"It is a sad day for all the students and teachers at U.A high. As you all know, class 1A had an incident with the league of villains. Everyone did what they could do to try and stop them. Despite our efforts, only one of the two students who were kidnapped, were rescued. After weeks of searching for our missing student, her body was found all alone in an alleyway. We are all gathered here today to honour our beloved classmate, daughter, student, sister or friend and the life she had." Principal Nezu spoke.
He paused to get his lantern.
"Now if you all could get out your lanterns, raise them up to the sky and remember our dear Zella. Not for what she could've been, but for what she already was. A hero."
"Tears everywhere by her classmates and family. All of Japan is with you Ms Mikio, you will be missed." a news reporter at the scene announced.

The thick and heavy snow was making it hard to see where she was going. Zella didn't know how she ended up here. The last thing she remembers was falling and waking up in the middle of nowhere covered in snow. She didn't know how for long she had been walking.
After walking for a while more, she started to feel dizzy and passed out. But right before she did, a voice was heard not too far away.
"Hey, you! What are you doing out here?"
Before Zella could respond she was out cold.
She slowly opened her eyes and found herself in a big comfy bed.
"I'm glad you're awake." a young girl about her age said.
The girl had long dark hair, thick eyebrows, enchanting green eyes and pale skin. She was kinda small but still looked like she trained a lot.

Confused and still not feeling well, Zella was quiet. She looked around the room and analysed it. Very medieval looking place, carpets old but fancy, stone walls and golden lamps. But one thing caught her eye. A katana on the wall. The handle was carved with dark blue flower designs and the cover was leather and old looking.
It was beautiful.
"How are you feeling?" the girl asked.
She caught Zella staring at it and waved at her face to get her attention. As she snapped out of it she looked at the girl with a just as confused face as before.
"I'm alright." she answered.
"What's you name?"
"Im-" Zella started.
She couldn't believe it and sat silently in shock, looking down at the floor. She couldn't remember her name. As a matter of fact she couldn't remember anything. How she got in this bed, who this girl in front of her was or who she was.
Speechless, Zella looked up to the girl again and said-
"I don't know."
Stressed out and anxious Zella looked up to the katana on the wall again. The patterns seemed to calm her down.
"You like it huh?" the girl said.
She nodded.
"Well, I'm Anastasia. But you can call me Anna." the green eyed girl said smiling and reached her hand out for Zella to grab.
Zella slowly shook it and the girl gestured her to follow out the room.
They walked through the halls of what looked like a palace. Stone walls with even more golden lamps on it. Zella couldn't help but look around even more, the place was creepy but beautiful in its own way.
"You know, I thought your entire head was covered in snow when I saw how white it was." the dark haired girl said breaking the ice.

"After I removed it all while you were sleeping I tried to remove more even though there was nothing to remove!" she said laughing.
"Turns out you were just a snow haired girl."
Zella just looked at the girl, trying to force a smile on her face. It was still a little frozen.
After a while the girls made it to another room which seemed to be a gym. There were sparring dummies all over the place and people training. Anna led Zella to a man training at the very far end of the gym.
"She woke up, dad!" Anna said happily.
The man turned around drying his face with a towel. He looked at Zella, how fragile, confused and sad she looked. He reached out with his hand for her to take.
"I am Eisen Akito, what's your name dear?"
Nervous, Zella looked down to the ground again. She shook her head, feeling a lump in her throat.
"I... I-I can't remember anything about myself." she managed to get out.
The man just looked at her again, putting his hand on her head before saying-
"It's okay, you'll get a fresh start here."
Zella slowly looked up before giving him a slight smile.
Before she could say anything else, Anna pulled out the katana from the room.
"Where did she get that from?"
"Let's start with this, you seemed to like it a lot." she said.
Her father grabbed it from her slowly.
"It's yours if you want." he said, turning to face Zella again.
Zella looked at it with her deep blue eyes that were as blue as the pattern on the sword in front of her. She slowly took it out of his hands and drew it out. She looked into the blade returning the icy look.
"Welcome to your new home, Katana."

The Bettor's Oath [A Dark-Modern LITRPG]
We live in a world where the rabbit’s foot helped win the game. Following that logic, tell me, what happens when the odds are flipped against the strong and a god rises to give the weak their right for revenge?~Last segment of the First Monarch's speech before the Lablanca battle. Lothar Ardolf, an alcoholic 27 years old high school teacher, was one of the many men who failed to catch up to life. When everyone around him worked to leave a mark behind, he idled away between states of short sobriety and static numbness, hoping that one day everything would resolve itself. It took little to wake him up. Only a life, soul, and body changing experience.Thrust into a world of cheap power and tyrannical governments, where a man could rival what is true and alter what is false, he was tasked by an elusive being with befalling titans. He wakes up in a prison with a path laid in front of him; one that would challenge all the resolve he has and more. Intertwined in a convoluted scheme of politics and old grudges, he will need to learn how to wield his new powers in order to escape before the secrets of the prison threaten to unravel him. However, he shortly realizes that his new faded fantasy was not a fairy tale. All that awaits him in the end, for standing against the world, is death. That is, if the three sided coin lands on heads. If it lands on tails... The shadowbane army rises. ...... This story is a neo-noir dark LITRPG in a world similar to earth. Take the tags seriously. I've been working on this project for 6 months and my MC is a bit unconventional, so I'm excited to introduce you all to him. Beware, it will be a slow-burn, so please be patient. The main plot will start to kick up at around chapter 15. I will be writing about racists, rapists, cultists and horrible humans. I do not condone or excuse their behavior or choice of words but the first arc will be in a prison and (some) prisoners don't mince their words. My MC doesn't adapt to the new world immediately because that is not realistic at all. It takes time and because of his personality, it will take more than a system to convince him to do someone else's bidding ;) Each chapter will have around 3000+ (give or take) words. I will be updating 2-3 times a week (depending on how busy I am with work and/or college) when I'm done publishing my backlog (Which is very big, 40,000+ words). **Each comment gets rep! Cover art by @tahraart on Instagram. Link to discord: https://youtu.be/91wX0NRjJqg Have a good one, Pistol. **** THE STORY IS ON TEMPORARY HIATUS. WE WILL BE BACK IN 2 MONTHS. SORRY EVERYONE.

Theomancer
My very own first book: I know it won't be perfect, so any constructive criticism would be appreciated. A peculiar reject from modern society ends up as one of the summoned people in another world, but will the premise hold up to the reality of things? only one way to find out! Follow an irascible Darwin's adventures while he pioneers his class in a whole new world, where colors and willpower are two of the most important things, besides respecting the Gods (and avoiding stronger pricks that are just waiting for an excuse to trample someone). -first-person, portal fantasy, litrpg -the cover is my crude attempt with Paint
