《》Chapter 7: Happiness

Genesis woke up the next morning to a text. She was about to question who was texting her at this time of morning, when she realized it was actually time for her to get ready for school and she forgot to set an alarm. It was actually sunny outside today. To say Genesis couldn't believe it was an understatement.
Bella opened their door and looked at her like she was crazy. "I told you the sun would shine again on us, brother." Genesis quoted dramatically as she fell off the bed. Bella snorted and walked away to get dressed. "He's still dead, Gen." She called back. "I swear if he is then I'm starting a riot!" Genesis yelled back.
Hey, Gen. My siblings and I aren't going to school today because Carlisle, Esme, and Chandler wanted to take us out hiking since the weather is so nice. We were wondering; you want to come over today and hang out after school?
"Bella!" Genesis called to her sister. "Yeah?" She called back. "Would you be okay if I went over to the Cullen's after school?" She asked, hoping her sister would say yes. She was kind of hoping to see Carlisle again. She had grown a bit attached to the man. Though, it wasn't for his looks, as one would assume. It was for him being there and listening to her in her time of need. She vented to him a piece of information that she hadn't even told Bella, and she tells Bella everything.
Genesis was actually thinking about that. She didn't like keeping such a big piece of information away from her sister. But she didn't want Bella to worry about her. She wanted Bella to see her as her rock. As her strong, courageous sister that feared nothing but danger towards those around her. She wanted to be Bella's hero. To stay Bella's hero.
"Of course, Gen." Bella said, peeking through their door to smile at Genesis. Genesis smiled, "Thanks, Bell." Bella smiles back, "Yeah, yeah. Now go get dressed before we're late." She said walking off.
Have fun! I'll come over later, can't wait!
Sitting out in the sun, the kids of Forks High School soaked in as much sun as they could get before the never ending rain started up again. To be honest, Genesis didn't care too much for the suns rays. Not only did she burn easy, but it's hot. Why would she enjoy that? She caught Bella looking around and she realized she forgot to tell her that the Cullen's weren't here today.
"They're not here." Genesis said, snapping the girl out of her search. "Yeah. Whenever the weathers nice the Cullen's disappear." Jessica said. "Disappear?" Bella questioned. "They go hiking or camping with Doctor Cullen and their aunt and uncle." Jessica explained. "You couldn't have told me he wasn't here before?" Bella mumbled to Genesis.
"My bad." She mumbled back. Bella laughed a little and shrugged. "Hey, guys! I just asked Eric out to prom! I just asked him, and took control!" Angela said giddily. God bless this pure angel. "We should go prom shopping together!" She said happily. Genesis looked at Bella. Bella looked unsure. "Come on, Bells. We don't have to go to prom. We could just give them our opinions." Genesis tried convincing Bella.

Bella nodded with a smile, "Sure. I wanted to check out this new bookstore anyway." Bella agreed. "Yay! We'll meet you guys there at seven!" Angela said. Genesis realized that that meant she was going to have to text Rosalie and tell her she was going to have to leave early from their house.
Hey, Rose! I'm still coming over today. I just wanted to let you know that I wouldn't be able to stay long. My sisters friends are going prom dress shopping and Bella and I are going to check out a bookstore. I hope you don't mind.
The reply was almost immediate.
Of course it's alright, Gen. Don't sweat it. We're happy with the time we get with you.
Genesis smiled at the text. How did she get so lucky when it came to friends? Did she really deserve the Cullen's kindness?
Genesis had bid Bella goodbye before they parted ways for the afternoon. She planned to leave the Cullen's house at 6:30 so she could make it to the dress store on time. Genesis was deep in her thoughts as she drove down the road. She thought about how complete her life felt and how much happier she is now that she has the Cullen's.
Each one had shown her nothing but kindness and she couldn't feel anymore happier than she did not. After Carlisle had lifted a weight off her shoulders by listening to her story, she really felt at peace with herself. Carlisle. She wondered if he had told his family about what she talked about. She shook the thought away. No. She trusts him. And even if he had, she trusts the others too. But she knows he didn't tell them. She saw it in his eyes. She can trust him.
Genesis had finally made it to the Cullen house. She parked up front where she parked last time and got out, staring dreamily at the beautiful house just as she did the first time she came. She walked up the steps and knocked on the door, which was immediately opened by a smiling Esme.
"Genesis! It's so lovely to see you again! I was wondering when I was going to get to know you better." Esme said as she brought the girl inside and gave her a hug. Genesis smiled back at her. "It's lovely to see you too, Esme." She replied. Genesis looked up the stairs to see Chandler smiling down at the girls. He had been teasing Carlisle all day about her coming over and he was about to be thrown out of one of the top story windows when she showed up and her scent distracted Carlisle long enough for Chandler to speed away.
"Hey there, Gen. Its nice to see you again." Chandler called from his spot. "It's nice to see you too." She called back. Esme giggled and guided her up the stairs. "I hope you're hungry! I made too much food for the kids, so I was hoping that you would eat it." She laughed. "Even if I wasn't, which I am, I'd most likely eat it either way. It's smells delicious!" Genesis said, making both Chandler and Esme laugh.

