《The Match ✓》Chapter 54🥊

"You said you had a lead on finding her, now where is it?!" I ask him for what feels like the hundredth time. He's shaking in his seat from the fear of me, and he should be afraid. "Tell me, Mike. Out with it!" I nearly yell at him. He breaks out of his fear bubble and types something on his keyboard. Clearing his throat he then faces me again but then looks down from fear. "I don't have a lead on her but on him" He then speaks after some minutes and I narrow my eyes at Mike, not sure if I should pay him or punch him in the face or both.

"Then where is he?" I ask him. Mike gestures for a chair beside him. "I don't know" He speaks and I nearly take the chair that he just offered me and hurl it at the wall. "Just out with it!" I tell him. I'm leaning against the wall behind him with my arms crossed at him and glaring deep into his skull. He's taking his sweet time of getting the information out of his head while my poor dancer is suffering somewhere alone with some monster.

"He's good. We can narrow it down even further because he's even better than me at hacking which means that he had to go to collage for that specific reason. He has to be an IT guy or works in security. We can also narrow it down to his height. He's the same height as yours, but he's not as strongly built as you. There is no telling or his age or race or his face, but we know the security cams did get a lot..." He trails off. That does get me thinking about certain things but something is bothering me.

"He's leading us into circles" I then speak up after a couple of minutes. "If he were smart then he would've shut down the security cameras. He had to have planned the kidnapping, and he did it when no one saw him. It was well planned out and it does not make sense for a guy that has a high IQ and knows technology to not shut the cameras or at least cover them. Something off. He's playing us!" I say in pure anger when I realize that we might not be as close to him as we thought.

"He could be, or he might have a hacker on his side. Perhaps we're not looking for one man but two. Which makes this even harder for me to find them. I've already set a network to locate the device which is blocking me but it's sending me everywhere in the city. As if they're everywhere and nowhere at the same time" Mike speaks. He doesn't look at me as he's showing me some computer thing which honestly I don't care about. "Just find those bastards" I tell him, and he nods his head. I walk out of his house and onto the street.

The night is so dark and it's really showing how much I miss her, as if the universe and I are one. Without her I'm forever lost in the darkness as I need her to be my light and guide me in ways that no one else can. She is the brightest star which has more light than all the stars and the moon combined. She can light up the night and make sure that the darkness is far away and even if it tries to come, I will be there to protect her and make sure that her light does not get turned off or tainted in any shape or form.

Walking down the streets with those cops following me, trying to figure out if it's me, and they're the definition of the stupidity in humans as they can't see that someone else has her, and they're not doing anything to find her, but just trying to frame it on me. But I will be the one that finds her and I will be her hero when I save her from the claws of the monster that holds her in his lair. As I was about to enter my apartment my phone rings in my pocket.

I smirk when I notice who's calling me. "You must be very bold if you're calling me now, Detective. As you have been informed, I've not done anything" I answer into the phone. "That's not why I'm calling. I need you to get down here now, or-" He says and I smirk. "Or you will arrest me?" I ask him. The though that he needs my help with something does make the smirk on my face even wider. I can only imagine the look of defeat when realized that he needs me.

"I'm sure I could sue you for arresting me when I've not done a single thing. Those police offers can vouch for it if they are not corrupted by you, that is" I tell him. I can already see how angry he is at the moment which is almost hilarious. He should try boxing to relief himself of all that anger that he holds. "As much as I would enjoy arresting you for something that you've done. An assault which you've committed in your past. But that it's not why I'm calling" He speaks and it does sound the words are paining him to speak.

Perhaps because he doesn't know what to do and the police force have been met with the end of the road, and they have no other way but to turn to me. There is no secret that he knows that I've been doing some invention myself. "And for whatever reason do you have to call me?" I ask him. I hear him let out a sigh. "A video was sent just moments ago. A video of Lila being taken advantage of" He speaks and as soon as those words have left his mouth, I clench my fists so tight that my phone breaks and the pieces fall down to the ground.
