Caspian's irritation has only grown since they left breakfast a short while ago. The king's plans to visit the village to greet and spend time with his people was first on their list. Princess Lena was beaming believing they would traveling by carriage so she may have time with Caspian... She was utterly wrong. Due to Vatalanie's disdain for the contraption, Caspian decided to travel by horse so Vatalanie may accompany him. The king thought it may be a good idea for them all to travel by horse back much to Lena's horror.
Lena has been complain thus far heading towards the village. Her own adviser attempting to ignore her as she continues.
"Oh Caspian, why on earth couldn't your... pet stay at the castle?"
Vatalanie is quick to snarl out hearing the painted dolls comment in regards to her. He now understands that she comprehends everything that is said. Caspian smirks down at the wolf before turning to Lena. She continues to try fixing her hair that is falling out of it's up-do as she is jostled around riding on the back of the horse.
"Princess, she is not my pet. She is my companion. Please watch how you address her... She doesn't take likely to the tone."
Lena grits her teeth to stop her mouth from letting the on slaughter of comments come tumbling out. She looks down at the she wolf who has went back to looking forward wondering how on earth she is going to make any hedge way with the vulgar creature staying so near to her prize. As if the wolf can feel her stare, the wolf whips it's head looking directly at the princess who gulps under the narrow gaze.
She turns back front as a young cloaked figure begins walking on the side of the path. For once she is shocked to see the she wolf has removed itself from the prince. She takes the opportunity to steer her horse adjacent to his.
Caspian doesn't even notice as Lena attempts to mold herself to his side. His eyes glued on the hidden figure as Vatalanie greets him. He then recognizes the familiar cloak. Clicking his heels against the horse to have him trot up to Vatalanie.
The king stays back with two of his guards watching carefully over his son. He holds his hand up to stop the guards from interfering with the prince. Lena looks to the king seeing his inquisitive stare before turning back to the prince as well.
Caspian sees the familiar blonde hair and blue eyes look up at him. He notices how Navene seems to be nervous. He dismounts his horse rubbing the horse's mane. Navene reaches down rubbing Vatalanie's coat as Vatalanie nudges her head against the welcoming hand. Caspian looks around and then notices the familiar eyes of Tesara just behind the bush to the left. He steps to the side kneeling down with his palm up before Tesara allows her presence to be seen.

Lena gasp seeing another wolf stepping out of the bushels towards the prince. The king then realizes who the figure is and taps the horse's side to have him move forward. Lena and the guards following closely behind.
Navene goes stiff seeing the newcomers joining him. Tesara can sense her friend's discomfort and stands beside him nuzzling her head to his legs. Navene's gaze looking down seeing the reflective eyes that has calmed him over the years.
"Navene"
"Your Majesty"
Navene slightly bows showing his respect to his king. The wolves following suit not only surprising the guards but the princess as well. Caspian just smirks seeing how intelligent the wolves are.
"What brings you out so far?"
Navene looks to the princess and can see her disgust clear as day. His shoulders slack making him appear smaller under her scrutinizing gaze. Vatalanie and Tesara are quick to notice the difference and step forward growling looking directly at her. She gasp hearing the sound as the other's look to the wolves as if sensing something is wrong. The gaze flowing between the wolves to the princess.
"You YOU... BEASTS! Caspian do something!"
The wolves step forward at the harsh voice. Navene is quick to move forward putting his hands up. They instantly settle beside him however their narrowed gaze never wavering from the banshee.
Caspian looks back to Navene and then just now realizes what's missing. He looks around knowing she would never be too far away from Navene but doesn't catch sight of her cloaked figure anywhere. He looks back to Navene. The young boy's eyes going wide realizing he figured it out.
"Navene, where is Artemis?" Lena scoffs but Caspian doesn't care as he awaits an answer. Navene clears his throat before looking down.
"She is um... occupied sir." Navene turns around making sure she is not near before closing his eyes and tries to focus.
My love? Can you hear me??
He opens his eyes awaiting an answer that never comes. His nerves spiking as he turns to his father who has a confused look upon his face. He swiftly turns back to Navene who has a crest fallen look upon his face.
