《Destructive Heaven》Chapter 2: Threats

There was no innocence in the silence that suffocated you. This man, who calls himself Cain, is swaying about your room with a devious smirk. Your hands gently search your bed for anything to throw at him, but there was nothing but blanket. You tightly grip onto the blankets, biting hard on your bottom lip as he marched to your window.
"Kill you? Don't be so glum. I intend to have plenty of fun with you before anything like that happens." He coos, shooting a look at you suddenly.
"Fun with me..?", you mumbled shakily, suddenly squeezing your trembling thighs together. He notices, and his grin only grew with satisfaction.
Your throat was beginning to develop bruises on it already from the previous choking you has just received. You take your palm, and start to wipe at the sweat that kept developing on your forehead. Cain had a very pale complexion. His hair was wavy, and long, accompanied by bangs that often hid those animal-like eyes of his.
At first glance, you would have assumed your new abuser was actually quite a handsome man. Though he was wearing many layers of clothing, you could tell he was well-toned, and defaintly in shape. But most importantly, he is defaintly not human. He notices your prolonged stare, and begins to speak to you with a much calmer tone than before.
"You see, where I come from, I have an awfully boring job. And I've had my eye on you for quite some time at this point. I guess you could say I've taken a liking to you.", he gives you a chilling, teethy grin. You shuffle back against the wall as he spoke these words.
"And where exactly is this place you come from?", you bravely ask.
His grin slowly disappears. He takes slow steps towards your bed, each step causing you heart to stop. His hand points slowly to the floor beneath him, as his yellow eyes burn brightly like flames.
"Hell, my love.", he replies eerily.
You felt yourself swallow hard. The end of your bed creaked as his knee slid it's way over it, slowly applying his weight to it. Your eyes quickly darted up to his, his snake-like tongue moistening his pale lips. You press your back tightly against the wall that prevented your escape.

"W-what do you want from me, Cain—", you sobbed, covering your head with your arms as his body inched closer to yours on the bed.
"I want to feel amusement out of your own suffering. This in itself it's already quite satisfying to watch; your beautiful tears falling off that lovely jaw of yours. But I can already feel it's not enough.", he smirks, grabbing ahold of your ankle.
You feel a scream building up in your stomach, but force it to stay down in fears he'll make his previous threat come to life. You are suddenly yanked down beneath him by your ankle, yelping in pain as you slam your fists against his chest. He let's out a devilish laugh, quickly grabbing ahold of your hands, and squeezing it so tight you thought it might shatter.
You wince in pain, sobbing softly as he stares down at you. You had a bit of cleavage hanging out of your pajamas that seemed to take his attention away from breaking your hand off. He suddenly looks up into your eyes, his smirk taunting you. If you could, you would bash his teeth in till he downed in his own blood, but you were virtually powerless when compared to this thing.
✞✞✞
"One thing I enjoy about you humans is how absolutely fragile you all are. To think, I could rip your entire body to shreds in five seconds if I really wanted to~", he hummed joyfully.
"Please—", you sobbed uncontrollablely, "please don't kill me! I want to live, I do, I do! I'll do anything! Just, please—"
His eyes flickered with temptation. But his face remained cruel. He suddenly grabs ahold of the collar of your shirt, ripping it down until your shirt was wide open, exposing the soft flesh of your stomach, and breasts. You let out a small cry as he drags his hand over one of your breasts, letting out a pleased sigh.
"Good offer, but I can't guarantee your survival. I do like to be rough with my prey, and how long you last is all up to how much your body can take.", he laughs, the sounds echoing through your room.
His hands were so hot against your skin, you thought he might burn into you, and any minute from now you would be able to smell your flesh burning up. Your eyes dulled out from exhaustion, and you had a haunted look on your face as you glared up at your ceiling. There wasn't a single thing you could do. You had to sit here and let your body be caressed and fondled by a man you've never met, let alone love.

