"Oh yeah" Dec nodded "it is isn't it?"
"Yep" Ant confirmed "today should be the start of I'm a celebrity...get me out of here"
"Well,we certainly got ourselves out of there didn't we?" Dec sighed.
"Yeah" Ant laughed sarcastically "not through any fault of our own though"
"Maybe they're going ahead with it with different presenters?" Dec said sadly.
"Declan" Ant snapped "don't be so bloody ridiculous,it's our show,as if they would do that"
"You never know" Dec shrugged.
"I do know actually" Ant retorted "we've only been missing for a few days, they don't know if we're dead or alive, how disrespectful would it be for them to replace us already?"
"Yeah,I guess you're right" Dec sighed.
"Of course I am" Ant replied "we're ITVs golden boys remember?"
"Yeah" Dec smiled "we are"
"They won't forget about us kidda" Ant smiled "don't you worry about that"
"Good" Dec replied "wonder when we'll get rescued?"
"Soon,I hope" Ant sighed "but until then,we'll have to just take each day as it comes"
"Yeah" Dec agreed.
"We still haven't built a fire" Ant pointed out.
"Probably just as well" Dec shrugged "the storm would have blown it out anyway"
"Umm...do we know where the matches are?" Ant asked hopefully.
"Yeah" Dec smiled "I found the bag wedged in between two trees over there"
"That's something at least" Ant nodded "so we've still got the matches in there?"
"Yeah" Dec nodded "but I wouldn't be surprised if they're soaked through"
"I'll check later" Ant replied "what else was in the bag?"
"First aid kit" Dec informed him "torch, our phones...batteries are dead though and the scrabble"
"Ah yes" Ant laughed "definitely can't do without that"
"Yeah, can't wait to thrash ya" Dec grinned.
"Well, that will just have to wait" Ant laughed "we need to find more food, shame we didn't put the bubbly fruit in the bag"
"Sorry,not sorry" Dec winked.
"Alright Decs" Ant laughed "I know you hate it,I do too, maybe we'll stumble across some different kind of fruit today"
"Oh please God" Dec placed his hands together in prayer.
"We need to go hunting at some point" Ant announced.
"Hunting?" Dec asked nervously, uncomfortable at the thought of having to kill anything.
"Yeah,ya know?" Ant continued "as well as looking for fruit,we need to hunt for a source of water and something we can make a fire with, anything useful"
"Oh ok" Dec replied relieved "yes, let's do that"
"And I'm gonna make a spear" Ant announced proudly.
"A spear?" Dec laughed "how?and for what?"
"To spear fish of course" Ant smiled "how do you think we're gonna catch them?just scoop them up with our bare hands?"

"Scoop them up into our shirts?" Dec asked hopefully.
"Yeah, right" Ant laughed "the slippery little buggers are a lot quicker than that,I'd have fun watching you try though"
"How are you gonna make a spear then?" Dec frowned.
"Out of a stick" Ant announced proudly "just need to shape one end into a point"
"How are you gonna do that?" Dec asked confused.
"Well, there's scissors in the first aid kit aren't there?" Ant enquired "I can use those,I'll get it to work somehow"
"You're quite good at this survival lark aren't you?" Dec smiled.
"Just doing the best I can" Ant shrugged.
"So what's the plan then?" Dec asked.
"Well,we should probably go and explore the island some more now" Ant suggested "see what we can find, then I'll make the spear later"
"We gonna go in the same direction as before?" Dec enquired.
"Nah" Ant shook his head "that would be a bit silly,it only led to that disgusting fruit,we need to see what we can find in a different direction"
"Ok,makes sense" Dec nodded enthusiastically "shall we get going then?"
Ant was pleased to see this more positive side to Dec,it would certainly make living with him on the island for however long they were there, just that little bit easier.
They were soon on their way, forcing their way through the undergrowth and cursing the fact that they still only had flip flops to wear on their feet.
Ant suddenly stopped dead in his tracks "listen"
Dec followed his lead, standing still and breathing as quietly as possible as he tried to make out what Ant had heard.
"I don't hear anything" he whispered.
"Listen harder" Ant muttered back.
Dec craned his neck towards the direction that Ant was gazing, not sure if the sound that eluded him was a good or a bad thing.
"Nothing" Dec sighed, visibly disappointed at his ability to notice the small things that Ant always did.
Ant suddenly took off, running as fast as he could towards whatever it was that had caught his attention.
"Hey wait" Dec called out "wait for me"
Decs little legs struggled to keep up with his friends pace and Ants determination to get to his destination as soon as possible meant that he didn't even think to check behind him to see if Dec was keeping up or not.
"ANT...ANT" Dec called out desperately "please wait"
Dec stopped abruptly when he realised that he had caught up with Ant,who was now standing dead still, staring straight ahead.
"Bloody hell Ant" Dec wheezed as he bent over to try and catch his breath "you could've waited for us,I could have got lost"
Ant didn't answer, just carried on staring straight ahead,so Dec followed his eyeline.

