《Just Another Bad Boy》12. I lied

"Mind if I sit?" Trevor gestured to the empty spot next to me.
"Go ahead." I nodded and moved over to give him more room.
"You play on the baseball team with Zach right?" Trevor asked turning his attention to Tyler.
"Yeah," Tyler nodded.
"I've seen you play, you're not bad."
I watched Tyler frown. Tyler was probably one of the better players on the team, I knew he was probably used to people telling him how amazing he was on the field.
Caitlynn always bragged about how good her boyfriend was. I tended to zone out when she talked about Tyler.
"Do you play any sports?" Tyler asked.
"Nah not really my scene." Trevor shrugged.
I chuckled. I couldn't help but imagine Trevor hanging out at the jock table. That was a fight waiting to happen.
"What are you doing here?" I whispered to Trevor.
"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm saving you. You looked miserable." He replied quietly so only I heard him.
"Thank you." I smiled.
"Anytime Bella." He winked.
I shoved him with my elbow.
"You invited Trevor?" Caitlynn stood there confused.
"You invited your boyfriend, why can't Ella invite hers?" Trevor answered before I could say anything.
Did Trevor just insinuate he was my boyfriend?
"Y'all are dating?" She raised her eyebrows.
"Yes."
"No." We said at the same time.
I sent Trevor a glare.
"Fine we aren't dating." He caved.
I watched Caitlynn eye both of us suspiciously.
"At least not yet." Trevor added.
He was really making this difficult.
"You have an almost boyfriend and you didn't even tell me?" Caitlynn looked at me with disbelief.
"Me and Trevor are friends, I don't know why you are making a big deal out of this." I was mad.

Caitlynn really thought she could get mad at me when she was the one that invited Tyler to Anna's. This was supposed to be what we did just the two of us.
"There is obviously more than that going on. I don't get why you wouldn't just tell me." She yelled.
This really wasn't the place for this.
"You can't seriously be mad." I was stunned.
"Of course I'm mad."
"This is ridiculous, I should be the one mad. You are the one that invited your boyfriend. Anna's is supposed to be our thing and you just dragged Tyler along. How am I supposed to tell you anything if you just invite him to everything?" I snapped.
"I asked you if it was ok and you said I could invite him."
"Well I lied."
"That seems to be the only thing you've been doing lately." Caitlynn yelled.
"Babe," Tyler tried to calm her down.
"You know what I'm done," She shook her head and stormed out of the shop.
Tyler quickly ran after her.
"I hate my life." I groaned.
"I feel like this is my fault." Trevor sighed.
"No it's hers. She is being absolutely unreasonable." I assured him.
Yeah Trevor kinda started it by saying we were dating but Caitlynn just freaked out. Also she was the one that invited her boyfriend to Anna's.
How had things gotten so out of hand? Caitlynn was my best friend but right now she was someone I barely recognized. She was always the level headed one, she helped keep me from going crazy on everyone. I knew she had started to change when she started dating Tyler but I didn't realize how much.
I felt tears start to pool in my eyes. I didn't want to get emotional but she was my family. I couldn't lose anyone else.

"Hey, don't cry. You guys will make up and everything will be back to the way it was." Trevor tried to comfort me.
"I can't be here." I said softly trying not to burst into tears.
"You want to come to my house? You can stay for dinner, my moms been asking about you." Trevor offered.
I quickly nodded and we both walked out of Anna's.
"Are you going to be ok to drive?" He asked once we were outside.
"Yeah I'll be fine." I assured him.
He nodded and walked to his own car.
When we got to his apartment building he led me up to his door.
"I know you've met my parents but I feel like I need to give you another warning. They can be kinda crazy."
"Trevor it's fine your parents are great." I told him.
He just nodded and opened the door.
"Trevor is that you?" A women yelled.
"Yeah mom." He called back.
I followed him into the kitchen.
"Ella!" His mom smiled.
"Hi Mrs. Walker." I waved.
"Im glad you're back, I thought Trevor scared you away." She joked.
"If anyone is going to scare her away it's going to be you and dad." Trevor laughed.
"Nonsense." She shook her head.
Trevor held up an empty jar.
"I see this is still empty, is this a new record?" He raised his eyebrows at his mother.
"You should be happy your parents aren't fighting." She told Trevor.
"I would be if I didn't share a wall with you two." He shook his head.
"Trevor Brooks Walker! We have a guest!" His mother yelled at him.
"We're going over to Zach's I'll see you at dinner." Trevor grabbed my hand and pulled me out of his apartment.
He knocked on the door next to his and it was quickly opened and Zach stood there in the doorway.
"What did you do know?" Zach laughed.
"I made mom angry," Trevor shrugged.
"Come in." Zach stepped aside and let us both in.
—
I sat and watched as Trevor and Zach started another round of whatever video game they were playing.
"So how did you get stuck with Trevor for the evening?" Zach asked me.
"I was with my best friend and her boyfriend and things kinda blew up and Trevor offered to let me come over and I couldn't say no to a nice homemade meal."
"Caitlynn and Tyler?" Zach asked.
"Yeah, Tyler wasn't supposed to be there but Caitlynn apparently can't go an afternoon without him. I just don't really get it Tyler is a-,"
"Douche?" Zach cut me off.
"No," I shook my head.
"I think he's a huge dick." Trevor added.
"He's a good guy he just doesn't really like me." I shrugged.
"Tyler a good guy?" Zach laughed and shook his head.
"I thought y'all were friends." I was confused.
"Nah he hates me, I have to miss practice sometimes to look after my mom and coach lets me leave earlier on the days I'm there. Tyler thinks I'm a bad teammate and hates that I get special treatment." Zach explained.
"Then why did he set me up with you if he hates you?"
"Honestly I couldn't tell you." Zach shrugged.
"Probably because he wants to look good for his girlfriend." Trevor said.
Was Tyler playing my best friend? If he was actually this huge dick like Zach and Trevor thought he was then why did he seem like this great guy in front of my best friend?
