《Grace》Chapter 41

"I'm glad you came back," She smiled at me and I returned one. "Will I see you again soon?" She asked.

"Indeed," I nodded at her then collected my things. I've been seeing Dr. Montoya, the therapist Dro introduced for almost two months now. I wasn't consistent at first, didn't open up like I should've in the beginning but God am I glad I did.

I've been feeling like myself again. In all truth, the best I've ever felt. I just had a lot of things to actually talk about and get the closure to, things from my childhood that affected me in my adulthood.

"Enjoy your trip," She smiled at me and held the door as I walked out of her office. The red heels that laced my feet gave my hips and extra sway. Soon I was met with outside air and the summer New York sun burned my eyes.

"Damn it's hot," I said out loud before I slipped my sunglasses on. The shorts that hugged my body didn't help with the burning of the sun.

"Yes you are," a voice chirped behind me. I was met with big brown eyes and dark smooth skin.

"That's cheesy and rude," I gave him a face that surely showed my disgust. I unlocked the door the my car and held my bag closer to myself.

"I apologize, you are a beautiful woman though," He smiled at me and my legs buckled. His dark skin looked beautiful against his deep blue suit, his honey brown eyes glistening against his perfect smile, and the sun. Huh?

I didn't say anything else to him. Just got into my car and started the engine. "Enjoy your day,"

"Calvin," He smiled. "Calvin Gaines,"

Again, I ignored him and shut the door and quickly locked it. He can no longer see my face, the tints in my windows are too dark for that. I pulled out of the parking lot a little rattled. Who the hell is that man? Introducing himself to me out of nowhere?

I quickly called Alessandro. The phone trilled over my car stereo for less than a second before he picked up.

"Yes love?" His deep voice rang. I can just feel myself hush down below.

"Does the name Calvin Gaines ring a bell to you?" I asked him.

"No?" He sounded confused. "Why what happened?"

I explained everything to him and he groaned. "The man was hitting on you, did you call to brag?"

"I was just making sure," I laughed. "Are you jealous Mr. Colombo?"

"Grace, you know good and damn well I am. He's lucky I couldn't pick you up today or else-," He stopped himself and then I heard whispering.

"Babe?" I asked.

"I have to go, I love you,"

"I lov-," He hung your before I could even finish.

Strange.

My phone rang and I smirked at the name.

"Yes Shay," I laughed before she even answered because the excitement is flowing out of me.

"BITCH ARE YOU DONE YET?" She yelled which made me laugh even more. "I'm so ready and if you take five minutes longer Reno is going to call me and change his mind," She whined.

Dro, Reno and Tarzan are our biggest enemies. We had to practically beg them to let us have this weekend trip and we can't even leave the state of New York so we chose Hamptons. We're having a bougie weekend at our men's expense.

I don't usually take advantage of Alessandro's money unless it's for the kids or the house. He begs me to go on shopping sprees and claim it's healthy for me, his mother must've told him that one. Either way I haven't indulged like I am about to this weekend, Shay on the other hand I can't speak for her. Poor Reno but trust when I say, he loves her spending money.

"I will literally be there soon, like pulling in right now soon," I can see her peeking out the front windows and then she squealed.

"About time," I heard my sister chime in from behind her. These girls.

After parking my SUV, I got out to open my trunk so that Shay and my sister could put their luggage in. Where are the men when you need them with all of Shay's stuff?

"Damn you plan on moving there?" I asked her and she laughed.

"Listen woman, just worry about how you're going to breastfeed," She wiggled her fingers around my breasts.

"I have that figured out," I smiled. "I got this breast pump that just sits in your bra and then you replace the bags,"

"And that cooler is for your liquid gold huh?" Renee asked in amusement.

"Yep, hurry up and get in so we can gooooo," I whined. I finally locked my trunk and we gathered into my car.

"Let's say a prayer," Renee looked at us then hung her head.

"Oh she's serious," Shay laughed. "Okay girl," She hung her head and I rolled my eyes but followed them.

"Lord God, we thank you for allowing our men to let us embark on this journey. We thank you for another day of breath, another chance at life. I pray over Grace and her breastmilk since she is going to taste wonderful wine that you turned from water Lord. I thank you for allowing Shay to be a mother so she has a drinking limit now-,"

"Lordddd thank you for me having a babysitter," Shay pitched in.

Are these two serious right now? She needs to hurry before I ask God to have her walls of Jericho tumble down.

"I pray for safe journeys and travels, and fun. Amen," Renee finished.

"I hate y'all," I rolled me eyes after saying 'amen' to that wonderful prayer.

My mind raced as I thought about Grace. Her phones GPS indicated that she's almost at the hotel in the Hampton's. The guys and I had a long talk about it and it all boiled down to me and Grace. They are a little worried about me claiming that I'm back to my "cold, hard demeanor" and that I'm starting to act "irrationally". Ok. The women have made complaints about Grace falling into a deep depression so for our happiness we allowed them to go. Specifically Grace.

"Boss," Reno's deep voice snatched my thoughts of my fiancé.

"Yeah," I looked at him and he looked annoyed. "Well fucking talk,"

He sighed. "There's been a problem. We have to take a trip,"

Dammit. Now I have to leave the kids with them for longer and my anxiety will be at an all high. I smirked. Anxiety. Thanks Dr. Montoya.

"Are you going to tell me what going on?"

"It's about two things. One, we have to be in Philly no later than tomorrow," He paused. Shit. I've been enjoying no commotion.

"And two?" My eyebrows raised. He hesitated.

"The girls have a situation at the hotel," He slowly said.

My heart sunk. Grace.

I walked over to my gun safe. There's already one in my blazer pocket, one in my hip but I like to rotate my guns. I don't know, to match my outfits I guess.

If something happened to her.

No.

"Let's go," I huffed once I was satisfied with my gun choices. My thumbs ran my bullet proof vest, something I invested in a few years ago, satisfied.