You don't know how, but somehow you found yourself drifting off to sleep. Cain's face blurred from your vision, soon followed by complete blackness.
✞✞✞
You awoke to your usual 7:30 alarm, alerting you that it was time to get ready for work. Your eyes fluttered open, and you quickly sat up. You found yourself out of breath, and panting for dear life. You almost thought last night was some horrible nightmare, but you were sadly mistaken. Your shirt was completely torn apart from Cain, and the bruising on your neck was now a much deeper cranberry than before.
You felt a chill go down your spine as you notice your smashed phone in the corner of the room. You must have thrown it so hard, it shattered the entire screen. You go and pick it up, and head for your closet to grab your work attire. The darkness that your closet held caused a sickening feeling to form in your stomach. As you threw on your clothes, you noticed that the bruises on your neck were far too noticeable for work.
"How the hell am I going to hide this?", you said anxiously, biting down on your lip hard.
You pull out some concealer from your makeup bag, and quickly begin to apply it on the bruising. As you were just about done, you felt your entire head come into smashing contact with the mirror in front of you, causing a small trickle of blood to drop from your nose.
"Good morning, my love.", Cain coos, his lips brushing the back of your ear softly.
You let out a violent cough as you tried to catch your breath from the scare you received, a dull pain filling your senses as your eyes began to fill with tears. You could feel Cain's hips press against your backside as he presses your face harder against the mirror.
"I-it hurts—! Please, stop!", you cried out.
"Just a small heads up. I'll be watching you from now on, baby. And you better not let me catch you speaking of this to anyone, otherwise you will see carnage like no other.", he whispers. His breath tickled your ear, and a wave of relief flows through your body as he releases you.
You quickly dab away the blood that had dripped down from your face, and stand there as your body shook violently. You could still feel Cain's presence behind you, and those yellow eyes, they could burn holes into you.
"I-I promise I won't say a word. Please just let me get to work.", you said calmly, trying to keep the tears from welling up again. But as you said that, you turned around to see that Cain was no longer there.
✞✞✞
The train ride to work was extremely draining, both mentally and physically. You had all these people around you, and any one of them would be able to help you. But the paranoia of knowing Cain could be anywhere at a time, watching you with those eyes, kept you at bay from even looking at other people.
When you walked into work, you tried your best to focus on the tasks at hand, but your body was in pain and it was becoming harder to keep your consciousness. You just tried to remind yourself it was Friday, and the weekend would be here at any moment. But then that idea feels you with complete dread.
Two whole days alone in your apartment, with a demon who's only goal is to torture you to insanity. A bead of sweat drips down your face, and you could feel your vision blurring.
"I can't do this.", you whisper to yourself, biting back tears.
You quickly leave your desk and head to the ladies room to splash some cold water onto your burning face. Pushing open the door, you were pleased to see no one else was in there. You start running the cold water, but slowly look up at the mirror to see the familiar face staring bullets into your reflection's eyes.

Darker chapters are marked with a disclaimer. Synopsis: Jacob reincarnates in his 15 years old body. It's just a few minutes before the Change that brought Demonic Beasts swarming all over Earth. In a matter of hours, all the big Capital Cities are razed to the ground. Dragons invaded Rome; Hydras assaulted Venice. Even nastier monsters lurk in the dark. Sadly, his talent is abysmal, and virtually everyone is stronger than him. And he knows that Demonic Beasts are not his only concern, for humans can be far more malevolent at times. St. Peter, Jacob's small mountain hometown in Abruzzo, houses only a few hundred. And since bigger monsters appear in more populated cities, they are relatively safe, or so he thought. But, he soon realizes that even if he went back in time, not everything is the same. And one thing is for sure: he is not the same. His soulmate is now in front of him once again, but things are different. Maybe too different. Follow Jacob in his struggles to protect everyone, change his talent, acquire strength, confront lost loves, and maybe meet new ones. This reincarnation story shows that people who can go back to their past may not be as successful as they thought. I will write no harem in this story. The protagonist may be involved with more than one girl, but not every female will fall at his feet. Swearing will be censored whenever possible since some people do not like explicit forms. However, the censoring will be minimal, like "Fuc**ng." [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Eusocial
There's a reason people made the word improbable. Just because something would never happen based on common sense or reason, doesn't mean it can't happen. For example, a soul maintaining their memories through the River of the afterlife, a stream of ethereal energies that remove and store memories from the recently departed only to return when they die again. Another example, a soul by it's sheer will maintaining awareness during the process of a new body's development; nearly infintesimile chances of happening, but there is still a chance. Hi, you can call me Esseu (S U) and I managed to do both of those nearly impossible things back to back. My reward for such a feat? I was turned into a glorified bee keeper.
