《KATANA ~ a MHA fanfic》Chapter 42 - Mission: Izuku Midoriya

A few addresses were written down behind the photograph. Next to them were different times.
"23.46..." she thought as she looked for the place he would be at now.
Katana pulled her mask up and tightened her ponytail before pulling the hood back on. She pulled her phone out and searched for the address, not wasting any time on killing him.
But if only she knew how much he used to mean to her, then she never would've tried to kill him. But that wasn't the case now.
About an hour later she found herself standing in front of an apartment building. She kicked the front door open and went up the stairs looking for the name "Midoriya".
Anger filled her veins as she thought about her father sitting comfortably in his home despite everything he's done. He didn't get to relax now because they "saved" him. He was going to pay. And the faster she killed the pathetic hero she could've killed a year ago, the faster her old man could suffer.
"This must be it. I. Midoriya/ O. Uraraka."
She looked out the window on that floor to see if there was any way of her to climb in without being seen. Going in through the front door was a bit of an amateur move.
But there wasn't really a choice for her to make since it was an apartment, so she took a deep breath and had a hand on her katana, ready to cut anyone down.
Just as she was about to kick the door down, she heard noises. From inside the apartment. She put her ear against it to try and listen and determine how many people were in there.
"You were the last person with her, what happened? How can you not-"
"I'm sorry sir, but she seemed normal. I assumed something happened between her and Dynamight so I stayed quiet. I will do everything I can to help find her!"

"I appreciate it. I'll be going now, thank you for your help. We'll be in touch."
As soon as she heard those words and footsteps coming closer, she bolted up the stairs and waited for him to come out. She poked her head out between the stair railings and watched him leave, now taking the chance to attack and catch the green haired pro off guard.
Like she was flying, Katana quickly made her way to the door and kicked him in his back. He fell face first to the floor and she was about to stab him with her sword, but he rolled off just in time.
Then he started bouncing off the walls in high speed. The white haired girl chuckled and put her katana down as she activated her own quirk.
The quirk she didn't know she had. The one that belonged to the old her.
She had absolutely no problem catching up to him, she was much faster. The blue eyed girl grabbed his arm and slammed him to the floor, making a loud thumping sound.
"Deku? What's going o-" a voice was heard as the two were fighting.
"She must be 'O. Uraraka'."
The brunette picked up two small objects nearby and threw it towards them, making them separate. The green eyed pro made his way to her as Katana cracked her fingers and picked her sword up again.
"Running away already?"
"Look, I don't know why you decided to attack me-"
"Don't worry, it's all business. Nothing personal." and before he could answer her, she swiftly threw two small knives at them from a pocket on her back.
He moved away as he thought she was aiming at him. But no, her determination only made her smarter and she aimed at the girl behind him who he seemed to care a lot for.

The brunette let out a cry as she fell down to her knees and watched her legs bleed out.
"Oh, sorry did that hurt? Well, the faster we can get this over with, the faster she'll get help." Katana said sarcastically.
The girl did something with her hands and then he picked her up, looking out the open window as he knitted his eyebrows.
"Hang on tight, I'm getting you out of here honey."
"Oh, no you don't. We're not done here." the assassin spoke and bolted after them.
After a while of chasing and jumping on the building, he decided to put the girl down since he obviously wasn't going to outrun the assassin after him.
They ended up on the rooftop and they stood a few meters from each other.
"Smart choice, so you're gonna fight me or what?" the assassin said as she played with the blade of her katana with her fingers.
He locked eyes with her as green electricity emitted from him. She smirked underneath her mask and emitted her own, think of ways she could use it against him.
The pro leaped towards her and held his arm out as if he was going to punch her, which she simply dodged away from, given she was faster than him. But she didn't expect him to turn around just as fast with a kick to her face, that almost hit her.
"Ok no time for fun, Katana. Let's use this quirk to its fullest now."
He was jumping at her again but instead of running away this time, she held her hand out and shot out a bit of lightning. It was enough for him to change the direction, but he was still going fast at her.
She quickly ran at the direction he came from, stood behind him and shot even more lightning this time. Only a little of it managed to hit him, but it hurt his arm. He wasn't about to let her know though.
He looked like he was thinking, analysing what to do. But Katana was more impatient and put her hands on the ground, smirking at the idea she got.
The white haired girl used her lightning quirk and let it flow through the ground- or roof they were standing on. He jumped away from it but he had to land sometime, and when he did there was no way of avoiding the electric pool underneath him.
Katana watched him get electrocuted and exhaled sharply when he was weak enough. It took a lot out of her, but the adrenaline was keeping her on her feet.
"DEKU!!!" the brunette cried out, barely awake herself.
"Don't worry, this'll be over soon..." the white haired assassin rolled her katana around as she stalked over to him.
He opened one eye and was about to sit up, but Katana kicked him right aback as hard as she could.
"You're smart... but I'm smarter." she said as she traced the sword over his bloody forehead down to his chest.
She pulled her hood down and rolled her neck, enjoying the cold air on her head and face. She looked over to her left to see the brunette passed out, covered in her own blood. Then back to the hero in front of her who seemed to gain consciousness again.
He slowly blinked his eyes open and looked on the sword over his chest and the girl in front of him. He was too afraid to even breathe, the blade would cut him. But that wasn't the only reason he froze.

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
