It was a very warm day. You were walking through the large forest, the forest that some people believe is haunted, the forest where dark and brutal animals would live. Many would have been scared. But not you, you were different. Your grandmother had raised you in a forest not so different from this one. The animals are your friends, the forest was your second home. Even though you loved living in Hogwarts, you still missed the playing with the animals and the running around. So once in a while, you would just go out for a walk there, creating a connection between you and the animals and now you were here to get a lesson from Hagrid. It was his first day as a professor and he was very nervous. The animal he wanted everyone to see was a hippogriff. The hippogriff already recognised you and kneeled down before you showing it's respect. A couple your fellow students gasped. You kneeled as well, and started to pet the animals head.

"Well well well Y/N, bugbeak likes you" you smiled "I like him too, he is beautiful"

All the students were looking at you and it was dead silent. "You want to ride his back?" Hagrid asked.

"Yeah sure" Hagrid tried to help you but you stopped him. "I got this" Hagrid nodded and walked away.

You jumped on the hippogriffs back and it spread its wings. Soon you were one with the world, the wind blowing in your hair. You flew around for a couple of minutes. Right after you landed and you had jumped of, Malloy had to ruin the nice moment. "How hard can it be?!" He yelled, running towards the hippogriff. "Draco, No!!" But you were to late. Draco was already laying on the ground, crying like a baby. "It killed me, it killed me!" You tried hard not to laugh at him.

After him being taken care of he came back, exaggerating what had happened.

Later that evening the news came that bugbeak would be executed . Boiling of anger you ran over to Draco. Pushing him against the wall "YOU FILTHY BEAST, THE HIPPOGRIFF IS NOT THE ONE THAT SHOULD BE KILLED ITS YOU" Draco didn't know what to say, he just stood there while you were ranting. "WHY? WHY DOES HE HAVE TO DIE? ITS ALL YOUR FAULT"

"Y/N? Calm down!" Hermione pulled you of off Draco. "What's going on?" She asked looking irritated at Draco wondering what he had done. When you explained hermione got mad.

"How dare you Draco?"

You walked away while hermione was comforting you.

Draco didn't know what to do and kept seeing your beautiful face, he couldn't do it to you. No he cared way too much. That's when he realised "shit I'm in love with an Hufflepuff"

-The day bugbeak was being put down-

You had just said your last goodbye too the hippogriff when Draco walked towards you. "What do you want Malfoy?" Draco looked apologetic. "Y/N I'm so so sorry .... I- I didn't realise what he meant to you, I'm here to stop them and tell them the truth" you were shocked, why was he suddenly so nice? "Seriously? That's very nice of you.. I can't thank you enough"

Draco nodded and walked towards Dumbledore. They were talking, Dumbledore nodded and went to stop the execution. Draco walked over to you. "I'm sorry for everything, I guess I was jealous. Everything seems so easy when you do it. All the animals love you" you smiled at him "Draco that's sweet but there is no need to be jealous! The animals love me because I spent time with them, because I understand them. I can teach you that if you want me to"

Draco smiled "I would love that"

And over time the two of you grew closer, you became best friends and after a while you became lovers.

Draco learned how to get along with the animals and weirdly enough enjoyed being kind to other all because of you.