"Oh" he exclaimed.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Ant finally spoke as he carried on staring in awe.
"It really is" Dec grinned.
For there ahead of the two men,was the most amazing, wondrous sight they could ever have hoped to see.
A waterfall!
Sure,it was hardly Niagara Falls,it was basically not much more than a gentle trickle, running freely over some rocks into a little pool below, but it was water and it was fresh, clean water and it was exactly what they needed.
The boys continued to stare at it,the sunlight mixing with the water, making a tiny rainbow in the air.
Ant walked forward and knelt at the edge of the pool, cupping his two hands together and scooping the liquid up to his face and taking a large gulp.
It was the best water he'd ever tasted.
It tasted of hope,of positivity...of survival.
"Come on Declan" Ant beckoned Dec over, who was still standing a few feet back, staring at Ant in amazement.
Dec suddenly rushed forward with a big grin on his face and joined Ant.
"So good" he mumbled as he scooped mouthful after mouthful of water into his mouth "fill up the bottle"
"Was just about to" Ant smiled,as he placed their practically empty water bottle under the gentle trickle of water "this might take a while"
"Got somewhere you need to be?" Dec laughed.
Ant shook his head playfully as he glanced slowly around the area.
"Maybe there'll be some kind of fruit growing around here?" He mused "it's obviously a very lush area"
"You never know" Dec smiled "shall I go and look while you do that?"
"No,wait for me" Ant replied "don't want you getting lost"
"You weren't so worried about that a few minutes ago" Dec winked.
Ant didn't answer, just smiled fondly at Dec.
"Should we set up camp here?" Dec suggested.
"Nah" Ant shook his head "we need to be on the beach where we can easily be spotted by rescuers"
"Ah,ok" Dec nodded "shame though"
"It's fine Declan" Ant laughed while glancing at his watch "it didn't take us that long to get here,we can come every day, several times a day if we want"
Once Ant had finished filling the water bottle,he placed it down on the ground and scooped more water into his hands and splashed it over his face.
"Lovely" he smiled "let's go and find some fruit of some kind then"
"ANT" Dec squealed, when they'd been walking for no more than ten minutes "look"
Just when they thought this day couldn't get any better,Ant gazed up to where Dec was looking.
"Oh my God" he grinned "is that...?"
"Mangoes" Dec interrupted in his excitement "we've only gone and found some mangoes"
"I bloody love mangoes too" Ant announced,as he broke into a sprint once again.
"I can even reach them" he beamed as he got to the tree and reached up to pull one of the delicious fruits down, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Feel it Dec" he beamed "it's ripe"
Dec gave the mango a gentle feel before picking one of his own.
"I'm going to eat it now" Dec grinned,as he broke into the peel with his finger nails and messily removing as much as he could.
"Good?" Ant asked,as he watched Dec tuck into his meal.
"So good" Dec mumbled with a mouthful of the sweet flesh, grinning at Ant with enough food spread all over his face to make Isla proud.
"Oh God,it really is" Ant smiled,as he started to enjoy his own mango "so juicy and delicious"
Once they'd finished, they collected as many mangoes as they could carry, vowing to come back tomorrow with the bag to stock up.
Later,as they sat on the beach, looking out to sea,Ant warned Dec not to eat too many mangoes...their stomachs were now very delicate after such a minimal amount of food over the last few days,so they had to be careful.
"We can have fish and mango tonight" Ant announced proudly.
"Together?" Dec frowned.
"Yeah, together" Ant smiled "will be delicious, gonna start making that spear soon"
"Yeah" Dec nodded "but we still don't have anything to cook fish on and I'm certainly not having any sushi"
"Don't worry Decs" Ant laughed "no one is going to be eating any raw fish,I'll be making a fire too"
"Productive day eh?" Dec smiled.
"Definitely" Ant replied "we're on a roll,we've found water and fruit, just need fish and fire now"
"Still think fish and mango don't go together" Dec frowned.
"Don't knock it till you try it" Ant laughed "it's no different than pineapple on pizza"
"Yeah" Dec replied "and that's disgusting"
"Love it" Ant grinned "and peanut butter and jam"
"That's even worse" Dec moaned "sweet and savoury things just don't belong together...unless it's peas with banana"
"What?" Ant laughed.
"Apparently I loved peas and bananas together when I was a baby" Dec shrugged "according to Mam anyway"
"I might try that" Ant winked.
"Well,I don't eat it now obviously" Dec replied.
"Don't you worry Decs" Ant patted Dec on the back gently "it'll be a superb meal once I've worked my magic on it"
Dec didn't reply, as he was obviously distracted by something.
"You ok Decs?" Ant asked.
Dec glanced to his right then back again.
"Do you feel something?" He asked.
"Feel something?" Ant enquired curiously "what do you mean?"
"I'm not sure" Dec frowned "I've just got a strange feeling"
"What kind of feeling?" Ant frowned.
Dec looked to his right once again, before uttering the words that made the hairs on the back of Ants neck stand up.
"Like we're being watched!"

Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me. Lastly… I very much appreciate all my readers and thank you for allowing me to entertain you!
