《It's Just As Cold Outside -[ Sonic Reader Insert ]》[10] The Hero and His Villain

The famous hedgehog, the greatest hero of his time, Sonic, had appeared. You were helping your greatest enemy. Previously of course. But still all the edge and fear was there, re emerging at what might happen between you two. This was the first time in 5 years you would be face to face.
"Sorry ma'am we need to get you to!-" Sonic had appeared behind you, assuming you were another villager from Floral Forest.
You turned around slowly, eventually making eye contact with the blue hero. You shocking (e/c) met his concerned emerald ones, unsure of what to think of the other.
"(N/n)..." His eyes narrowed and his hands curled into fists. You could tell Sonic was deadly angry. When you noticed his fists, it made you more frightened. Your helmet was off, you were exposed, and you were reminded that Sonic was infected.
"I'll apologize and grovel at your feet later, we need to save this village first." You swept your helmet off the ground and took off, using that excuse to really just get out of his way and save the rabbit family as fast as you could.
Sonic caught up to you easily as the two of you ran towards the local Freedom Fighter's residence. "What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Don't act like you don't know I was released to help you." You gawked back, keeping your eyes forwards as you dodged and blocked some incoming attacks from the infected. You cut through them easily with your (w/c).
Sonic had started to run backwards, his expression and actions a mix of cocky and curious to your intervention, "Ok but, WHY are you here? Nevertheless alone?"
You know what he meant, why aren't you being supervised, the villain free to do whatever, but you dodged that secret question, and chose to use Sonic's own personality against him to have some fun, "I'm not alone, I have you to babysit."
You skid to a halt and turned around a tight corner as Sonic sped off a little too fast, distracted by your remark. "HEY!"
Snickering to yourself, you walked towards the pathway that led to Vanilla and Cream's house. Sonic, was immediately next to you once again, coming back and trying to think of a way to refute your taunt. But you refocused his attention on the mission at hand when you called out to the rabbit family.
There was silence for only a moment, and that was enough to worry the both of you, but a young girl's voice called out, "Miss we're here!"

Sonic spin dashed into the room and knocked out a zombot, forcing it's goopy body out of the way and right into a wall, splattering it as it cartoonishly spun itself into their curtain and collapsed, stuck.
Behind you, a groan and a pair of arms reached over your head. On instinct you kicked backwards with your armored shoe, stomping in the knees of the poor zombot behind you. "That probably didn't feel good." You joked to yourself, beginning to fend off the zombot's re-animated remains AND another group that was coming into the home.
Glancing back, Sonic was standing in front of Cream and Vanilla, who had tried to shelter behind a chair in the other room. Cream looked terrified, most likely of you- and you had to look away. You wouldn't be surprised if she didn't know about your release. You tilted up your helmet to show your calm expression, a way to reassure Cream that you were a mobian, just like her, even if you were previously a super villain.
"(N/n), keep them back while I get them out of here." Sonic called from the other room, spin dashing into their roof and creating a hole. You could hear the collateral damage while your eyes were trained on the horde that began to pour into the home from the door.
"No promises, they've breached the door." You had to keep swinging/shooting to keep them back, dismembering the poor unfortunate souls, but all the same they reformed their missing parts just as quickly. It almost felt too fast, the Seaside City crisis zombots took longer than this... Was the virus mutating?
You were forced to fall back to the room Cream and Vanilla were previously in. Turning your back to the invaders, you helped Cream and Vanilla up, your helmet still tilted upwards so that Cream could see your face. From the shadow of the helmet, your (e/c) looked dark, but you tried to keep smiling for her.
Your will to keep Cream happy his misplaced by the danger you put yourself in.. As a cold hand grabbed at your helmet, ripping it straight off. A shining, silver hand placed itself inches from your face as you turned around to face the threat. A pair of menacing, dead red eyes peared past you as if staring off into a black abyss.
Here it was. The end of everything. An infected reaching out to touch you. You wanted your life to flash before your eyes, giving you back memories of the old forgotten past, but they didn't come back. No white at the end of a tunnel, only one small blue blur and one brown flash past your eyes.

