As I walked into River and my's apartment, I gasped. The place was filled with candles and smelled like lemon, which was my favorite scent.

I had only been gone for half an hour to get groceries, and the apartment definitely did not look like this when I left.

After setting down the groceries, I walked into the living room and found a piece of paper on the coffee table. I did an excellent job of keeping our apartment clean, so it looked out of place.

I looked at it and noticed it was titled Eager to find out what that meant, I read the rest.

It was at that moment that my heart melted into a puddle on the floor. River came out of our bedroom and walked over to me, and at the sight of him, I started crying because I knew exactly what he was doing.

He got down on one knee, confirming my suspicion that this was a proposal. He brought out a big diamond ring, and my heart fluttered.

"Alani, I love you so much, and we may have had a weird start, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. Over the past year, I've realized that I could experience all the fun things in the world, but at the end of the day, it's about who I spend my time with and not about what I'm doing. I get bored easily, but there is no way in hell that I would ever get bored of you. I want to spend the rest of our lives exploring and figuring things out together. Will you marry me?" He asked, looking up at me.

"Yes!" I yelled before he slipped the ring onto my finger and hugged me as I cried happy tears.

"I love you," He whispered as our foreheads touched.

"I love you too! We're engaged!" I screamed into his face.

"One more thing left to do."

"What?" I asked as River grabbed a pen. Then he walked over to the piece of paper and crossed out Get engaged.

"I thought we were done with lists?" I joked.

"One last list?" He said.

"One last list," I replied.
