《Grace》Chapter 6

Just like Dro said, there is an all black SUV waiting at the hospital with a man in all black standing at the door.
"Seems like the president is here," Tre joked but I didn't laugh.
"I'll see you later," I told him as I stepped towards the car.
"This is for you? What?" He smiled. "Is Andre taking you out?!"
"I'll explain later," I faked a smile and waved bye to him. The man in black opened the car door for me and then got in after me.
"So you're the new nurse?" The guy asked.
"New? There was one before me?" I asked.
He laughed. "Of course, right before Mr. Colombo put a bullet in his head," my palms began sweating but I didn't show any emotion. "You're not going to freak out are you?"
"No, that was none of my business," I simply said and he nodded. "What's your name?" I asked. God, I don't know why I even asked him. Maybe it's because he seems friendly.
"They call me Tarzan," he smiled.
"Why?" I asked and he chuckled.
"Hopefully you won't have to find out," his English accent sounded so damn fine.
"What're you guys? The mafia of good looking?" I asked and he laughed. He sure laughs more than his boss.
"Maybe. I'm actually the man Mr. Colombo calls for dangerous....." he trailed off looking for a word. "Missions, which is why I'm a little confused as to why I'm here with you.The only thing dangerous is that pretty little face of yours," he winked and I blushed.
"Mr. Colombo doesn't think of me as a threat, I'm literally in the palm of his hands and I think I've run out of chances," he knows I don't want Andre dead and I've ran my mouth too much to him, now I know he's not one to take people talking back to him.
"I know everything about you," Tarzan leaned back. "Beautiful Jamaican girl, twenty four, has a son and a boyfriend. Your boyfriend just got out of prison and-"
"Okay!" I cut him off and he looked at me.
"Mr. Colombo was right, you do like cutting people off," he smiled. He's like the polar opposite of Dro.
"Who is he to you?" I asked and he gave me a big smile.
"My best friend," he said and then the car stopped. "We're here," he moved closer to me and put something over my eyes.
"What the fuck?!" I exclaimed.
"Chill, or I'm going to have to chloroform you," he whispered to me but I kept moving.
I felt like a thousand pounds as I lifted my hand to my head. I looked around to see bright lights and someone grabbing my arm. "Andre! Please no!" I screamed and then I jumped. Sweat all over my body. Did he really chloroform me?
"Who's Andre?" A male voice asked. I turned my head slowly to see a doctor or who I'm assuming is one. The white coat gives it away.
"Who are you?" I asked back. He laughed and I rolled my eyes, are all these men just going to look like they came straight out of GQ magazine?

"Dr. Velez," he smiled at me then walked over to me and handed me a water bottle and two small pills. "Aspirin," he told me but I stared at him. I was just unconscious and now he wants to give me pills? "I'm not trying to drug you, trust me I'm not like them," I stared at him for a bit before taking the pills.
About 20 minutes of waiting for Mr. Colombo before my head started to feel better. "Does he always take this long?" I asked.
"For the most part. I get paid for sitting around waiting for something to happen," Dr. Velez shrugged.
"So half of the time, you or we do nothing?" I clarified and he nodded.
"But when men come in, trust me you're going to wish we were sitting around doing nothing," he said.
"Better be grateful you get paid to do nothing," I heard an all too familiar voice. I stood up when I saw Dro come into sight.
"I am," Dr. Velez simply said. I'm guessing he gets a doctors salary or higher but not the doctors work.
"Grace," Dro looked at me and nodded.
"Mr. Colombo," I said back and he smirked.
"Follow me," he demanded and I looked at Dr. Velez as I walked out and he simply shrugged. Apparently the "hospital" is in a basement and it leads into a huge house.
My mouth dropped as my ugly nurse shoes touched the white marbled floors and my head tilted back to look up at the tall ceiling that looks like a ceiling from a fancy museum. Fancy pictures hung on the all white walls, white chairs placed strategically around the room and some parts of the marble has variations of brown. A beautiful chandelier hung from the ceiling and the door frames are lined with gold.
"Close your mouth, it'll dry out," Dro said with a stale face. I quickly shut my mouth and spun in a circle to get everything in my head.
"Your home is beautiful," I said to him and he chuckled.
"This isn't my home," his deep Italian voice said that made my skin transform into goosebumps.
"It's mine," an even deeper voice said from behind us. I looked around to see no one. Dro chuckled at me and I pouted.
"Over here!" The voice said again. As I turned I could clearly see Mr. Colombo, the original. Dro's grandfather. "You still look beautiful," he walked over and hugged me.
"Everything is good?" I asked and hugged him back. Dro took a step back as we talked.
"Everything is fine thanks to you," he lifted my hand and kissed it. "Hm, beautiful hands. Why aren't they done?" That's the same thing his grandson said to me. Dro chuckled but I ignored it.
Mr. Colombo told me to call his grandson by the initials AJ for the time being, so I don't confuse them. He didn't show me around, but it's not like I was expecting it. The walk we took was long and drawn out but we ended up in a kitchen. It followed the theme of the rest of the house and it's simply beautiful but elegant. These men really make money.

