《KATANA ~ a MHA fanfic》Chapter 24 - Closure

Katana grabbed a black hoodie, black tights and sneakers. If she was going back to Musutafu, it was important that she wasn't going to be seen. Especially since she's been there before.
She tied her long hair up in a ponytail before pulling the hood over her face. The blue eyed girl looked to her sister who was in her usual assassin gear and clothes.
"Stay close in case anything goes wrong. I'm only going to go to the address I was sent, see the boy and go back to the jet with you. Got it?"
Anna nodded and understood. She hadn't dared to say a word to her white haired sister since she was clearly still mad about her secret. Which was understandable, but the green eyed girl wondered for how long she would get the silent treatment.

As Katana walked through the dark streets of Musutafu, she looked at the piece of paper in her hand to see if she was anywhere close to the house.
"Ah, this is the street, which means I'm close..."
She looked at the numbers on the different houses of the neighbourhood and looked for 32.
"38...36...34..."
She stopped and looked at the familiar gate. She recognised it from her very first vision, where it was a small child running down the street with a puppy.
Katana looked up to the door and saw the number she was looking for.
"32."
She looked back to see if Anna was close by. Her sister gave her a thumbs up and signalled her that she was on guard.
The white haired girl took a deep breath and slowly walked up to the front door. Some lights were on and it looked like the TV was too. As she raised her fist up to knock, she was stopped by a sudden, but short headache.

Followed by it was yet another vision.
"Shit. Not good timing..."
As she tried to fight out of it she saw two boys waking beside her on each side. One of them she recognised as the purple eyed pro, Shinso. But the other...
She had to focus to see who it was, letting the pain take over her for a second.
That's when she realised it was that teenage boy, Kai. Although he looked much, much younger. But those eyes, they would forever stay the same. No matter how old he was.
The pounding in her head was making it hard for her to make out what they were saying, but they were smiling. She decided to stop fighting the vision to listen, "one last time.", she thought.
"I've picked you up from school countless times! Is this how you repay me?" the indigo haired boy said offended, dramatically.
The little boy laughed and joked back.
"I'm sorry! But nobody's cooler than my big sis! Did you see the way she fought today? She was like BAM and BOOM and got all the way to the final!"
She heard wholesome laughs and a tear escaped her eye at the memory.
"Yeah, you're right. I couldn't possibly be cooler than her." he said and smiled, his purple eyes meeting hers as her vision got blurry.
In a snap, it ended and she was panting. Now determined, she stood up straight, took a deep breath and knocked on the door. All while ignoring the pain she was still feeling.
"This boy was going to get some closure, he looked up to his sister for what seemed like his whole life. It would be selfish of me to not do anything." she thought as she pulled off the hood and waited for the door to be opened.

The door clicked and Katanas eyes were met by another pair of blue ones. It was a woman in her 40s, hair as white as snow as she stood there, frozen in place.
Katana didn't even have to hear her say anything, cause she already knew this was her mother. She looked like an older version of her. Both of them had tears in their eyes and waited for the other to say something.
"Mom? What are you doing just standing by the door, aren't you gonna say any-" Kai walked up to the door and saw why his mother didn't move, cause now, he too was stuck in place.
"I-I can't really remember who I am... w-was... but I think I-I'm supposed to come here..." she struggled to say her words as her tears were starting to roll down her face.
"My baby..." both of her family members jumped and gave her a hug. Tears were streaming down their cheeks as they squeezed her even tighter, not wanting to let go ever again.
Behind them, Katana saw some family pictures hanging on the wall. The one closest to them being a picture of a smiling little girl with bright, white hair.
"Y-you came back to us..." Katana didn't say a word back to them, just let them have this moment.
"Is it r-really you?" her brother was the first to let go and their mother did too shortly after. She flicked her tears away before she spoke.
"It's me."
"H-how? Please, come inside I-I need to call-"
"No! Don't." Katana sighed as she tried to keep her tears from falling. There was a small pause before she spoke.
"I can't tell you anything but..." she said in a quiet voice and looked up to them with the best smile she could give.
"I just want you to know that I'm alright. Please, go on and live your life to the fullest and don't worry about me anymore..." the assassin turned to her brother who was just as speechless as his mother.
"And please, become the great hero you're meant to be. I saw you on TV the other day and I'm so, so proud of you, Kai. Keep it up."
She looked them in their eyes and gave another weak smile. Her mother put a hand on her cheek and wiped a tear away. Katana slowly removed her hand from her face and stroked it with her thumb.
"I have to go..."
Then she felt a hand grab her arm and another hand turn her around by the waist. She came face to face with someone she hadn't seen in a year.
"You..."
Katana got pulled into a deep embrace. His scent quickly taking over her nose as she felt enchanted by it. His fluffy hair covering half of her face as her nose was buried in his neck.
"I thought I'd lost you forever..."
He pulled away from the hug and put both his hands on her face. Looking deep into her big eyes, he stroked her cheek with his thumb.
"Don't do that to us, Micky..."
The white haired girl slowly removed the pair of hands from her face and held them tight.
"I'm sorry, but I really need to leave..."
"No! Please... We just got you back!" her brother cried out.
"Going where exactly?" the pro hero asked, trying to remain as calm as possible.
"Don't worry about-" Katana stopped mid-sentence and froze in place.
"What is this?" she thought to herself as she couldn't control her actions.
"Sorry, baby... but I can't lose you again..." she heard her mother say.

Arcane Engines: Alchemist’s Scheme
A seemingly chance encounter with an ancient machine and an assassination attempt threaten to disrupt Veil’s education at the premier mage academy of Ithalaan. The bombings and terrorist actions that follow throw the entire region into chaos and draw him inexorably deeper into a mystery involving cults, gods, and ancient mysterious races. These events threaten Veil’s carefully crafted plans, but there are few limits on his ambition. He is willing to do whatever it takes to advance his schemes to become a Magus, including pursuing the illegal discipline of soul magic. While Veil isn’t a powerful mage yet, his spell wrought guns and illicit abilities will help even the playing field. The need to face down his enemies and fulfill his ambitions will send him desperately searching from Forerunner ruins in the Great Northern Forest to ancient abyssal cities within the depths of the planet. _________________________________________________________________ The book is primarily fantasy with a steampunk background. Science fiction elements won't be introduced for quite some time. I currently update my work at a rate of one chapter per week. I'm also in the process of editing chapters 1 - 7, changing the format to make it more readable, and introducing more show and less tell. The reworked chapters will have (edited) after the title. All chapters after 8 have already been written in the new style. I have a Patreon page if you wish to donate. Also, there will be intense situations, some explicit violence, and although it is not an erotic work, one or two sex scenes.

Magician's Pact
A young boy with a special key finds himself caught up with an old wizard, an ancient prohpecy, and a possibly conspercy. This sounds like the sort of thing most childern would love to be a part of, but there are just three small problems. The first is that he is not the hero. Someone already got that role. The second is that he isn't a wizard. He is a Magician which complicates things. The third is that there might be a chance that the whole 'problem' might be comming from his end. Personally he never understood (or interacted with) the 'secret' magical world, but that becomes a problem when the magical world apparently has what his role is supposed to be according to their ancient book... and they are not to happy about him not matching their book. Still it shouldn't be to hard right? All he has to do is go to a school, learn some wizard magic, make sure nobody takes his key... also avoid dying. Thankfully he has had a lot of expereince with that last part and a bunch of Twig Twirling childern can't be too dangerious? Right?
