《Hidden Riches》Chapter 48

"Welcome home," Logan said as I walked through the door. He was in the kitchen, cooking food in a big pot.
"Hey," I walked towards him and kissed him on the lips. He gave me a big smile.
The guards came in slowly behind us with my dress, trying not to be noticed.
"Did every thing go along smoothly today, Bunny?" Logan asked. "Did you have fun?"
"Yep! I had a lot of fun. What are you making for dinner?" I asked, standing on my toes to look into the big pot.
"Spaghetti. Hungry?"
"Definitely."
"Take off your stuff first. After, we can eat."
I went back into the living room and took off my shoes, my jacket and my purse. I washed my hands, then hopped back into the kitchen. I sat at the table and waited for the meal to be done.
As I sat there, I thought about what Violet said. Will she be getting my clothes for me? If so, no way! I would hate for her to know what I'll be wearing on my wedding night.
"Something on your mind?" Logan asked as he set a plate of spaghetti before me.
"Just something Violet told me. It's nothing." I looked down so he wouldn't see my blush. This is so embarrassing.
"Is it about our wedding night?" He asked with a smile.
"Umm...." I turned my head away. "Maybe..."
"Really? Why don't you tell me? There's no shame in talking about it, right?"
"There is! There is shame!" I said.
"I have none. Why do you?"
"Logan, it won't be your first time. Of course you don't have any shame."
"Bunny, can I tell you something?" He became serious for a moment. He sat down the a chair across from me and looked into my eyes.

"What is it?" I asked
"I haven't had sex in almost a year. On our wedding night, it'll feel like my first all over again but...this time it's different. Do you want to know why?"
"Because we'll be married."
"Yes, but also... I love you. I didn't love those other girls. But, I love you."
"I love you too, Logan. But... when it happens... could you treat me like I'm your first? It'll make me happy."
"Of course, Bunny. I want you to be happy."
After we finished dinner, we did the dishes together. We splashed water every where and I got slapped with the dish rag. I laughed the entire time.
Once we finished, we showered then headed off to bed.
Logan reached up and turned off the lamp beside the bed. I moved closer to him. His big arms quickly circled my body. I lay my head on his warm chest. If I listened closely, I could hear the faint sound of his heart beat. It sounded wonderful. I could listen to it everyday.
"Bunny?"
"Yeah?" I looked up at him. "Something on your mind?"
"Are you still... in pain?"
I reached down and slowly reached my scar. I ran my fingers across the mark and winced.
"Yeah, a little. In a few weeks, I should be healed completely. Don't worry about it."
"Bunny, whenever I close my eyes... that scene plays in my head all over again. I don't want to go to sleep."
I placed my hand on his warm cheek. "Hey, I'm here. I get scared too, but I'm still here. I'm going to stay with you no matter what, Logan. You can sleep well tonight."
He took my palm to his lips and kissed it. "I love you so much, Bunny." he whispered. "I can't wait to marry you."

I watched as the guards placed my dress inside a giant closet with the rest of my wedding items. Violet had come over earlier and given me a big bag full of lingerie. I didn't look inside, though. I was too embarrassed.
"Bunny! Your phone is ringing!" Logan yelled for me up the stairs.
"Coming!" I left the guards behind and ran up the stairs. My phone was sitting on the table, buzzing loudly. I took it from the table and looked at the caller ID. It was my mother.
I answered the phone. "Hello?"
"Hi honey, this is your Mommy." her smooth voice spoke over the phone.
"Yeah, I know. Why are you calling?"
"I wanted to talk to you about the wedding."
"I already know you and Dad aren't coming. There is no reason to talk about this further."
"W-we changed our minds."
"What?"
"Your father and I want to come to the wedding now. We changed our minds."
"Really? Why?"
"Honey, I- I talked to someone."
"Who?"
She was silent for a moment.
"Who Mom?" I repeated.
"Honey, it doesn't matter who. I just realized that you've come a really long way. You've been through some much crap with your old boyfriend and jealous girls. You and Logan have tried so hard to stay together and I respect that. You're so strong, honey. I am so very proud of you and I want you to be happy. I want to watch you walk down the isle with your new husband."
I couldn't believe what she was saying. She changed her mind very quickly.
Who on earth could've talked to her?
"O-okay. Thank you so much, Mom. I'll glad you changed your mind. I'll see you at the wedding."
"I love you so much, sweetheart." she sweetly said. "I can't wait for the day."
"I love you too, Mom." After that, I hung up and hurried to tell Logan the good news.
