《Baking With Boys |✔》15. Cherry Jam

"I should have never agreed to this," Brandon mumbled as I dragged him to the Trade Fair with me.
"Don't say that, it'll be simple, really!" I said cheerily and flashed him a big smile. He stared at me for a second, blinking twice, before he slapped his hand on his forehead.
"God, I am sick," he groaned, rubbing his hand on his face and looking away from me.
"Why, what happened?" I pulled his arm again to make him face me.
"Don't ask." He sighed, and then bit his lips, looking down to my hands wrapped around his arms.
After a moment I realized that we had stopped moving, with me still clinging onto his hand. Very slowly and cautiously, I untangled my hands from his arm.
Tucking my hair behind my ear, I sheepishly took a step back. Giving him some space, I started walking again, hoping to hide my heated face, when I heard him call me.
"Where are you going?" Brandon whispered, and I felt his hand clasp around mine, pulling me firmly towards him.
"N-nowhere." I gasped out as he pulled me, my stomach somersaulting at the sudden closeness.
Our shoulders brushed and he steadied me before I tripped or tumbled downwards. His hand lingered on the small of my back before quickly grabbing my hand, his fingers immediately intertwining with mine.
"I don't mind this," he whispered and cleared his throat, purposely not meeting my eyes.
He started walking again, his steps more confident now as he led me towards the entrance of the Trade Fair. I meekly followed him this time, my head down as I tried to hide my even more flaming cheeks. Peeking a look at him, I saw that his ears were red and he had beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
Smiling to myself at his warm touch and ignoring the loud thudding of my heart, I caught up to match my steps with him.
"So I'll run the plan once again, because I don't think you were listening the other three times." I started once we both got comfortable, and he rolled his eyes.
"It's going to be six o'clock soon and we expect Francis's fiancée to be here by six-thirty." I continued.
"Are you sure she will come?" Brandon asked me, slightly swinging our intertwined hands.
"Uh, of course." I shook my head to clear the sensations of tingling shooting up my arm and tried to focus on what he was saying.
"We practically just baited her by accidentally showing her some text messages. Why would she care?"
"Well for one, she's a girl. We care about everything. And second, all the text messages sent to Francis were by a number saved as Brandon Baby." I smirked at him. "It's obvious that she will be curious enough to come here."

"And find out for herself who this Brandon Baby is?" I nodded excitedly as Brandon finished for me, followed by an excessive shaking of his head at me.
"What now?"
"Nothing. I am just wondering where do you get these world class ideas from."
"Believe me, you wouldn't want to know." I bit my lip to hide my smile and thought about the years I had spent watching Korean Dramas and reading mangas or manhwas. I had to pick up some tips from them.
We stopped at the ticket counter and bought two tickets, fighting again on who would pay for it.Both of us ended up buying for each other, whereas the lady behind the counter looked irritated enough to throw us out any second.
"So where's the French Stick?" Brandon asked, tugging at the collar of his dress shirt with his other hand.
"There." I pointed to Francis walking towards us and looking really like a model except that he was not tall enough to be one. He turned more heads than I could count.
Brandon huffed at him and just adjusted his collar again.
I felt a little guilty for asking Brandon to dress up a bit more but to my shock he looked sexy enough to eat.
Okay, stop right there, I quickly discarded that thought and stood up to greet Francis.
"She is definitely going to show up," Francis muttered as soon as we were in the hearing distance.
"How are you so sure?" Brandon asked and I noticed Francis turning a bit pale.
"If I could explain the daggers she was shooting me from her eyes at dinner yesterday, then you would guess how sure I am of her showing up."
"Whatever," Brandon replied and casually started swinging our intertwined hands around.
"You're sure this will work?" Francis asked, his eyes flitting to my hand in Brandon's hand before looking up to me.
"Positive," I replied, a rush of heat blooming in my chest as Brandon's thumb traced the back of my hand.
I felt goosebumps up my arm, and looked at Brandon to see that he stood there unaffected, checking the Trade Fair and all the people hustling around.
"Tyler are you listening?" Francis asked and I whipped my head towards him.
"Yeah, let's wait. We still have time," I pulled both of them with me and sat on a bench giving us a full view of the entrance while effectively hiding us behind an ice-cream stall.
"How does she look?" Brandon asked and Francis pulled out his phone.
I leaned over to peek, and I felt everything freeze over. The shocked expression on Brandon's face confirmed my doom as we saw Isabela aka Bella, smirking at us through the photo.

