《KATANA ~ a MHA fanfic》Chapter 20 - Home to you

I tried. I really did. But, I wasn't so happy about leaving. Not like this anyways. This mystery is not yet solved, cause if it was, that poor girl would've been home right now. Not to mention my visions which I still don't understand.
Lost in my thoughts, I found myself sitting on the same rooftop where I've watched the sunset a few times already. I don't know why I keep coming back to this place, but I knew I had to do it one last time before leaving it all behind.
As always, I scanned my surroundings and saw a head on the building below mine. That person had been watching the sunset in the same spot every time I was up here. Though, this time it was different. I could've sworn I saw smoke.
Unlike the other times, I was wearing my assassin clothes and gear since we were leaving soon. I climbed closer to the rooftop to better see what was going on.
Of course, it had to be the angry hedgehog with an explosion quirk. What was he doing? Was he training? I stepped even closer to hear what he was yelling.
"DAMN THAT ILLUSION BASTARD!!!!"
I was startled by the loud yelling and took a step back. It was too risky to go near the sound, but I still chose to stay close.
"Katsuki? Honey?" a sweet lady with spiky ash blonde hair approached him carefully.
He looked back at her with a snarl on his face. The crimson eyed pro didn't answer her, just clenched his fists and looked down.
"I thought I might find you here..." she said and put a hand on his shoulder and one on his cheek.
"What do you want?"
"Well, as your mother I'm worried about you. There's usually only one thing or... person on your mind when you're up here."

There was a pause before he answered as I stepped closer now that they both were looking down.
"Talk to me, son."
I couldn't see his face but it sounded like he was... sad.
"The... the case... It's not a priority anymore. That illusion bitch had been going around making people think she was back..."
His voice was slightly shaking and was fairly quiet, but I heard those words clear as day. I couldn't just stand here and watch him suffer. Over the past few weeks I've grown to care for him a little. To see him heartbroken like this made me want to... I don't know, give him hope.
I jumped down and the two looked at my direction. He pushed his mother behind him to protect her but he calmed down when I spoke up.
"Relax. It's just your favourite copy-quirk-having girl." I said and walked up to them.
The ash blonde woman looked up to her much taller son with confusion written all over her face.
"What do you want, you extra?"
His mother smacked his head and began yelling at him.
"THAT IS NO WAY TO GREET A LADY!!! Behave."
Before he could yell back I took his arm and dragged him a few meters away.
"Look. No questions, just listen to what I have to say."
He grunted but stayed quiet like I had asked him to.
"Now that the league has been... you know, captured, me and Dizzy are leaving this city behind. But, I wanted to tell you something first..."
I put my hands on his shoulders and tried my best to keep eye contact with him as he kept shifting his eyes to anywhere but towards me.
"I don't know what's going on inside my head but I know I've been seeing some UA high events. If I ever see her, you'll be the first I contact. Okay?"

I let go of him and turned around to walk away. Suddenly, I felt him grab my arm and turn me around.
"What do you mean if you see her? You already did..."
"What are you talking about?"
He let go of my arm and sighed. He looked up and I swear it felt like his eyes stared right into my soul. A serious expression took over his face before he spoke.
"You asked about it the other day. The one who fought against icyhot... that was her."
I froze in place. Has it always been her? That means she's been in my head from the start, as a child, tween, teenager. Why would I see her life? Could it be...
What if Anna was right and it could be my memories? Does that mean that I'm...
No. It can't be?
I felt sick to my stomach because of the thought. I was losing balance and sat down on the ground with my hands on my head. The crimson eyed pro in front of me was confused as he watched me have a panic attack.
My breathing was only getting heavier by the second until I felt myself getting lifted up and pulled into a deep embrace. Was that angry pro really showing me... affection?
It didn't matter anyways cause it calmed me down. I managed to keep my tears from escaping my eyes and pulled myself off of him after a while.
He was about to say something, probably a snarky comment but I interfered.
"If... If you came face to face with your lost friend... even after all these years... would you recognise her?"
He turned around and I wondered why. Maybe he was too embarrassed to face me because of what he's going to answer? I mean it is a sensitive topic for him...
"The way her face would light up every time we were up here..."
He looked up to the sky and took a deep breath.
"That look, it was... one of a kind. So if she stood here right now, I would know."
I didn't know what to do. Should I just reveal my face and find out the truth? Or stay quiet about it and just go home...
Wherever home is.
I took a deep breath as he turned around again to face me.
"I hope she comes home to you..." and with that I left him and his mom on the rooftop.

The girls were all set and had their bags ready to leave for home.
"Bye bye awful city, see you never!" Anna happily said as she slammed the front door.
Both of them took a deep breath as they felt relieved to leave this mission behind. They've had to do things they never had done before and also what they thought they'd never had to do.
Like using their quirks, approaching people while gathering information, going out at night just for fun. If their father ever heard about this he would be furious.
"But, no need to stress over it now." they both thought and began their 3 day journey to the mountains.

Economicalopoly
Humanity had gotten this far. How far, might you be wondering? Quite far indeed. The world had effectively become an ecumenopolis, almost; not in real life at least, in Economicalopoly of course! More on that later, in our story the main character is Charlie. Charlie was an exceptionally talented young man, the key word being 'was'. He was an incredibly unmotivated individual who generally steered clear from other 'Homo sapiens' as he put it. This was all because of an accident he had early on in life, when he was but 15 years old.