"The kids are waiting for you up in Edward's room when you're done." Chandler said after handing Genesis a plate of food. Genesis was about to question why they were waiting for her in Edward's room, but when she turned around, the two were already heading up the stairs and into Edward's room.
Genesis took her plate to the island in their kitchen and sat on a stool, eating the food. It tastes as good as it smells. She would have to thank Esme and Chandler somehow. After finishing up, she saw the dishes still out from Esme's cooking and decided she'd thank them by cleaning them.
Halfway through the dishes, someone came around the corner, "Genesis?" Startled by the sudden noise, Genesis dropped the plate she was holding and watched as two hands grabbed it before it completely hit the floor. Genesis looked up to see Carlisle looking at the plate amusingly. "My apologies, I didn't mean to startle you." He apologized.
Genesis sighed and gave him a smile, "It's okay. I thought I would do the dishes for you guys as a Thanks for the dinner." She explained. "I wish I could do more. I am very grateful for your family. I've never felt this happy and at peace before." She sighed.
"You don't need to thank us, it's our pleasure, truly. And just you being here for us is thanks enough." He assured her. She smiled up at him, making him automatically smile back at her. She was beautiful in his eyes. Everything about her pulled him in. "Would you like me to help you?" He asked her. "Oh, you don't have to." She assured. "I insist." He replied.
The two washed dishes together and had small talk. Once they were done, they went upstairs and hung out with the Cullen children. They joked and gossiped on each other as classical music play from Edward's stereo. The Cullen's felt like they were almost whole with the girl there. They knew who they were missing, but she wouldn't come around for a bit longer.
They were all satisfied with just the one at the moment. Edward, of course loved the girl as if she were family, but he would never truly be satisfied without Bella there too. But for now, he was grateful to be on the good side of the older Swan. So when the time comes, everyone would be at peace with each other.
6:20 came quick and Genesis told them it was time for her to take her leave. They were sad, of course, but understood it wasn't time for her to be with them just yet. Carlisle walked her to her car, seeing as they had been talking before it was time for her to go. "So you really think cats and dogs can coexist with each other without harming one another?" Genesis asked.
"Well, I mean, they could if they both saw eye to eye." Carlisle answered. Genesis nodded her head, amused. Maybe they were cats. They did have golden eyes and cold skin. Cold. Just like a cats soul. "Well, I better get going. Bella would have my head if I made her sit through a fashion show I convinced her to go to by herself." She laughed. Carlisle chuckled, "Drive safe, Genesis." He said as he stood back from her car. "Will do." She replied, smiling at him one last time before making herself go.
She had really enjoyed her time with the Cullen's. She didn't have any bad thoughts or memories. She was just happy. She wanted the feeling to last forever. The feeling of her surrounded by her second family, next to Carlisle. She didn't know why she felt the way she did about him. She didn't exactly know what she felt about him. All she knew, is that he made her happy, and that's all that mattered.
The Cullen's all sat around the tv, watching some kind of show about two brothers hunting down the supernatural. "How do two humans think they would stand a chance against supernatural creatures?" Emmett questioned. Genesis had recommended them her favorite show, and now the Cullen's were all watching the show, amused at how they portrayed the supernatural.
"You'd think the one would have died when he fell off the bridge." Jasper commented. They continued watching, intrigued by the shows premise. Alice watched intently, that is, until her vision glossed over. Jasper noticed it first, feeling her tense from beside him. Edward notices and intruded into her head to get a look. Now everyone's attention was on Alice.
After a couple of moments, Alice screams, flailing her arms at an invisible target and falls to her knees dry sobbing. Jasper falls down to her to comfort his mate. Edward jumps up and looks at Carlisle, "They're in trouble. Port Angles bookstore. Let's go!" Edward says quickly as he speeds down to his car, Carlisle hot on his trail. "What's happening?" Carlisle asked. He wasn't bothering to take the car. He was going on foot. He didn't care if she found out. She trusted him. And he trusts her.
Edward looked at him and replied stiffly,
"Genesis's worst nightmare."
