《The Guy Next Door (COMPLETED)》Chapter 14: Coming out of The Closet

I hate getting up in the mornings. It's a fact. So when my phone started playing Call Me Maybe in full volume I was more or less pissed.
Okay admit it it's a pretty awesome ringtone even though the irony is lost on everyone but me. So anyway I was about to open my eyes or try to grab my phone and throw it as far away from me as possible but before I could do that I heard a voice saying.
"Will someone for the love of god switch of that horrid music."
I kinda froze. That voice definitely came from my bed and was way too deep to be mine. So I peeked out of the corner of my eye as subtly as possible to see what exactly was sleeping beside me.
It was Jake and he was completely shirtless.
Now usually in every single clichéd book Rebecca has ever lent me you will see that the girl just wakes up and admires his muscular abs and shit like that for like god knows how long until the boy wakes up.
I on the other hand was thinking more along the lines THERE IS A BOY HALF NAKED IN MY BED AND I DONT REMEMBER ANYTHING ABOUT LAST NIGHT. Do you see where I am going with this?
I do the most natural thing. I scream.
Jake suddenly shoots up and shouts,
"Where's the fire?"
He then turns to look at me his expression completely confused. We both stare at each other for a good minute.
I am ashamed to say that I did peek at his shirtless body a few times and swoon. His eyes then widened as if he finally understood what's going on.
"What the Fu-"
Before he can complete the sentence I literally push him off the bed. I'm still trying to convince myself that was because my personal space was violated and not because I wanted to just to see that if this was just a dream and that Jake Henderson is nowhere nearly as hot or maybe I just wanting an excuse to touch his chest.
Shit.
I was so much more innocent before.
He lands on the floor with a thump and I hear a very girlish scream. I stifle a laugh and crawl to the edge of the bed to make sure that Jake hasn't suffered brain damage. The poor kid can't afford to lose any more brain cells.
I blink twice to make sure what I was seeing. Jake was on top of Alec who was looking at him with his horrified green eyes. But that wasn't the worst part. Their faces were so close that they looked like they were about to kiss.

"If you guys are going to come out of the closet," I say, "Then please do it in someone else's room."
After that Jake scrambled of in one direction with Alec in the other and I burst out laughing.
"I'm glad that was amusing." Jake grumbled, "But Alec this is never going to happen."
"You just broke my heart Jake." Alec said sarcastically, "Into tiny pieces."
My headache comes back in full force and I start feeling annoyed.
"What the hell are you doing in my room, the both of you?" I say, "And Jake don't you own a shirt?"
"So you don't remember anything from last night." Alec asked.
"Nope all I remember was going to eat something..." I broke off.
Alec grinned.
"Best of luck explaining it to her man." He said, "I'm out of here."
"You are not going anywhere." I bark and Alec quickly scrambles back.
You know what I can live with this.
"High Clara was so much better." Jake mutters under his breath.
"Excuse me?" My eyes narrow dangerously.
"I mean nothing." He says with a slightly amused smile.
"What happened last night?" I demand.
Jake looks at Alec expectantly but Alec simply gives him a look saying that it's all on you.
"So Clara you remember when I told you not to have the brownies." He said looking kind of scared.
"Yes." I say slowly.
Then it dawns on me. Brownies. Waking up in the morning and not remembering anything about last night.
"You idiot." I shriek, "Why do you keep your brownies in the fridge, better question why do you even have them?"
"Hey it's not my fault they had my name on it and I told you not to eat them." Jake said, "but of course you did."
"I told him the exact same thing." Alec piped.
"Shut up!" Both me and Jake shout and Alec hastily retreats.
"It's not my fault that you are such a genius that you kept them in the bloody fridge." I shout, "It's like you were begging people to eat them."
"Well I'm not the idiot who had them despite being told not to." Jake said, "And I quite like high Clara reminds me when you were in camp and you-"
"Don't you dare." I threaten," Get out of my room."
Jake looks at me amused for two seconds. I take my pillow and throw it at him and for once my aim is perfect.
"What the hell is wrong-" he is cut off by me.

