《KATANA ~ a MHA fanfic》Chapter 15 - The man who can't be moved

Katana helped her sister up and sat her down against a wall. There's a limit to how much a person can use their quirk without feeling the negative side effects, and Annas had been reached. Next up was Katana versus the remaining two heroes.
"Don't you think it's a little unfair that I'm up against two of you?" she asked as she stretched her arms.
The two didn't even answer her, with Shinso shooting a scarf right at her and Shoto leaping towards her. Katana had already copied their quirks, she just needed to figure out a way to use it against them without getting caught in those damn scarves.
She jumped around and dodged for a while, until she felt her right foot freeze. Right after, when she tried to use fire to melt it, her arms were caught up in a scarf. Refusing to give up, she locked eyes with the purple haired pro and activated Annas quirk on him. Because he lost balance, she was able to break free and melt the ice.
"Figured it out yet?" she asked and smirked.
Shoto knew that she was going to brainwash him if he answered her. So he just shot a mini version of "heaven piercing ice wall" towards the assassin. She kept on dodging them, but soon it was getting tiring. The purple haired pro had recovered from the dizziness and was aiming a scarf at her.
She had no time to think and just let out some kind of combination between ice and fire. It shot right at them and they were almost hit. It took a lot out of Katana, she squatted down as she was panting.
The heroes looked at each other and agreed to stop the fight. The turquoise and grey eyed one reached a hand out for Katana to grab. She didn't say a word, just let him help her up.
There was a long silence before the crimson eyed pro spoke up. He had just recovered from his own fight.

"Copy, right? Your quirk..." he looked down to the ground.
Katana nodded.
"Mhm."
"But how? You never touched any of us and you still copied them?" Shoto asked, perplexed.
"There's not much to it honestly. I can look into a persons eyes and copy their quirk. They won't feel anything and it's not visible on me when I do it. I can also do it by touching them but it's not very useful."
The three heroes looked at each other and took in the information.
"You're definitely skilled fighters. I personally think we can help each other out, but I don't trust you fully... yet." the heterochromia eyed man spoke.
"Two steps forward, one step back, is still one step forward." Katana said and smiled, even though they couldn't see the smile under her mask.
"We have to go to work. Meet us here same time tomorrow." the purple haired pro said and walked away with his coworkers. The girls didn't answer and parted ways with the three.

The girls were back home and had decided to stay in for the rest of the day. The illusion assassin would be arriving tomorrow morning, making it perfect for their plan.
By sunset Katana was feeling a little restless, so she decided to just walk on a few rooftops until she found a perfect one to watch the orange sky on.
Musutafu was such a busy city that you never got to appreciate the one thing all places have in common. This beautiful colour the sun gave the sky, it was peaceful. Even for a big city like this. Katana didn't even wear her gear or usual clothes. Just a pair of shorts and a hoodie.
She sat on the edge of the building and enjoyed the sunset. The blue eyed girl took the time to appreciate the city and how it was glowing. Long, white hair blowing in the soft breeze. Her eyes wandered from building to building, until they stopped because she saw someone sitting on the edge of one.

