The party that my mother arranged is set to be today. Many of her suitors have arrived already. Many royals from different countries are here, hoping that they will be chosen as my mother's future husband and king of Scotland.

Yet still, she's with Lord Blackburn, and I can't stop her because she loves him. I know she realized that there was a point to what we told her yesterday about Queen Elizabeth's plan against her. After seeing her with him, I just decided to have a dance with Prince Casper. Good thing he's still here.

I can see my mother being very happy with him. They laughed at each other. They even danced gracefully. It's been awhile since I saw my mother that happy with a man.

Uncle James looked at me, signaling for me to follow him, so I nodded and followed.

"Alexandra, Lord Darnley and Lady Lennox"

"They are here."

As I checked around the hall, I saw Lord Darnley staring at my mother with Lord Blackburn. He seemed to be thinking about leaving when he saw them dancing. Seconds later, he left his mother at the party.

"Uncle James, you need to tell my mother about this."

"He just saw them dancing."

"He might think she has changed her mind."

My uncle went to my mother to tell her that, but it's too late because Lord Darnley has already left the party, but his mother is here. She then talked to Lady Lennox privately, and I followed them, but I didn't get to hear what they talked about. My mother looked so confused after talking to Lady Lennox. As soon as the party ended, Queen Mary commanded the servants to call for Uncle James and me. When we got there, she immediately told us what they had talked about.

"Elizabeth ordered them to also visit the English court.

"However, she chose to go to Scottish Court instead."

"She also told me that the place Elizabeth gave to Gideon is no longer a castle; it's been renovated after it was sold to the crown"

"And it's renovated into a cell"

She said

"What?!"

"A cell?"

"For you?"

Uncle James was shocked

"She plans to imprison you, Mary."

"Don't accept his proposal"

He added

"I know you don't want to hurt him, but if you'll just end up locked in a cell and held as a prisoner in England."

"Don't!"

I said it with conviction

"I will hire an investigator to check if it's true."

"For now, I will not decide anything involving my marriage"

She said

I talked to her privately as soon as Uncle James left.

"Mother, I know you're confused right now"

"But I want you to make a good decision with this"

"Are you going to marry the person you love but will be imprisoned in England while Scotland will have their peace? "

"Or marry the ambitious man you haven't met yet for the good of Scotland and have powerful support to claim England? "

"It's between love and Scotland"

I said

"Thank you, my daughter."

"And, of course, for the good of Scotland"

"I've realized that before when you talked to me yesterday, but I'm still confused."

"I need to know the truth and to know which is the right decision."

She said

"Mother, if it's for the good of our country"

"Marry Lord Darnley"

"But Lady Lennox said he loves someone else, so that means there's..."

I continued her sentence, "No chance for the both of you?"

"Mother, you have me and other people who love you."

"Yes, it may be hard to have no love in a marriage."

"But don't think about what will happen in the future.

"Think about the present time."

"Today"

"There could still be a chance to have something between the both of you if you try."

I said

"I shall make a decision by tomorrow."

"I will also have the answers from my investigators tomorrow."

Let's just see if what is really going on and what should be done.
