《》Chapter 23: Wolfs Out of the Bag

Genesis and Bella were in their same spots again, sitting in their lonely depression. Genesis wondered how long it would take for Jacob to pull himself together. She also wondered if he knew about her and Bella's relationship with the Cullen's. It's obvious that he knew that Bella was with one, but did Sam tell him about her and Carlisle?
Bella stood up from her spot and grabbed her keys. Genesis stood up too, knowing the drill already. "Where to?" Genesis asked as they went out the door. "A meadow where Edward brought me." She answered. Genesis didn't say anything. What should she say? She knows it's probably not healthy to go down memory lane, but what they were doing at home wasn't healthy either.
Genesis and Bella were now walking through the woods to God knows where. Genesis wondered if Bella had lost her mind as they went through several trees with no opening in sight. If she didn't know any better, she'd think that Bella brought her here to kill her. But Bella wouldn't do that. Genesis was all she had left. And, if she did want to, she'd be to clumsy and scared to bring her down.
"There!" Bella exclaimed, bringing Genesis out of her wild imagination. Bella grabbed Genesis's wrist and pulled her into a clearing. Genesis rose an eyebrow. Bella had told her that this place was some kind of beautiful meadow. But it only looked like a clearing of grass. Genesis watched as Bella breathed in the scent of their surroundings. She was literally sniffing grass, but Genesis wasn't going to judge. This was the most peaceful she has seen Bella since they were hanging out with Jacob.
Just then, Genesis noticed someone in front of them. Laurent. Genesis took a protective step in front of Bella. "Genesis, Bella." He spoke. "Laurent," Bella breathed. "I didn't expect to find you two here. I went to visit the Cullen's, but the house is empty. I'm surprised they left you two behind." He said as He circled around them. "Aren't you guys like, pets of theirs?" He asked.
"You could say that." Bella said. "Do the Cullen's visit often?" He asked. Bella sucked in a breath from behind Genesis. "Yeah, absolutely, all the time." Genesis rolled her eyes. Laurent was smart enough to see through her half ass lies. The two talked back and forth, Genesis staying silent and vigilant. She was waiting for him to pounce. She knew he was here on Victoria's behalf. They were the reason why James was dead, after all.
Genesis couldn't blame Victoria. Sure, James was a low life vampire that was going to cheat on her, but she didn't know that. If Genesis were in her shoes, she'd be pissed too. Though, Genesis still wouldn't kill two bystanders that just happen to get them killed. Their humans, they didn't kill him. His actions is what got him killed.
Genesis thoughts were pushed away when Laurent got right in her face. "Don't." Genesis seethed. "If you're going to kill anyone, kill me." She said. "You know Victoria is just going to come back and finish the job." He told her. "They'll come back for her. I know they will." Genesis challenged. Laurent Thought for a moment. "Alright." He put his hand up. "Genesis, please, no!" Bella cries from behind her.

"Thank you." She whispered as she closed her eyes. She was thankful for her sister and parents. She was thankful for the Cullen's brief time in her life. She was thankful for the wolves friendship. And, most of all, she was thankful for Carlisle and all the love he gave her. The three heard a snap in the woods. Genesis opened her eyes and looked towards them only to see a familiar big black wolf jump at Laurent. It was Sam.
Then two others rann after Sam and Laurent, leaving one big brown wolf behind. Genesis recognized him instantly. Jacob. Bella stared at the wolf as it made eye contact with both girls before he sprinted off towards the others. Genesis grabbed Bella's hand and guided her back down the mountain. Genesis almost died. And, for once, she kind of wished she did.
Bella drug Genesis into the house where Charlie and Harry Clearwater talking at the kitchen table. Genesis had met Harry a while back and his wife and kids too. Leah was a bit of a character, but Genesis managed to make friends with her. Seth basically threw himself at her like a little brother. Genesis waved at him and gave him a sweet smile, which he gladly returned.
"Dad! They're wolves!" Bella exclaimed. Genesis gave Harry and apologetic stare and he nodded his head in understanding. "They were I the woods!" She continued. "Guys, What were you doing out in the woods?" Charlie asked. "Walking around. They were chasing something." Genesis spoke clearly, saving Bella's rambling ass.
Harry gave her a look that said he understood and looked back at Charlie. "Wolves. Okay. Harry, you think you can found up some of your boys?" Charlie asked. Harry gave a hesitant nod, "Yeah, sure." He said. Genesis felt bad. Harry was about to help take out his own tribe. But, knowing Harry, he'll figure something out.
"Why are you hung up on the wolves? They saved us, didn't they?" Genesis was trying to get Bella off the packs case without revealing what they really are. Keyword is trying. Bella was stubborn and for some reason didn't think back to when the Cullen's confirmed that it was other vampires. Was she now doubting them? Or, was she now trying to help the killer nomads? This didn't make any sense to Genesis.
"Yeah, but they were huge! They could have just wanted to kill Laurent and then come after us. They're most likely dead now anyway. Victoria's probably out there ready to strike." Bella said as she paced around. Genesis rolled her eyes. She knew that Bella didn't know about the pack or their strength. But did she really not see the terrified look on Laurent's face?
Just then, there was a tap at the window from what sounded like a rock. "Bella!" They heard the familiar voice of Jacob call out. Bella's eyes widened and she ran to the window and opened it. "Jake?" She called out. Genesis stood up and pulled Bella back as Jacob jumped in threw the window. "You know there's a door, right?" Genesis asked. "I'm not exactly supposed to be here." He said.