"Navene, do you know where she is?" The king ask trying to soothe his son.
"No your highness." Navene says not lying to him.
Lena watches on with a grin growing realizing this Artemis woman must be the one she saw with the prince. Now that she is gone... he will have no other distractions from her.
The king notices the fear look upon Caspian's face and feels sorrowful but knows that something is... off with this situation. He has not seen Artemis leave Navene for more than short periods of time and never did he not know where she was at. He knows that Caspian will be distraught until he has answers but he also has to learn to rule above his emotions.

"Navene, are you heading back to the castle?"
"Yes your majesty"
"We will be back in a bit, will you be okay to head back on your own?" Navene nods his head at the king before stepping to Caspian. Caspian's worrisome eyes gazing at him.
"Caspian, she is safe... she will return." He whispers to not let the others hear.
"How could you know that?" Caspian whispers back equally as low.
"She is currently with a rescue and she will return because she has reason to."
Caspian nods his head as his shoulders slack. Navene begins walking away as Tesara nudges her mother's head before following closely behind. Vatalanie then rubs against Caspian's legs before he gently brushes her and remounts his horse. He looks back at his dad who gives him a reassuring smile. He then glances at Lena who couldn't look more pleased. His rage building seeing her happiness while he is distraught.
"Let's go great our people son." Caspian just gives a jerky nod before tapping his horse's side. They all begin their journey when Caspian's muscles relax hearing the voice he yearned to hear.
My Prince, I will return shortly... Fear not, my love.
He smiles gently as they make their way to the outskirts of town. They begin greeting the villagers while miles away Artemis is on an entirely new adventure. After Kaleo had her hoist herself onto him, she has traveled the skies. Seeing the rays of light dance upon the vast clouds littering the boundless wander. She allowed her arms to expand as if wings to her side while Kaleo became amused by his little savior.
She felt the pull the moment someone was trying to connect with her however over such a distant making it tremendously hard. She focused and was able to hear the distraught in Caspian's voice causing her to focus entirely to get him a message before no longer possible. She felt the tension leave her body allowing her to know he received her message.
She is pulled out of her thoughts as the young dragon lands high up on a mountain side. The coldness hitting her like a blanket. Pulling the cloak closer to her, Kaleo steps closer trying to take the blunt of the wind off of her. Artemis rubs his side in a silent thanks to him. He begins walking slowly as Artemis looks around but not recognizing any familiar surroundings. A loud earth shattering roar stops her. The mountain rattling with the vibrations from the voice. Kaleo wraps his tail around her bringing her comfort she desperately needed to continue.
Kaleo keeps her close realizing this will not come easily but he knows his mother needs her. He goes to the cave entrance making the familiar sound warning his mother of his arrival. She has been known to blow fire when not warned. Artemis can see very little in the darkness of the caverns but she continues along with the dark dragon's lead.
They get to an opening in the cave in the very center of the mountain where she can hear water and see light penetrating from the top illuminating the darkness. Her eyes go wide as she sees a very large dragon curled up in front of them. The size alone enough to terrify Artemis but she can clearly tell the pain of the creature. This allows her fears to melt away as her mind wills her to focus on helping the dragon.
Kaleo releases his hold from her waist and steps to his mom nudging her head with his own. Her heavy eyes barely focusing while her short breaths come in and out. Her chest heaving fast. Kaleo looks back to his savior.
Artemis, she is expecting
Artemis' eyes go wide realizing she has never met a dragon before a few days ago let alone help one give birth. She takes a deep breath before stepping forward. The large creature's eyes now opening enough to notice another figure is present. She bares her teeth growling lowly at the intruder but her tiredness not allowing her to sit up.
Artemis knows this is how most creatures act to begin with when she comes near. She does not fear the snarl the large dragon emits. She bows to the creature showing her pure respect as she begins humming. Kaleo allows her hypnotizing voice to roll through him as he looks to his mother who seems to have relaxed slightly.
Artemis stands back up walking to the large head never feeling as minuet as in this moment. Placing her hand between her two nostrils feeling her hot breathing coming out staggeringly. She continues humming as she makes the connection.
My name is Artemis... I am hear to help
