《Their Human》Chapter twenty six: the smell of drama

"You know what? I'm actually pretty full. You should go ahead without me." I told the twins, watching them stand up from their seats. Silas lifted his arms up while he stretched, not interested in what I had to say. I stared at Sei for an answer, fiddling with the sleeves of his black hoodie. I had worn it to get him to come cuddle me. Men love it when women wear their hoodies, even though some of them pretend they don't.
Alas, it didn't even make him look at me. It seems to me that impressing hybrid men is different from impressing human men.
"You ate how many times?" Sei asked me with a bored look. I thought back to it. I only had a bit of breakfast, which I didn't even finish because of the tension in the room. My silence told them all they needed to know.
"Then it's settled, you're coming to dinner and this time you'll finish your food." Silas said, putting on a grey jacket.
"But..." I started to retort.
"No excuses. You need to get as much energy possible. It's going to be a rough couple of months for you." Silas grumbled, pushing the door open and stepping out. I sighed, knowing that it was either I followed them or they would carry me to the dinner table. I stood up and walked to Sei, looking at the floor. Things were still pretty tense between us and I honestly couldn't take it anymore.
"We talk after dinner." Sei said to me, holding my hand and pulling me along with him. I nodded, pulling his hoodie down. It was pretty big, reaching just above my knees. I didn't have to wear any pants because of it.
"Where are all the other people that live here?" I asked him. I hoped he wouldn't be bothered with me asking about other people. He did make it clear that him and Silas are the only things that should be running through my head.
"Other side of mansion. The head's family is separated from them during dinner and breakfast." He told me. I nodded, not saying anything else. We walked in silence until we reached the dining hall. Everyone was already seated, waiting for the food to be served. Sei and I greeted everyone and I took my place between the twins. Sofia was no longer sitting across me. The seat was left empty. I wondered who it was left for.

"Is Alex coming to dinner?" Sofia asked, staring at Sapphire. The vampire stared at her and smiled forcefully, "He's on his way. He's just speaking to someone."
"Oh? Who is that?" Sofia asked, also giving her sister wife the fakest smile I've ever seen.
"Someone that is none of your concern. A close associate of ours."
"Shut up," Goliath growled, making me shrink back on my seat. That was the first time I've ever heard the man speak and I hoped that it was the last. I thought Silas had the scariest voice but Goliath was on another level. His voice was deep and coarse, like he had gravel wedged in his throat. I stared at him as he sipped on his tea. He seemed to really like tea.
A few women in tight and short blue dresses entered the room, holding multiple trays of food. My stomach rumbled softly at the aroma that hit my nose. Looks like I was hungrier than I thought. I looked up at the women, trying to see if Sharlene was one of them but I didn't see her. I frowned and turned to the delicious looking food, taking a plate for myself.
It was shocking how their food looked better than the food I've had back at home.
I stared at a tray of lasagna, my mouth nearly watering. I was about to reach for it when the door opened again, the person I was dreading to see strutting inside with a wide grin on his face. When Goliath looked up, he stopped smiling and walked timidly to the table.
He's acting timid around his father.
"Sorry I'm late." Alexander said softly, as if he wasn't happy just a couple of seconds ago. He sat down across me, making me quickly look down at my empty plate. I took a deep and quiet breath and told myself that it was okay. He can't do or say anything to me while everyone is here.
I looked up at him, my mood deflating when he took the lasagna I wanted and dished up for himself. He put the tray next to him, further away from everyone else. I couldn't believe it! How stingy is he!? He doesn't even need to eat lasagna, he's a vampire!
I looked around the table, not wanting any of the other food. I only wanted lasagna. It's been too long since I've tasted the delicious dish.

Sapphire looked up at me, putting her glass of blood down. She sure drunk a lot of it, yet I've never seen Alexander touch it even once.
"Why aren't you eating, sweetheart? You don't like the food?" She asked, making everyone turn to look at me. I gulped when I felt Alexander's burning gaze on me and shook my head. I didn't want to say I don't like it, that would be rude of me.
"I... I'm not hungry." I mumbled. That was the only thing I could think of saying, even though I was really really hungry. Sapphire nodded and continued eating, just as everyone else did. Sei and Silas looked at each other and they both shrugged, probably finally believing that I wasn't hungry. So I just sat there, staring at everyone eat.
I flinched when I felt something cold brushing against my leg. I quickly pulled my leg away, knowing who it was. Still, I felt the cold dress shoes teasingly grazing my leg, going higher. I gave in and looked at Alexander with widened eyes, silently begging him to stop doing that. He stared at Silas and back at me, then grabbed his knife. He was threatening me again.
Looking down sadly, I let him continue what he was doing, feeling his shoe find it's way between my thighs. I closed my eyes, shuddering at the horrible feeling. Alexander cleared his throat and took the remaining lasagna from next to him and pushed it to me. I opened my eyes and looked at him. "You've been staring at it, eat up." He told me.
No I did not!
Silas glared at Alexander, who didn't seemed to care. I stared at the lasagna, not wanting it and at the same time wanting it. I reached out and took it, thanking him softly. I took small bites out of it, enjoying the taste.
"So," Goliath growled. "How is the king situation?"
Everyone tensed up at that question, except for me and Alexander. Alexander smiled to himself and sipped on a glass of juice while everyone else looked like they had been asked to show their browser history.
"Well, it's still being discussed by the other heads, honey. Why are you asking?" Sofia said cautiously.
"I haven't been attending the meetings. I want to know what I missed." He simply said. His demonic voice made me tightly grip my fork as I continued eating. It was so scary.
"One of each species nominated a male. A total of twelve boys are going to be going against each other for the crown." Sapphire told him. She smiled and held her husbands hand. "The vampires picked Alexander! Isn't this exciting, babe? He'll win for sure!"
Silas snorted at that, making the two vampires glare daggers at him. "The day that happens, Sei and I will be dead."
Sapphire scoffed, "You guys didn't even get nominated. Hybrids are excluded from the nomination. They want only pure bloods."
Sofia chuckled mischievously at that statement, making Sapphire stare at her in shock. "What did you do this time?"
I smell drama...
"The rest of the heads know that the twins are pure blood demons. They have no idea that their father is a werewolf. Even when they shift, they look nothing like werewolves." Sofia said with an evil grin. "My son's were both nominated to be the rulers and they'll get the crown whether you like it or not, bloodsucker."
Oh she did not!
"Goliath! Say something!" Sapphire screeched angrily, banging her fists against the table. Alexander also looked pissed at this. He was glaring at Sei, who just waved at him innocently.
Oh my cute Sei-Sei
He looked at me with widened eyes and flushed cheeks, making me realize that I had just said that to him through mind link. I blushed, quickly looking away from him.
"What am I to say? I'm proud that all three of my step-sons are nominated. I pick no sides." He stared at the three men, "you all do your best. Don't let anyone get in the way of your success." His eyes darted to me for a brief moment, shocking me.
I looked at the twins, who were listening to their father carefully.
Am I in their way?

Musings
This is being used as a place to post, some thoughts of mine, mostly old stuff from my past, my feelings or observations or just fiction (most likely fiction). It most likely will not take normal story format and I am sure this site will let me know if that outside the lines.
