I'm still feeling astonished after what happened yesterday. I was really surprised because I wasn't expecting that the proposal would happen instantaneously, but I am thankful to have him in my life. A wonderful man, my best friend, my rock, and my soon-to-be husband.

The announcement of my engagement to the King of Italy will come about in a while.

I decided to visit Marco's chambers to check on him. As I went inside, he greeted me, "Alex."

"Hey, how are you? "

"I'm fine. "I'll be down in a minute, don't worry, love," he said with a smile. "Stay for awhile if you want," he added, so I stayed.

"You know, we should go to Italy soon. If only you would like."

"Yeah, why not?" I nodded.

"It's good to hear you agree." He laughed.

"Why wouldn't I agree? Italy would be my home too soon. "

"But you know, it's fine with me if you want to stay here in Scotland. Even if we're already married, I'm not that demanding for you to worry. " We laughed.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I know you don't like to leave your mother here with Lord Darnley, and I kind of dislike him too. If needed, Italy will be by Scotland's side. "

"But I can stay in Italy too. I'll just maybe visit here"

"Your choice, but really Alex. If you want to stay here more often, it's fine."

"Thank you, Marco. I really owe you so much. "

"You don't owe me anything." He held his hand to my face. "You're soon to be my wife, my everything. I just want to give you what you deserve. " He kissed my forehead.

As soon as he finished fixing his attire, we went downstairs to the throne room. When we arrived there, I could see my mother with Lord Darnley at her side, and also Uncle James was here with Lady Greer. People were already there. Many Lords and Ladies went to catch the announcement.

"My fellow Scots, we are here today for a special announcement. We are also honored to have the presence of the King of Italy, King Marco, here today. I am so glad many of the powerful and influential families came to the court to witness the very special announcement. I don't want to add more to it and diminish your excitement, so here I go. Our young Princess Alexandra is now engaged to King Marco of Italy. "

Everybody is full of joy at my engagement to the King. After the announcement, the food and wines were served, and the classical music began playing.

"Cheers to the Princess of Scotland!"

"Cheers to the King of Italy!"

"To Scotland!"

All of them followed and cheered.

I'm glad that they accepted and supported my engagement to Marco. They shouldn't worry because it'll also be good for Scotland. I hope this will continue till we are married. So basically, my mother and I are both engaged. I do hope my father is here. I hope he'll guide me throughout my circumstances.

I grabbed a drink and let Marco socialize with my people while my ladies went to me.

"Omg! Alex, you're engaged, not to mention to a king! " Anne said

"To a handsome king," Bekah mentioned

"Oh you guys! We know Alex doesn't really care about that!" Belle laughed

"But congratulations, though!" Ana congratulated me.

"Thank you so much, guys! I'm really glad all of you are here with me. " I smiled at them.

"Soon we'll also meet our one true prince and get married," Ana said.

"Oh Ana! Marriage? Go find a man first! " They laughed.

"Many bachelors are here today, so why not go meet them! " I said

"If I were you, Ana, Bekah, and Anne, I would wait until the Queen's wedding," Belle smirked.

"There are more eligible bachelors and people going here." I nodded

"You're right, Belle"

All of us laughed through the day. The night came, I went with King Marco for a late night stroll in the castle grounds. We shared alot of stories about our time when we got separated after finishing school.

He told me his father— King Charles V of Italy died when he was about 10 years old. Though he was a bit old and was already studying that time, Italy was still handled by a Regent until he became 15 years old. I remembered my mother's experience when my grandfather— King James V died when she was 6 months old.

He told me a lot of things, especially about Italy and his mother—the Queen Mother of Italy. I can't quite remember her, but she seemed nice when Marco told me things about her. Marco is the only child, so he really needs to wed and to have heirs to the throne.

But I don't want to follow them down the aisle right away, but it actually depends on your decision. "

"I don't really mind getting married immediately as long as it's with you." He smiled at me.

"I'm still grateful to finally get married to the most beautiful and very intelligent woman in the world." He said that made me chuckle.

"Oh you don't have to compliment me that way"

"It's no compliment, it's the truth, love. I'm so happy to be marrying you. " He held my hand.

"So am I." I smiled at him.

"I love you, Alexandra Katherina Stuart De Valois," he said.

"I love you too."

He mentioned when in Rome, which was the first time I met him again after how many years, I didn't recognize and remember being with him.

"I remember the time when we were in Rome."

"I was just partying."

"And I was just sitting there. I decided to go for a drink by crashing a party near my rented chateau. "

"What! You just crashed the party?!"

"Yes, why not? They wouldn't know. "

"He was my friend!"

"Nevertheless, let's skip to the part when you walked up to me. "

"Well, I actually remembered that."

"But I do know you don't remember when you got so drunk"

"Speaking of drinking, do you want wine? Because I would really love to drink now."

"Sure, why not?"

We went by the banquet hall to get a bottle of wine and two wine glasses. We drink while we walk around the castle.

"So I'll tell you about what happened when you got drunk"

"Oh no."

"You need to know," he laughed. "You vomited on me." he added.

"What! I am so sorry for that. "

"Don't matter. That was when the good thing happened. That was the reason we went to my chateau, near the party, because I had to change and you had to rest. " He laughed.

"Then what happened?"

"The moment I took off my top, you suddenly grabbed me."

"Oh my god"

"Yes, the rest happened after that." We laughed.

"That was so embarrassing. You don't have to! "

We continued our conversation while we went up to our chambers, but he decided to stay and sleep beside me in my chambers.
