the honey coloured walls.
"Aw, thanks." Cricket smiled.
Sundew bit her lip to keep from smirking. Those two were so obvious it was amazing that they weren't already together. All she did was jump her eyebrows at Blue then Cricket. Blue didn't notice and Cricket pretended she didn't.
"I didn't bring any other clothes. I'm going to need something more than pajamas." She gestured to the oversized t-shirt and fuzzy pants she was still wearing.
"You can borrow some of mine." Cricket hopped off her bed and opened her closet. "You're taller than me, but we can work something out."
Cricket tossed a few articles of clothing Sundew's way. Shirt. Shorts. Shoes.
"These will definitely not fit me." She held up a shoe to her much larger foot. "But it shouldn't really matter. It's not like we are going out every day."
"And we probably shouldn't if you want to be incognito." Agreed Cricket. "Oh well. That should be good."

Sundew went into the bathroom to change and came out in the yellow shirt with a bumblebee on it and denim shorts. Her face was incredibly unimpressed as she looked in the mirror.
"I look like a ten year old." She said flatly.
"Well, if you imagine the shirt is green instead of yellow, with a leaf instead of a bee, and the shorts are full length jeans, it looks like something you'd wear." Blue helpfully said, squinting at her outfit.
Sundew snorted. "No one has that much imagination. At least we don't have shoes that fit me, I have an excuse to stay behind closed blinds."
Cricket snapped her fingers. "I know! My mom has bigger feet than me! I bet you could use something of hers." She ran down the stairs in an ecstasy of genius.
"Let me decompose in a pile of rotting leaves, just please don't make me put more clothes on." Sundew moaned in vain as Cricket bounced up the stairs again, holding a pair of strappy sandals and a pair of sneakers.
"One of these should work." She thrusted the shoes into Sundew's unwilling arms.
Sundew dropped the sandals like they might bite her. She kicked them towards Blue, sitting leisurely on Cricket's desk chair. He made a startled jump when one hit his shin. "There. You can try on some shoes. You could strain pasta with them with the amount of holes in them. There're more holes than shoe!" It gave her only mild satisfaction to rant at the shoes. But it didn't change the fact that she didn't know what to do.
"Why don't you tell us about plants?" Cricket asked. "To pass the time."
Sundew sent her a suspicious look. "Well, some of my favourite types are found in the Amazon...."

Sundew talked about plants for a good thirty minutes. Enjoying the topic and the company, she found herself relaxing more than she expected. Blue and Cricket seemed interested in what she was talking about, and asked genuine questions. It felt great to have people who seemed to genuinely cared about who and who you are, enough to do the craziest things to help you, enough to listen to you rant about your problems, enough to meet with you every night in the forest just because they liked you.
Sundew felt safe for one of the first times that week. With Willow, with Blue and Cricket, and with herself.

Leslie's Poems
This is a continuous collection of poems that I've written in chronological order, starting with the oldest and ending with the newest. This will be updated periodically and may have mass updates. More often than not, each poem either will be written in free verse or with zero adherence to traditional poem structure. Some poems may imply situations and actions that can be triggering or annoying, especially the earlier poems. I recommend skipping most of the ones from 2018-2019, or just not reading this at all if you feel it may hurt you. Please enjoy and read at your own discretion.