"Can you cook?" Mr. Colombo asked me. I nodded. "Now that's not why you're here but sometimes the doctor stays for days without going home and I need him to eat so he can take care of my men," he explained. I didn't say anything, just nodded.
"Mr. Colombo, she needs to get back to her post," Dro or AJ said and his grandfather nodded. He led me away from the kitchen and back down the long but extravagant hallway that leads to the basement door. I wanted to talk to him but I know he doesn't like when I talk without being spoken to.
He allowed me to walk in front of him as we walked down the stairs. My back began aching from where Andre stomped on it a few days ago.
"Ah," I stopped walking as the pain increased. My right hand held onto the stair railing as my left grabbed my back to try and relieve the pain. "Ahh," I cried out as tears began to prickle my ears.
"Are you okay?" Dro asked but I couldn't answer him, it felt like the wind was knocked out of me. "Grace?!" He shouted and I managed to shake my head. He swiftly picked me up, bridal style, and quickly went downstairs and called the doctor.
"What's wrong with her?" Dr. Velez asked.
"I don't know, she started grabbing her back and then she couldn't talk," he said calmly. Is everything he do calm?
"Take off her scrubs," the doctor ordered and I panicked. They're about to see my body full of bruises and cuts. Dro followed instructions of the doctor and carefully took off my clothes, leaving me in my black boy shorts and matching bra. "Oh my God," I turned my face in shame.
No one said anything as they looked at my bruises. The doctor opened and closed his mouth multiple times but never said anything. He gently touched all of my bruises. "Can you turn on your back?" He asked and I nodded. It hurt but I pushed past it and laid on my stomach. "Oh my," he said again.
I had to look at Dro as the doctor moved my neck a few times then told me to keep it there. He scanned my body multiple times then closed his eyes. When he opened them he stared at me with disgust written all over his face.
"And you continue to fucking stay?" Was all his calm voice asked before he turned away.
"Mr. Colombo, I think I'll need your help," Dr. Velez said.
"Fuck her," was all I heard as he walked up the stairs. After the doctor cleaned my back off, he began plucking out little glass shards that stayed in my back from the other night.
"Doc," my favorite voice called down. Reno ran down the stairs but stopped as he saw me almost naked. "Grace?" He asked. I winced as the doctor had to pull extra hard to get a piece of glass out. As he took it out, the pain in my back went away.
"That was it," I mumbled. The doc continued to pull glass out of my back and when he was done, he cleaned my back then bandage wrapped my torso.
"I need to take some blood work to make sure nothing else is wrong with you, also I need to do a full body X-ray," Velez said and I nodded.
"You have that all in here?" I asked surprised but then again I should've known. They need everything from a real hospital because they all refuse to go to one.
"Hi Reno," I waved as I sat up. He just stared at me and then walked over to me.
"He did that all to you?" He asked and I nodded. "Gracie," he shook his head as if I was his little sister or something. "You need to leave him," he stepped out of the doctors way as he drew blood from my vein.
"I know," I said. Reno shook his head again then excused himself.
"Here," Velez handed me new scrubs. "So you won't be naked anymore, amazing body by the way," he winked and I nodded. "Oh honey, don't take it the wrong way," he started off. "I like men, just not these big scary ones," I felt a little bit more comfortable with being almost naked around him.
I slipped on the scrubs and as usual, they hugged onto my body like a gloved. My mother is always saying that I got her body and I should be grateful that I didn't get my fathers side of the family's body type. Not that I knew him or them anyways.
"Have you been sexually active?" Velez asked after a while of quietness. I nodded and he turned to me. "Your blood tests say your pregnant, everything else is good." He looked me in my eye and I wanted to grabbed my uterus and throw it away. I can't be pregnant with this mans baby again.
"How far along?" I asked and he shrugged. "Can you check that or no?" I asked and he made a face. He then disappeared for a few minutes then came back with a machine on a rolly.
"I can check, they bought everything, don't know why but I guess it came in handy," Velez said as he set the machine up. As he did that I contemplated if I want to keep this baby or not. I'm usually not one to speak on abortions because I feel like it's not my business but I never really supported it. But I'm 23 with a kid and now I'm going to have another one, I don't want to become another stereotype.
"Are you okay?" Velez asked again then I nodded. "I've been talking to you for a while now and you didn't hear anything,"
"I'm sorry," I played with my hair.
"I said you're only a two months or 8 weeks," Velez said.
"So I can still get an abortion?" I asked and he nodded. "I don't want one but-" I shook my head. "I don't know what to do,"
"You'll know," he smiled at me and I sighed. Should I keep this child? I'll never know what he or she is going to be in life.