"It will be the lamp next."
He quickly gets up and almost runs out of the room. I turn to look at Alec who is looking dumbfounded. He feels my glare and looks at me.
"Yeah so I should be..." He quickly gets up and follows Jake.
I collapse into the bed already exhausted. I'm going to get out of this house even if it kills me.

"How did you manage to drag me out of bed again?"I ask.
"By telling you that we are going to spy on Rebecca and Jeremy." Samantha promptly replied.
"Right." I say.
"Can you please not talk every time you guys talk our oxygen depletes." Matt groaned.
It was true. Samantha, Matt, Alec and I were stuck in the tiniest closet possible and it was all Samantha's fault. Samantha and Alec had managed to drag me out of bed. Well Samantha did. Alec stayed at a distance until he was sure that he could enter my room without potentially putting his life in risk.
Talk about meltdown.
But hey it wasn't my fault. I mean seeing shirtless Jake first thing in thr morning kinda threw me off balance.
The only thing that made me come out was because Rebecca and Jeremy have been keeping their relationship suspiciously secretivr which makes all us curious. Apparently Jeremy has told neither Alec nor any of his friends on the football team exactly what was going on between them.
So it was curiosity more than anything that brought me out of the bed and made us go to a stinky bowling alley. It was Matt's bad luck that he got stuck with us due to Samantha who roped him in.
At first things were going perfectly. Alec's fake moustache didn't seem fake at all and the newspaper was doing a surprisingly good job of hiding us but we could barely hear them. So we went closer. We finally found the perfectly good spot of hiding behind the shoe counter. We could hear their conversation perfectly which was basically asking each other about food and then licking the food of each other's face.
It's gross how much they make out.
We were about to go happy that everything was fine and now we had official proof that they were going out. Samantha managed to click a few photos. We were about to get up and leave but then suddenly Jeremy started coming towards us and I panicked and I told everyone to hide.
So out of pure instinct all of us ran and hid in the closet right next to us. It was after we shut the door that we realized what an idiotic decision we had made. So there we were stuck in a closet which was pitch black.
We were trying to find the handle of the door but failing miserably. Actually not all of us were. I would have actually made an attempt had I not been so close to Alec. I mean I was secretly enjoying it.
"Death in a closet due to suffocation." Samantha said, "I can't think of any worst way to die. Especially when your best friend traps you in it."
"It's your fault." I say, "you know I suck at stealth operations don't you remember the last time?"
The last time was when Samantha and I had gone to spy on Alec and Michelle's date about two years ago. It was quite an epic fail if you tell me. All I did was panic. I was so scared that they were going to see me that I moved my car and accidentally bumped knocked a cyclist.
I don't know what happened next but I'm pretty sure I screamed or something because the cyclist came and asked me if I was alright. That was kind of embarrassing. So ever since then Samantha swore not to ever go with me on stuff like this.
"Well I didn't know you were capable of killing four people." Samantha retorted. I swing my leg hoping to hit Samantha but instead Matt cried out.
Oops.
"We are not going to die." Alec said, "I mean I rather take dying the closet then our friends outside realizing that we were spying on them."
"So seriously you would pick a closet to die of suffocation over a normal happy life." Samantha said, "Then get yourself checked."
Samantha had never liked Alec and she had made it clear from day one.
"Okay can we actually try to get out of here." Matt says, "I mean it's a crowded bowling Alley someone ought to have noticed that there are weird noises coming from the closet."
"Yeah well-"
I can't finish my sentence as at that exact moment someone opens the closet and we all tumble out. I'm a bit dazed at first but I had landed on Matt so I was fine. Samantha was grumbling because Alec had landed on her.
I look up to thank our saviors but my mouth goes dry.
Rebecca and Jeremy are both glaring down at the four of us and everyone in the bowling alley is looking at us.
"You know what." Samantha said breaking the silence, "You're right there are worst ways to die."
