The next morning, I woke up with the alarm blaring on my cracked phone. I was on the floor, with papers around me. I had fallen asleep on the floor again.

I stood up with immense pain in my back from the position I was in, took the papers and kept them neatly in my bag, and got freshened up. It was 8 am and I had slept around 4 in the morning. I was more than an assistant to Caroline. I seriously sometimes thought 'was I underpaid?' maybe. or the assistant had to do so much work.

I had just gotten out of the cold shower; I didn't have enough money to get a hot shower daily and now I was accustomed to it. When you don't get things, you start accepting your life without it. You get used to it, your body and brain get used to it.

I answered Caroline's call. She calls me any time of the day. Anytime.

"Listen here, go to Angelo's and get all of the dresses from them and meet me in half an hour. I'll cut your pay if you don't" and the line went dead.

I told ya, she ain't good. She's evil in disguise. But she's paying me.

I immediately wore my black high-rise ripped skinny jeans with a gray top and my one decent pair of shoes. I didn't have the time to match my outfit properly. Sometimes I just thank the sales, otherwise, I would be having torn outfits every day.

I took my purse and filled it with the important stuff, and dashed out to get the bus. I was kind of happy that I missed breakfast, at least I could eat one extra day. I reached Angelo's penthouse and asked for their dresses. It took them 7 whole minutes to give me those 7 dresses which I had to manage on my way. I couldn't even ask for help.

Rushing out of their house, I reached my workplace 7 minutes late. Caroline will have my head as her lunch today. Though I doubt that, looking at her hatred towards me. She'll just excuse me with disgust. But that's fine

"You had to be late! Go get my black coffee now, mutt" She yelled. Here comes my migraine.

Black coffee with 3 spoons of sugar. That thing tastes nasty.

Insults here and there. Yelling here and there and me rolling my eyes, and trying not to take the aspirin had the day end.

Once I get my paycheck, I need to buy a coat/jacket for myself. My gloves also needed to be changed but after a few months, they were kind of okay. Luckily the blanket was in good shape.

In short, I needed everything new and a new life too.

Today, I didn't meet him. I was too tired to go there and also, I missed all of my meals. Eating the granola bar, and drinking a lot of water, I called it a day and slept.

I sure was underpaid.

And unloved.

But that's fine.

I have me. And that's the problem now.
