"How old are you?" I asked Xelia.
"I'm twenty you?" She asked while braiding Faith's hair who was already in her pajamas.
"Twenty four." I said softly before pulling my pajamas on. "How long were you at my dad's camp?" I asked carefully.
"Two years." She said softly. "How long were you with-"
"A year." I said before sighing. "Anyways we're heading into town tomorrow. Do you mind staying here and watching Faith?" I asked her and she nodded.
"Yeah." She said with a soft smile on her face.
"Hunter will be here." I said and she sighed in relief. "We'd never leave you guys alone." I said and she breathed out laugh.
"I don't know what I did to deserve you guys but thank you for having me." She said softly so I hugged.
"Anytime kid." I said and she laughed.
"Do you ever miss the way it used to be. You know before the apocalypse?" She asked and I smiled.
"Everyday." I said under my breath. "I just wish Faith could've witnessed and experienced it." I said before looking over at Faith. "Get in bed, buttercup." I told her and she climbed under the blankets.
"Goodnight." Xelia said before climbing into the bed next to ours.
"Goodnight." I said before blowing out the candle. I closed my eyes before slowly drifting off to sleep.
The next morning I woke up to a knock on the door.
"I'm up!" I yelled before sitting upright in bed. Xelia and Faith were still fast asleep so I carefully climbed out of bed before grabbing my towel. I went into the bathroom and took a quick shower before going back into our bedroom. I started pulling on some cargo pants and paired it with a black shirt. I slipped my feet into my black combat boots before shrugging my black jacket on.

I wrapped a scarf around my neck before combing my hair and pulling it into a ponytail. I closed the door behind me before going downstairs to meet the boys.
They greeted me and Noah handed me a cup of coffee so I thanked him before drinking the contents from my cup.
"We should get going." Elliot said seriously. "We can look for new places to stay when we're done." He said and I frowned.
"We can't stay here during the summer." Noah explained so I nodded. Kieran came into the kitchen before pouring some coffee for himself.
I placed my empty cup on the counter.
"It's not just because of the eight wave it's because of the water and the mutants." Elliot said with a frown on his forehead. "We need to be out of here in two weeks." He said and I nodded.
"You're right we can't do water runs everyday anymore and we need a place with generators. So let's go." I said and we went outside before getting into Noah's truck.
Elliot drove today and Kieran sat in the passenger seat while Noah sat in the back with me.
I placed my head on Noah's shoulder and he wrapped his arm around my shoulders before placing a kiss on my forehead.
After a ten minute drive we finally reached the town. The town was quiet as expected. We stopped at the gas station before filling up our tank. When we were done at the gas station we went to the supermarket but it was overrun by walkers.
Elliot drove down to another store with less walkers surrounding it so we climbed out of the car. Kieran stayed behind to keep watch while we went inside.
I killed an incoming zombie in front of the door and retrieved my axe from it's skull before entering the store and Elliot and Noah followed me inside after they killed the rest of the walkers, we sighed in relief when we were done. I grabbed a bottle of water before opening it and gulping it down.

"Easy money." Elliot said and Noah chuckled.
We each grabbed a cart before walking down different isles. I grabbed some medical supplies that I knew we'd need.
I'm on clothes duty and Elliot on food while Noah is on weapon duty.
I started grabbing some plain t-shirts before I touched something smooth. I screamed when I realized it was an arm.
"Oh my god bitch, stop screaming." A guy with long blonde hair said in frustration.
"Why are you hiding? Who are you?" I asked wildly.
"I was sleeping." He said in a duh tone and I frowned at him. "By the way my name is Mark. What's yours?" He asked curiously.
"Rosaleigh." I said hesitantly before continuing to throw clothes into my cart.
"It's so cold outside, the weather is just not giving." He said before standing next to me. "It's totally sending me, you know?" He asked and I nodded slowly in confusion.
"Oh my gosh not you not understanding me." He said before laughing at me.
"I just think you've been alone for too long." I said and he rolled his eyes at me. I saw a walker behind him so I cut my axe into its skull and he screamed in fear.
"Ro!" Elliot called and Mark's eyes widened. Elliot came walking towards me before taking his gun out in alert when he saw Mark.
"Elliot put the gun down." I said and he frowned at me.
"Who the fuck is this?" Elliot asked angrily.
"Oh I'm mark, what's your name daddy?" Mark asked and my mouth hung open before I started laughing.
"Fucking weirdo and before you ask he's not coming with us." Elliot said angrily.
"Why because I'm gay?" Mark asked and Elliot looked at him in annoyance.
"No, because I don't trust you." Elliot said before looking at me.
"He can help and Faith would love his humor." I said and Elliot clenched his jaw.
"Fine but he's the last one." He said before walking away from us.
"What does he mean the last one? That low-key sounds sus." Mark said and I sighed.
"Let's just say I make a lot of friends." I said and he nodded slowly before linking my arm with his.
"Have you noticed all the mutants around the Southside? Like where are they coming from it's so sus. I mean there hasn't been a government in like two years. The CDC was burnt down so who the fuck is in charge?" He asked before grabbing a bag of Cheetos.
"You're smart." I said and he shrugged.
"No I'm not, I graduated with a D. Also I'm blonde." He said and I smiled at him before we went to the front of the store.
"Who's the hunk?" Mark asked when he saw Noah.
"That's Noah and the guy from earlier is my brother Elliot and Kieran is outside." I explained and he nodded with a smile on his face.
We went outside and Kieran helped us get the bags in the trunk.
"Oh my gosh my bag." Mark said before running back inside.
"Now's the chance to leave him behind." Elliot said and Noah and Kieran bursted out into laughter.
"He's gonna get us killed." Kieran said as a few walkers came walking towards us.
"Just give him a chance, he's smart. That kids gonna blow your minds." I told them and they rolled their eyes at me before getting in the truck as Mark came back with his suitcase in hand.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