It was not far away, the building down below hers. She was surprised she hadn't noticed earlier. Though she couldn't see who it was, just an ash blonde head.
I feel stupid. Why are we even working together with those two fighters? There's a reason to why we were kicked off the case, because we're doing dumb shit like this now. To be fair, they did have all of the names of the leagues members, they probably have more useful information.
I don't know...
I just want to bring my best friend back... Are you even alive? How could you be?
As I'm watching the sunset on our rooftop, I can't help but wonder if you're out there doing the same. It's like that stupid song you used to sing when we were up here.
"Kacchan? Is that you?"
He turned around to see the white haired girl smiling. The sun in her eyes, making the deep blue colour even more visible. She was beautiful. Always happy to see him even if he was moody all the time.
"Are you following me now?" he said and scoffed.
"No, just wanted to watch the sunset. It's been a long day with the sports festival and all. Congratulations by the way!" she went and sat next to him.
"Whatever."
The two sat in silence and watched the beautiful sunset over their home. Suddenly, Zella giggled a little.
"What's so funny?" his crimson eyes looking up, as sharp as ever.
"It's just weird. You're usually such a hothead and now I find you watching the sunset on a rooftop. Maybe there's more to you than being angry all the time." she smiled and closed her eyes, enjoying the suns heat on her face.
"Shut up! I like it here. It... calms me." he closed his eyes as well, leaning back a little.
"It's beautiful." Zella leaned her head on his shoulder. To her surprise, he didn't move away.
The two were silent once more and enjoyed the view and heat. Then, she giggled again.
"Come on! Would you just shut up?" he said and pushed her off his shoulder.
"I'm sorry! I feel like I've heard about this before." she laughed even more. he didn't even answer, just closed his eyes as angrily as usual.
"It's just in, you know that song? If one day you wake up and find that you're missing me." she nudged his arm, waiting for him to continue.
"I'm not going to sing a stupid song!"
"Come on! Pleaaaaase?"
He sighed in defeat before continuing the song.
"And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be." he sang quietly.
"Wow Kacchan, you can sing too? Impressive." she teased.
"Shut up!" he flicked her head and she laughed before continuing.
"Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet... But I'm a way better singer!"
"Tch, no you're not!" he had his hand up as if he was going to blast her. Zella didn't move, just laughed.
"Then prove it."
"And you'll see me waiting for you on the corner of the street."
Their eyes met and the two of them sang together now.
"So I'm not moving, I'm not moving."
"And you'll come running to the corner, cause you'll know it's just for you..."
I sang the song quietly to myself, it made me feel closer to her. Like she was right here...
It's stupid cause I keep waiting for you. Cause maybe, just maybe, you'll come back one day and see me sitting here. And like they say in the song, you'll know it's just for you...

MeiQ: Lore of the Labyrinth
Omaros City lays near one of several Yggdrasil trees that are scattered around the world. Each tree holds an entire labyrinthine ecosystem within or beneath it, yet the mysteries of their origins and what lays in their depths are only ever unraveled by the most skilled and courageous of explorers. Exploration of Omaros' Yggdrasil labyrinth is still in its fledgling stages, drawing in many with the allure of fame and glory that has yet to be claimed. Enter the harbinger Dubhan—cheerful, determined, and not terribly skilled at thinking ahead—and warlock Allouet— intelligent and resourceful, but desperately in over his head. Together, the two of them have half an idea of what they're doing at best, but that's not going to stop them from aiming for the labyrinth's unknown depths. MeiQ is, at its core, a fanfiction inspired by the Etrian Odyssey franchise, alternatively known as Sekaiju no Meikyuu in Japan. Despite that, it is written with the intent to be enjoyable by those unfamiliar with the series as well. The characters and the city of Omaros are original, while the story draws upon lore and recurring concepts from the game series. However, Etrian Odyssey is known for its lore being sparse and open to speculation, so much of the details provided in this story are exactly that—a fan’s speculation and personal expansion of the lore. This story was also inspired by and written as part of HereBeTreasure's Fast Food Frontpage Competition, enjoy some simple dungeon exploration plot and whatever else pops up from this.

I, Mor-eldal: The Necromancer Thief
As a budding little necromancer, I soon discovered that the world of city people is complicated. When my master kicked me out of the cave, he warned me not to talk about my “dark” magic, because people here don't like the undead. I am not really an undead, I just have a skeleton hand, but it is better to be careful. Anyway, that's not my biggest worry. In the Black Dagger brotherhood, I learn a lot of things, such as illusionist magic, which turns out to be quite handy to survive in this maze of streets: in the Cat Quarter, we have thugs of all kinds that are best avoided. But we also have good people, goodhearted “gwaks”, as we say around here. Little did I know that I would soon be caught up in an infamous traffic that would entangle my life even more. With a mix of lighthearted adventure and picaresque, this story narrates the hectic life of a good-spirited street child and his companions in a medieval urban fantasy setting with some nineteenth-century influences. Updates Mondays and Fridays. This is a Creative Commons By work. It is a translation of a trilogy I wrote in Spanish between 2017 and 2018.