"That's her. Her name--" Francis started, pointing to the photo.
"Bella," Brandon and l finished in unison and Francis raised his eyebrows.
"You know her?" His eyes were skeptical as he looked at us and I suddenly felt a shiver run down my spine, thinking about the twisted way that all of us had been connected.
The surprise in Brandon's eyes told me that he was wondering almost the same thing.
We explained our encounter with Bella and Francis's frown got deeper and deeper as he listened.
"You don't think this is a coincidence, do you?" I asked him, and he slowly shook his head. Placing my head in my hands, I sighed, thinking hard.
It was not possible that Bella could have fooled us all. How could she have known that Brandon would have saved her if she had drowned?
"Let's carry on with the plan, for now," I concluded, looking at Francis and noticing that his forehead was full of sweat and he looked a little uncomfortable.
"Are you okay?" I asked him, whereas Brandon remained silent.
"Oui oui, let's start. I just have to hold his hand, right?" He stood up and Brandon shot me a glare before he stood up too.
"Yes, and please both of you smile. Don't act like you are in prison or something. She will definitely notice," Francis forced a smile and looped his hand around Brandon's elbow.
Brandon shifted uncomfortably and I suppressed a giggle. Noticing that people were already staring at the two of them, I considered it wise to not let them know that they stood out too much.
"So who'll be the bottom?" I asked them and they stared at me like I was speaking Chinese. I drawled, "Bottom? You have to choose, come on!"
"I'll be the top, you be the bottom," Brandon stated.
"Why? You be the bottom," Francis countered.
"Excuse me? I'm clearly the taller and stronger one. I'll be the top."
"So? I bet I can top you anytime."
"Top me, what?" Brandon scrunched up his nose, and looked at him in disgust.
"Well top you, you know. When we have sex--"
"Woah woah! Dude," Brandon cut him off, taking his hand out of his grip hurriedly.
"What? I only said the truth, everyone knows I am very skilled in--" Francis continued but I slapped my hand on his mouth.
"I think that's enough guys!" I intervened, trying to clear out the awkward conversation, "I asked the wrong question. You can both be the tops, okay? Or versatile. No need to hurt your pride."
"You could have said so from the starting," Brandon shrugged, while Francis made an irritated face at him.
I controlled my laughter, because I just couldn't comprehend that the two boys in front of me had been fighting about who was going to top who when they had sex.
Nothing short of a yaoi Manga, I thought.
"So will you leave us now? Or are you going to stick to us all night?" Brandon asked me and I rolled my eyes.
"Fine fine, I am going. But keep your cute couple bickering to a minimum, okay? You can discuss at home, who's going to top who tonight," I added with a wink and laughed at them before slithering away quickly.
I could feel the daggers they were shooting behind my back, but I ignored it and made my way towards the ice cream parlour.
After ordering double chocolate chip scoops on a cone and not feeling even slightly guilty about it, I sat down on the bench.
Both of them were still standing there, fighting about something, when my eyes landed on Bella entering the Trade Fair.
I quickly took out my phone and messaged this information to Brandon. He read it and gave a nod towards me before grabbing Francis's hand and leading him towards a bench.
They both sat down, a little apart and I quickly messaged the both of them.
Don't sit so far, come closer!
They both looked up simultaneously and shifted a little closer. I rolled my eyes and messaged again.
Hold each other's hand and for God's sake don't look so blank.
Francis reached out to grab Brandon's hand and rested his head slightly on his shoulder.
They both really looked like a couple from afar, and I smiled, finally satisfied.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw Bella stride in closer, her red killer heels and tight white bodycon dress making each and every head turn.
Her winged eyeliners on her eyes looked so sharp that I felt a shiver run down my body at the coldness she emitted.
Undoubtedly she looked as prim and perfect as ever and her each step spoke of purpose and power.
Within a minute her searching eyes laid upon Francis and my stomach twisted in tightly.
Game on, I thought and swallowed nervously.

Why is he always watching out for her even though he was the one that had dumped her? And worst still… What’s with that tsundere attitude of his…?!Translator’s Review: This is a really sweet novel about a couple that just annoys one another in the cutest ways. Lu Yanchen is a descendant of a powerful aristocratic military family. Cold, aloof, genius and sharp, this is a man that has it all – status, smarts and looks. But none of that matters when it comes to affairs involving his silly woman as everything melts away into an encompassing warmth. Purple-Red Beauty is someone that spends a lot of time building the settings of her novels. Earlier on, I too was rather annoyed at some of the things that Lu Yanchen did. But once the story gets on track… everything suddenly seemed even sweeter than before! If any of you have heard of the Japanese manga Itazura na Kiss or have caught any of the many Japanese (Mischievous Kiss), Chinese (It Started With A Kiss) and Korean (Playful Kiss) drama reboots made for it, you will definitely love it! :PThank you for reading updated His Breathtaking and Shimmering Light novel @ReadWebNovels.net

The Woman In The Palace
Highest rank #1 in Historical He glared at me with irritation. "Come inside!" ...And I did. He pointed to the stack of books on the floor. "Pick them up and arrange them the way they're supposed to."With trembling hands, I did what he asked quickly. Fret in the way I moved, picking up the books into my arms and lap one by one only for them to fall back on the floor over and over. I was a mess, upset, and it was obvious. This wasn't the kind of first meeting I dreamed of.The second prince was mean, and he was irritable. He had no clue who I am which made me resent it even more.He scowled as he watched me made mistakes after mistakes and after a while, he grew frustrated and bent over, picking the books himself."Forgive me, I didn't mean to snarl at you the way I did. I'm not used to being distracted. No one ever walks in my office unless they have my permission. I don't even know how the guardsmen let you in." I wanted to say because unlike you, they recognized who I am. But I kept my mouth shut in fear of aggravating his anger. His voice took a lot gentler tone, I imagined he must've realized how upset I was and felt bad about it.I said nothing. When we're done, I rose up to my feet, couldn't wait to get out of this room. This man was so impolite to me that I couldn't wait to get away from him."I apologize, your highness. I didn't mean to distract you in your private office." I stepped back getting ready to leave when a sliver of sunlight struck highlighting my face. "Wait!" He murmured and I turned back to look at him."You're beautiful." He said breathlessly.I would have blushed, but he was so mean and rude to me that his compliment lost its impact long ago."I need to go," I told him."Wait." A wave of panic rose in the tide of his voice. The prince was afraid to lose me. "What's your name, girl?" He asked quickly. "Jasmine, my name is Jasmine, your highness.""My Jasmine?" He murmured hopeful.