The hand of the zombot fell back with the body of the infected, being forced to the ground at the impact of two small creatures that just sacrificed their lives for you, a stranger, a villain.
"NO!" Cream cried out, reaching a hand towards her Chao, Cheese and Chocola, who had thrown themselves at the rogue zombot who just about infected you.
"Ah oh." Sonic muttered up above on the rooftop. Rushing down back into the home and grabbing two water jars, pouring them out and plunging them over the two chao that began to immediately turn due to their small size.
You jumped away, terrified of that near-death experience and onto the rooftop with Cream and Vanilla. Yelling down to the hero below, "What do we do now?"
The residence was now surrounded on all faces, zombots that had been attracted by the sounds of Cream's yelling and the crash of the rooftop from Sonic's spindash.
"Cream can fly Vanilla out to the escort rescue ship, I'll distract them. I need to get running anyways." SOnic looked over to his arm that shone in a blue steel, his infection had begun picking up pace as well, as he touched more infected.
Yet what he said confused you, Cream flying out Vanilla? And right as you turned around the young rabbit girl was FLYING away with her mother, using her arms as flaps to get lifted into the sky, heading east to the shuttle. You knew Tails could hover with his tails, but this just felt beyond what nature should allow someone to do.
"OK Then what about me?!" You looked back down and Sonic was gone. "GREAT." But Sonic was doing what he said he would do, distracting the horde the other way, and clearing a small path for you to jump along rooftops or lamp posts to get to the shuttle.
Jumping along you made your way to the shuttle, seeing Cream, Vanilla, and other survivors in the hangar. The ship was hovering a good 20 feet off the ground, 10 from where you were on the rooftops. Taking a step back, you prepared yourself and did your own spin dash jump into the hangar, where Vanilla actually caught your arm so you didn't tumble into the crowd inside.
You breathed heavily, similar to the first mission, and looked about the low amount of survivors you had rescued. You coulded 8 in all, but again this location was rather remote and had less people.
Vanilla let go of your arm and went back to calm down a weeping Cream. A survivor walked up to you in a shy walk, holding her hands together in a praying motion, "H-hello miss. Thank you for saving us." She bowed before you and you did the same back respectfully.
"It's no problem ma'am. I'm here to help rescue who I can." You put a hand to your heart and looked at the scared lady with a genuine smile. She didn't seem scared of you, it was a nice change of pace.
"What's your name dear?"
You froze, thinking and nodded back at her, "My name is (Y/n), (Y/n) the (M/s)." You reached for your helmet to take it off, but it wasn't there.
"Oh no-" you muttered, looking down at the ground as the ship began to leave Floral Forest Village.
"What's wrong deary?" The older mobian asked, looking at your confused and concerned expression.
You sighed, forcing yourself to calm down. That helmet, you had left it after the zombot knocked it off... It felt like a piece of you was missing, almost like a need to always be holding something, and it was gone.
"I-it's ok, I just left something important to me down there." You looked back at the elderly mobian and sat her back down. "Please, rest while we head back to a safer place."
The lady pat your hand as you helped her rest on a seat, "Ohhh~ you're such a kind young lady." She made you smile, and you left her to the other refugees as the ship carried on. The hangar door closed all the way when you made your way to the cabin, where Olive was piloting the jet back towards Restoration HQ. In the distance a blue blur could easily be spotted running across the hills in the distance.
Your first interaction with Sonic, and it wasn't absolutely horrible. You almost wanted to talk to him again, finding it funny to see someone taunt him back just as easily as he could to others, all in fun.
I made up for that last short chapter with this one :)

Hero
Kuren is just your average boy. He's just been asleep for one thousand years. Heroes and grand epics. Kuren doesn't have the time to think about things like that, nor does he really care. Join Kuren as he wanders the fantasy land of Alurca in search of his lost memories and the reasons behind his lengthy slumber. This is sort of a reboot of Anomaly, the first novel I tried to write. I gave up Anomaly after going to college. I thought about going back to it, but... when I look at it now, it's not very good. It was very edgy and not much substance behind that edge. The story wasn't quite going anywhere since I hadn't given the main character a goal. I had planned out a story, but I forgot to to plan out the details between the beginning and end. So this one's for real. Hopefully you won't be disappointed.
