"Why would Dumbledore ever want to build an army?" Harry questioned once Ginny had disappeared and Molly had left the room with her hair frazzled and a stomp in her step. Bill had followed after her in order to try and calm her down. Sirius was left with his godson, Blair, Fred, George, Ron and Hermione who hung on to every last word that were set to leave his mouth. They were finally getting some answers for the questions they've had since the start of the school holidays.
"Because we think that You Know Who is planning to build up his followers again," Sirius answered. "The followers he had before his downfall haven't stopped believing in their values. Most would return to him at the drop of a hat. They've been waiting for this moment for years. And he'll succeed in his mission if we don't try to do the same."
"But if the Ministry's not going to listen..." Hermione trailed off and Sirius's hard look answered her unfinished question. They had no chance of matching up to the huge following that You Know Who most likely already had in his company. Followers that would also kill for him when given the chance.
"May I ask a question?" Blair spoke up and Sirius turned to her, his eyebrows raised. "Why was I really brought here? I understand Harry and everyone else, but I don't really have anything to do with all this... right?"
"I'm... not sure if Dumbledore would like me telling you that," Sirius stared down into his glass of wine.
"But he's not here," she tried to reason and desperately wanted to know why she had finally been taken away from her childhood 'home'. She was grateful for Professor Dumbledore's actions but knowing that he had done it not from the kindness of his own heart, but for something that was apparently endangering her was uncomfortable. If the Order was discussing whether she had been approached by someone or not, Blair knew that if she had stayed at the orphanage for the summer, things may have been going differently for her.
Sirius sighed and looked to the girl that was giving him pleading eyes. He understood her frustration but even his rebellious nature wasn't big enough to cover his better judgement. He didn't want to scare the girl but she was now an adult and would have to face things that no young adult should have to face. The same was with Harry and he cared deeply for Harry. And he found himself slowly starting to care for Blair too, considering she had no family and had no parental guidance when growing up. He sympathised for her and wanted to give her the answers she needed.
"I don't want to upset you again, but you obviously know about your family's values and belief in blood purity," he started and Blair nodded, willing to listen and accept her past regardless of its sour taste that it left in her mouth.
"Well since you're young and what You Know Who would say as 'manipulatable', they would assume that you'd also want to... join him," Sirius continued and the others at the tables let out a small gasp. The thought of the quiet girl next to them joining the Death Eaters was something that had once occurred to them before they had really gotten to know her. The rumours always went around that anyone whose parents were Death Eaters, would follow the same fate.

"Is that why I'm here then? To stop me from being tempted?" she didn't mean for her tone to be patronising and offended, but Sirius visibly flinched at the end of the table. George looked concerned and made the effort to put his hand on her knee, but Blair was too immersed in the conversation to notice.
"We don't believe that you'd ever do such a thing," Sirius tried with his hands out in front of him. "But Death Eaters are unpredictable. Trust me, I know. If they knew that they couldn't get through to you and convince you, they'd kill you on the spot. They want purebloods on their side. And they don't want 'powerful' witches and wizards on the opposite side."
Blair wasn't aware of how valuable she was because of her family's reputation. She should have guessed that once You Know Who returned, that he'd ask not only his followers to return, but also the new generation that also believed in the same values of bloody purity.
"And he knows what you're capable of with your potion skills and charm work. All of last year, Crouch Jr. was sent to keep an eye on you as well as Harry."
Blair suddenly remembered the issue that she had with Professor Moody (or Barty Crouch Jr.) last year. She had forgotten that she had felt constantly watched and even consulted Professor Dumbledore about it. But she had never thought that she was being watched by a known Death Eater in disguise. Crouch's stare made her feel more uncomfortable now than it did last year.
"I don't want to join his side. Not even in my nightmares," Blair let out loud and clear. "I want to be on our side."
"So do I," Harry spoke up for the first time in a while. "If there's a battle that needs to be done, then I want to fight."
"So do we," George said with Fred nodding beside him. "We should be allowed to join the Order. We're old enough."
"I appreciate the enthusiasm but Molly would kill me if I doctorate you lot into the Order right now," Sirius chuckled but felt warmed. "But I'm sure once this year's over, you three will have a one way ticket in, I can assure you."
Blair and the twins beamed at the mention of joining the Order. Ron, Harry and Hermione looked slightly put out for being forgotten but they supposed they were lucky to be even allowed in the room during the discussion. But they all felt included even though Molly was bound to be put out for a couple of days.

Everyone's letters from Hogwarts came with one blonde-feathered owl. In its beak, sat the bundle of letters that were all addressed to 12 Grimmauld Place in London. Blair took hers and immediately broke the wax seal at the back, pulling out her page of books that she needed for the year. She was happy to see that her Quidditch gear would be needed as she could finally get on her broom after a year of there being no house cup. She was itching to be the Chaser she was meant to be and show George that she was a better player than him and Fred combined (there had been a feud between the three on the subject).

