when i was a kid

i believed that

i could be anything

i still do

sometimes i imagine myself

over the night sky, soaring

sweet ephemeral hues

of black and blue

are what i'm imagining

then i wake up

to harsh reality

on the ground,walking

holding close to my heart

my simple dream of flying