"Then why are you?" Bella asked angrily. "Look, I'm sorry." He apologized. Bella sighed, "For what?" She asked. "I wish I could explain, but I literally can't." He paced around. "Have you ever had a secret that wasn't yours to share?" He asked. Genesis almost snorted. She has like, two. "I hate this. I hate what they've done to you." She said. This girl had this boy around her pinky finger and Genesis almost forgot she was still harping on Edward.
Jacob held Bella wrist in his hand and noticed the teeth marks James left. He looked over to Genesis, who was wearing a long sleeve shirt and some shorts, and saw the scars on her legs. He stood up from his seat on her bed. "So you two already know about the killer parts." He seethed. To be fair, Genesis could make him eat those words right now by taking off her shirt, but she's not an asshole so she's gonna let him have his moment.
"Do you guys remember that day on the beach? The story I told you?" He asked them, well, mostly Bella. "Yeah. The cold ones." Bella said. Genesis almost threw something. Everyone knows werewolves and vampires are enemies! What is she thinking? Was one going to have to literally shift in front of her to get her to understand?
"There has to be something you can do." Bella said. "No. I'm in it for life." He said. This was really starting to sound more like a cult than a werewolf tribe. "We could get away. Go somewhere. Just me, you, and Genesis." Bella tried compromising. That sounded weird. Genesis was either going to be a third wheel or pulled into some kind of strange coupling. Genesis forgot what Paul called three people couples. Sam had smacked him after telling her and that's all she could remember.
"You guys would do that for me?" Jacob asked. "We'd do anything for you." Genesis finally spoke up. Jacob could have ran away right then if he could. Both of the girls he had a crush on were willing to go off with him somewhere. He knew his thoughts were lewd and childish, but he couldn't help but think of the possibilities in that moment.
There was something heard outside and Jacob sighed. "As great as that sounds, I can't." He said before jumping out of the window. "Jake!" Bella called out to him. Jacob didn't turn back. He left through the woods. Bella turned back to Genesis with a weird expression. "It sounded like I asked him to a threesome." She said as she scrunched up her nose in disgust. Genesis tilted her head.
"What's a threesome?"
The next day, Bella pulled Genesis from the floor once again. "I swear. One of these days you're going to pull me up and my arms are gonna fall off." Genesis sassed. "Don't get sassy with me. Let's go." Bella said as she dragged Genesis to her truck. Genesis already knew where this was going. She hoped that this time Bella would finally figure it out. Genesis swears that Bella is smarter than this. She guessed the lack of sleep and mental health was what was messing with her head.
Speaking of lack of sleep, Genesis wondered what was going to happen to her. She hadn't been sleeping right for months and she knew that it was going to catch up to her and bite her in the ass. She wouldn't die, obviously. But she knows that at literally any moment, she could fall out and sleep for like, forty eight hours.
Bella stopped in front of Billy's and jumped out of the car. Here we go again. Genesis sighed as she watched Bella knock on the door and slip past poor Billy. Genesis looked up when she heard talking from the woods. She smiled seeing the familiar faces of her friends. She ran up to them happily. The boys smiled at her, happy to see her after so long. She gave them each a hug, making them all embarrassed.
"What's up, Gen? I thought you'd never get away from Bella." Paul said. "Hey!" They heard Bella's voice call from a far. Genesis sighed, "I didn't." Bella ran up to them and started getting in the boys face, pushing a bit on Paul. "What did you do? What did you do to him? He didn't want this!" She rambled on. "What did we do? What did he tell you?" Paul questioned. "Nothing! He tells me nothing because he's afraid of you!" She accused.
Genesis covered her mouth to keep from laughing at her accusations. Paul started laughing and Genesis heard a loud pop. Her eyes widened. Of all the things her sister could of done, she decided to slap the most short tempered man in the group. Paul was furious and he started shaking. "It's too late now." Someone said. "Get back!" Sam told the two girls. Genesis grabbed Bella and pushed her behind her.
Her eyes widened. It was going to happen again. Paul shifted, but Genesis didn't feel claws cut through her skin. Instead, a body tackled her to the ground before she could get hit. She looked up and Sam was on top of her, shielding her from Paul's wrath. She turned to see Bella running and Jacob jump over her and shift into his wolf form.
"Thanks Sam." She said as he helped her up. "You guys really need to stop trying to use me as a scratching post." She huffed. Sam tolles his eyes. "We told you that you were family, I'm not gonna just let you get clawed to death." He said. "You should probably get them under control." She smirked. He looked back to Jacob and Paul. "Guess you're right." He sighed.
"Take them to Emily's."