"Why the bloody hell is there a Basics for Beginners on here?" Fred scoffed after ripping his open. "They're surely not thinking of starting at the beginning to make sure we got it the bloody first time, right?"
"Maybe it's a mistake," George wondered.
Blair was about to give her suggestion but was distracted by the strange lump that was inside her opened envelope. She had never received anything in her Hogwarts envelope other than her acceptance letter and her book list, so she was very confused when the paper bulged with something solid. She tipped the paper upside down and out slid a badge that had golden edging and a royal blue interior. A banner was displayed across the middle and showed in capital letters 'HEAD GIRL'.
"Holy Hufflepluff," she muttered and felt her legs weaken, causing her backside to fall and hit the mattress that was thankfully behind her. The badge gleamed in her hand and her sudden exclamation made Fred and George look up, confused and eyeing the object that she stared down at in shock.
"What is it?" George questioned while Fred walked forward and looked down in her hand.
"Holy fuck, she got Head Girl!" Fred cried and snatched the metal out of Blair's hand, shoving it into George's face. "What is this monstrosity?! I refuse to have my twin dating a goody two-shoes Head Girl!"
"There's no way..." George mumbled in shock, taking the shiny badge from Fred's and analysing it.
"You don't think I could do it?" Blair teased after taking a very deep breath.
"O-Of course not! I just..." George stammered before displaying a reassuring smile. "What am I saying? I'm proud of you, sweetheart. Congratulations."
George pulled Blair to her feet so that he could embrace her tightly, cradling the back of her head with his hand that still had her new badge clamped in it. Never had he thought he'd associate himself with a Head Boy or Girl, but he was proud of Blair. The girl that he once thought was constantly bitter and was just in the need for a laugh and a friend was given the opportunity to show everyone that she wasn't some shadow. Plus, the idea of dating a Head Girl gave him lots of ideas that he would be able to get away with.
"This is nearly as bad as Percy getting Prefect AND Head Boy," Fred grumbled with his arms crossed.
"You sure you're not just bitter that you didn't get either of those things?" Blair dared to say from within George's arms and he glared back at her.
"You think that I lose sleep at night knowing that I didn't get preppy Prefect or happy Head Boy?" Fred scoffed. "Us Weasleys don't lower ourselves to those standards. Percy was the only exception because he's a twit. And Bill... and Charlie..."
---
"Oh Ron, I really can't believe it!" Molly wept as she kissed Ron's cheeks with her handkerchief in hand. "Another Prefect in the family! How wonderful!"
George and Blair held in their laughs as Fred sulked next to them with his arms crossed and his glare murderous. He had nearly burst out into a tantrum at the sight of yet another badge that sat in Ron's hand with the words 'PREFECT' displayed across it. It was even worse when Hermione walked in with one in her hand too. George didn't care but Fred was a different story. How could all these people he considered as friends get these titles? Who exactly was Fred Weasley, known prankster, associating himself with?
"Oh and Blair! How wonderful for you too!" Molly cheered as she spotted the girl standing with her own badge in hand. The woman rushed over and squeezed in her a bone-crushing hug. It was lucky that Blair was the same height as Molly otherwise her back would have surely snapped by now with the amount of embraces she received from the Weasley mother.
"If Lee gets Head Boy, I'm giving up," Fred grumbled and Molly turned to him with her sternest of stares that she could muster through her teary eyes.
"You two should be pulling leaves from Ron and Blair's books," she tried to keep her tough facade but could barely keep her handkerchief away from her cheeks. "But George, you really have picked the perfect girl here. I'm so proud of you."
"So he gets praise for literally just dating a Ravenclaw?!" Fred gasped with his thumb jabbing in his brother's direction. "Unbelievable. All Ravenclaws are like that. Preppy freaks."
Fred was ignored as Molly fussed over Ron, Hermione and Blair while Arthur gave his own congratulations to each of them. Harry stood off to the side with a slightly sour expression but tried not to show it. He was having his own bitterness inside of him because of the badges that were just so shiny and obnoxious. Surely Dumbledore had picked them for a reason, but how had he not gotten one? Had he not been brilliant enough during his time at Hogwarts.
"Where's Jasper? I feel like kicking something," Fred mumbled as he started moving towards the door and Blair overheard him, pulling a horrified expression and running after him.
"What the hell, Fred?! Leave him alone!" she cried, running out into the hallway.
"It's either him or Kreacher! And Kreacher's not the one that sleeps on my pillow every night!" he called over his shoulder and spotted the culprit sitting on the stairs, oblivious to his assailant.
"No!"
Blair pulled out her wand and apparated to three paces in front of Fred, sprinting to scoop up Jasper and run downstairs. She could hear Fred's footsteps close behind her and she ran into the kitchen, disturbing Sirius who was reading the Daily Prophet with his classic glass of wine in his hand. Fred screamed for Blair to give him the cat but she ran around the table and hid behind Sirius who stood up from his chair, thinking there was some serious (hehe) situation happening.
"Give me the mangy beast, Blair!" Fred shouted, reaching for his wand that was in his back pocket. "Or I'll have to hex the both of you!"
"What's going on?!" Sirius cried as he stood in between the two.
"Fred's just mad because I got Head Girl!" Blair clutched Jasper closer to her chest, scratching behind his ear reassuringly.
"You got Head Girl?" Sirius repeated, turning to look at her with raised eyebrows. She nodded back and his nose scrunched up in disgust. "Gross."

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess.
