《Her alpha mate (Complete)✔️》Chapter Sixteen

I awoke curled in Sam's arms and his warmth surrounds me I smile lightly as I see his peaceful face as he sleeps and his chest rises and falls, suddenly my mind flashbacks to last night and the disastrous dinner and the events that span out of control from there I trace the mark on my neck.
I untangle myself from Sam and head into the bathroom with my dress I toss it into the wash and step into the jacuzzi allowing the water to wash away my sleepiness I bathe and wash before washing and conditioning my hair once I'm done I wrap a towel around myself and pull the plug before brushing my teeth and hair.
I head into the bedroom and realise Sam is gone but the bed is freshly made with clean sheets. I dry myself off and change into some underwear and dress in a off the shoulder black top, skinny dark denim jeans and black trainers. I blast my hair with the hairdryer and tie it into a ponytail before gabbing my towel up and heading out of the bedroom in search of food.
In the kitchen I find freshly made scrambled eggs and beans with bacon and toast along with a black rose and a note from Sam. Pack business I'll be back soon I'm washing up in Aaron's and thought I'd give you a heads up I made you breakfast and hope you like it. I love you.
I place the note down and put the rose in a vase with some water before tucking into my breakfast.
Finishing my breakfast I rinse the plate and put it away on the rack, suddenly I jump as the door slams and I see Carrie in the doorway followed by a posse of she-wolves that I can't name I hear yelling and recognise Charlie's and Sharon's scents.

"Lauren! Where are you?!" Carrie yells and I race out of the kitchen to meet her, I'll have her head for her disrespect! I silently thanked Charlie for teaching me to not take any shit from the pack.
"Carrie". I greet coldly and her eyes blaze and I don't realise that she hit me until I feel a stinging pain in my lip and cheek.
"That's for having Josh killed!" She screams at me. What?!
Sam?
Lauren, what is it?
Carrie just showed up at the cabin and hit me for killing Josh! Know anything about this?
I'm sorry, I had too I killed him and put his head on a spike and burned his body I sent his head to his brothers.
I got blamed! Argh!
I'm sorry! I couldn't take it anymore he kept taunting me about you... I couldn't stop my rage...
It's ok I'll deal with Carrie and since when did josh have brothers?
When I killed his family I only killed his mother and father his brothers weren't there they'd been contacted and ran I never knew about it until I tortured him and beat it out of him.
Fine... I'm glad he's dead but now I have to deal with his enraged bitch of a mate...
Go get em tiger. I'll see you at the training grounds lure her there if you can.
On it she's angry so she won't be thinking straight I'll have her on her ass before she can blink.
Ha! I love you.
I love you too Sam.
I close the link and charge her, she falls hard and screams in rage as I run with Charlie and Sharon to the training grounds with a screaming Carrie on our tails...
***
We reach the training grounds and a circle of werewolves has formed around us. "You killed him! You bitch!" Carrie screams and runs at me. I dodge her and trip her up and laugh as she shrieks in rage.

"That sick bastard tortured me for three days straight! You have no idea what it was like you're just a poor slut that now she's found her mate decides to suddenly care! Well guess what sugar he's dead and he deserved it!" I hadn't realised I was crying until my vision blurred and my cheeks were wet.
Carrie lunged at me and we went down grappling Carrie clawed at me aimlessly and I punched her in the gut and pushed her off me kicking her in the side she yelled and rolled away from me and stood. I heard gasps as I'd aired my hurt to about half the pack... They would've found out sooner or later...
I noticed that Carrie had shifted and was snarling at me her fur bristled I laughed at her attempt to scare me. "Now, now didn't you're parents teach you never to hide that bitch face as a child?" I teased which earned a few 'Ohhhhh's' from the crowd.
Carrie howled and lunged biting viciously into my shoulder. I cried out but rolled her off grabbing her jaw and throwing her across the field she landed and I heard her howl as she limply stood on all fours blood dripping from her mouth as she lunged again. This time I dodged and roundhouse kicked her in the head.
"Lauren?! Where'd you learn to kick like that?!" I heard Charlie holler from behind me.
"Nowhere in particular". I shot back and was slammed in the face by a fist. I landed on my butt and growled lowly as I realised it was one of carries lackeys. "can't fight you're own battles?" I mocked as I stood confidently. C'mon I'll take you both on!" I yelled as they converged on me in a series of heated attacks, granted I ended up with a few wounds but I was holding up quite well.
"Lauren! I'm helping out!" Charlie yelled and slammed into the girl bowling her over as she violently punched her face, I hadn't noticed that Carrie had shifted back to human form and was dressed fully now. "Hey Carrie! Looks like you're friends gonna need some serious plastic surgery!" Charlie yelled as the girl lay unconscious her face bloodied so badly it was swollen and bruised. Charlie went all out... I watched carries fave fall and took the opportunity to lunge at her and pinned her to the ground I'd had enough.
She whimpered as I stared at her coldly I could see her anticipating my next move. The next few words that flew from my mouth I would never regret. "I Lauren Greyson Luna of the abyss pack, banish you Carrie Monroe from this pack forever and you may return on pain of death." I say coldly as collected gasps gather I hear her scream after me.
"I'll get you back just watch!" She screamed before she fled into the woods. I was wounded and needed Sam so I allowed Charlie to lead me to my cabin and clean me up before ranting at Sam for not being at my side as to which he kissed me and apologised to a glaring Charlie.
"Whatever. I'm gonna go see Aaron I'll see you guys whenever". She leaves her anger going with her.
Banishing Carrie felt like a blessing but her threat would haunt me as it held a more threatening promise. I'll get you back....

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
