《The Match ✓》Chapter 13💃🏻

I feel so dizzy all of a sudden when I had seen that text and I don't think I can get the words out of my head. And the image that they sent, it brings shivers down my spine in the worst way possible as I feel myself cold even when I'm around Steel which always makes me feel hot and warm and just happy but even he can't seem to get rid of this. Steel is worried about me and I try not to let him know that I'm terrified but I have a feeling that he already knows it.
"Why is this your favorite restaurant, beside the food?" He asks me. I believe he's trying to distract me and take my mind off it. He doesn't ask about it and I feel relieved that I don't have to speak about it because that is something that I don't want to do and I don't want to tell someone that is starting to become my friend all of my problems and my past because if I begin speaking about it, I don't think that I will be able to stop any time soon as it will just all pour out of me.
I look at him in the eyes. I'm not sure what I'm seeing in them but I find that they are comforting and the gray is calming to look into. "I don't know. I suppose this restaurant is sort of a tradition for me to go to. I know it may not be the fanciest one out there but it does hold something in my heart and I can't be sure exactly what that is" I tell him in full honestly. I don't really know why I adore this place but I do and that is enough for me.

He gives me a smile. "It has become my favorite because you're here" He says. His words make me shiver but this time in the best way and his words bring the blood rising to my cheeks like never before. Steel does something to me. "Is this your first time coming here?" I ask him with a small smile, though I'm sure I look like a tomato at this point from blushing so much. We had finished our food a couple of minutes ago and stayed there just talking for a moment. "Yes but I now know what I have been missing" He says with pride in his voice.
"This place does do that to you" I speak. While this is the same restaurant it had been a year ago it has changed and I can still recall that the wallpapers used to be in a pale purple color but now are in this deep red shade, which makes the place much darker than it was before. In the ceiling there are chandeliers but on them are also candle lights. The candle lights don't do that much as there are light bulbs on here but still this makes it look like it's in the Middle Ages or sort of that is.
It has gotten more elegant and I think that is the direction that they're going for, and I think I like it better this way. "I remember the first time I came here. I was only about eight but I can still remember it all" I say without even thinking it as I had started to remember how it used to be and to remember that I had to uncover some memories from my childhood. Steel listens to every word I speak and it's like he's hypnotized as nothing around him seems to matter but my words.

"My oldest brother had wanted to do something special for me before he left for college. I'm the youngest of four children, and I was the closest to him than my other siblings. He came here with me and the two of us dined here. When the evening was over he took me home and promised me that we would do it again once he returns" I tell him. I bite my own tongue to stop myself from speaking any more than I have already said. I don't want him to say that my brother never returned. Never left. He died.
Steel thinks about my words, but then he gives me a smile which I'm not sure what means, but he holds my hand and it makes me feel better. Like nothing can touch me and all the bad memories are gone from me, he drives them away and I will forever be thankful for him because of that. "Do you have a favorite restaurant, other than this place of course?" I ask him, he had said before if I remember correctly that this is his new favorite restaurant and I can understand him in that.
When he doesn't answer me right away I raise an eyebrow at him. "You must have a favorite restaurant or a fast food place" I say, and he chuckles lightly. That sound fills me up with these butterflies that I find I do not want to go away. "Subway" He answers after a moment or two of just silence and I wonder if he is telling the truth. "I love Subway, I usually have one for my lunch break at work because it's easy to get and cheap and also it gives me energy" I say with a smile.
Steel looks satisfied and I giggle. We talk for some moment more because it has become too late, and we head out of the restaurant into the darkness that paints the sky in such beauty that I find it hard not to admire it. There are thick clouds on the sky, so I can't see the stars which I would've liked to see but not every wish can be fulfilled. That I know. Once we step outside into the freezing cold air I find myself shaking from the cold and because I'm not wearing anything warm enough.

I Want You to Remember Me
A simple romantic tale of a... girl meeting a... boy. Trust and love both take time to grow, but growing together is also a lot of fun. A handful of disclaimers and claims: First, this is fan fiction, set in the “Amaranthine Saga” universe written by Forthright. The story and characters, on the other hand, are wholly my own (fault). I highly encourage you to read the stories from the “Amaranthine Saga” before reading this; the latter half of this story will make a whole lot more sense if you do. Second, this is a relatively short and stand-alone story. The completed story should clock in around 10,000 words, so please do not expect a novel, let alone a series. Third, while this is a romantic story, I’ve never been a fan of the usual romance “misunderstanding” tropes. Think of this as more of a romantic slice-of-life story than an action or traditional romance story. Finally, thank you for reading. :)
