《The Devil's Bride》Digestion

Were humans that easily tricked were they just average fools?
"I don't know what you're saying, ma'am. You're confusing me."
Breth turned around to meet with the eyes of one of the maidens. She wasn't in the best mood after she had come back from Hell. She could think back to when she had found out about Linda the cheap girl who now took the position she thought she deserved. She was full of wrath and anger.
"What's so hard in understanding?" Breth screeched. "You are all good for nothing and very high in being so dumb." She voiced out fiercely and swaggered away up to her room.
She tipped her head and gave a very big sigh. All she wanted was to be Synn's bride. She had a thing for him for a very long time now but she was too afraid to admit it. When she had heard about Synn's bride, her hope was all long gone after then. Although, she still hoped for another opportunity.
Synn had never really given an interest in her. He didn't see her as someone he could respect when unmistakably, he was her creator. He could never like someone so cheap as her.
She was a death marker and needed a mate but in her case, she needed Synn. She was so blinded by him she couldn't open her eyes to see the real truth that he wasn't for her. Everything about him yelled pure perfection and she needed him.
She took in another deep breath, her nerves pacifying. She had envisioned a life with him. However, she knew it wouldn't be that long but it was still worth it.

Back in hell, Linda is seen busy making designs and drawing with Uria. Well, she was technically just watching Uria make the decorations.
"And you put this sticker on here." Uria pointed to the book that had so many stickers on them already. "And you're done."
"What are we gonna use this book of stickers and drawing anyways?" Linda questioned holding up the book to her face. She adored the piece of art and glittering stickers that shun to her face.
"I don't know really." Uria buzzed. "But it was fun to do and maybe we could make more of them and hang them in your room." She busted.
Linda thought about this and smiled. "That's a great idea." She said picking up one of the stickers that had fallen on the floor and sticking them on her skin.
"I like this one better." She chirped. Uria giggled and placed one on her skin as well. "I prefer the fur stickers to the flower ones."

The two girls continued to draw and paste stickers until late at noon. Linda was trying really hard to keep her eyes open and the vigorous Uria who couldn't just stop talking about her escapades in hell and places to explore.
"Oops!" Uria exclaimed and gently patted Linda. "You're asleep already?" She asked.
"Huh?" Linda rubbed her eyes groggily and looked around. "Uria!" She whined. "We've been decorating for a long time now. Let's take a break and continue them later onwards." She insinuated.
Uria dropped the book of stickers on the floor and nodded. "You're right. I'm also tired." She agreed.
They got on the bed and drew the covers to themselves and soon the two best friends fell asleep soundly.
~
Synn laid on his back as he began thinking. He closed his eyes, still half-opened.
He was stupefied.
It's only been a day since his bride had arrived and he couldn't think straight anymore. He was gradually losing everything about him, most especially his mind.
A knock interrupted him out of his thinking as he drew in a loud sigh. He ticked his fingers and abruptly, the lock of the door was twisted open and someone came in.
It was Katrina, his close pal.
Katrina walked elegantly into his room, her eyes shimmering. She was a vampire who had an eye for Synn. The both of them had been really close since forever and since then, she was able to come and go out of the mansion as she pleased but that didn't mean he didn't set boundaries for her.
She bit her lips when she saw Synn laying on the bed. Her qualities were myriad and one of them was her naughty mind and thoughts.
"What are you thinking about darling?" She asked in an alluring tone. She had always been like this; finding ways to charm Synn and talking in seductive ways. Under her nose, he always dodged every way of her. He didn't want anything to do with her in any sort of way. He had planned to tell her how he felt about her ways and tones but that day was yet to come.
He stretched, raising his hands to scratch his neck. "Nothing." His voice reverberated in the room sending chills. That was exactly what she loved about him, his oblique way of seduction.
She purred adjusting the band of her jeans. She took a seat next to him on the red couch and smiled sweetly. "I heard of the new bride." She began. "How's she?" She questioned.
Bringing back his recent thought, he inhaled sharply and laid back down. This, Katrina, noticed and frowned.
"She's different." He started, his mind tracing back to Linda. "I don't think she can match my ways." He told.

Katrina's frown increased when she took notice of how he was talking about her. She felt jealous to know that he had taken interest in his bride. It was obvious from his tone.
She asked him, "What do you mean?"
"She's so soft and pure. I've never met someone like her before." He told. Images from when they had met back then came flooding into his mind.
Katrina didn't want to hear of anything like that again from him but she really wanted to know who had caught his interest and how. She felt desirous and upset.
"Is she prettier than me?" She asked, biting her lipstick red lips.
Synn scoffed, laughing internally. "You're not even up to a quarter of how beautiful she looks." He replied.
Now this reply had burnt so much. She hated the way he directed insulted her causing her intrusiveness to grow more. She wanted to know more about Linda.
"Well, what's her name?" She asked, flipping her hair to the side of her neck.
Synn chose not to answer her when he sensed the motif of Katrina. She didn't have the best mouth so far of keeping shut. He didn't want the whole kingdom to know the name of his bride just yet.
"Lucifer?" That was what Katrina and other staff called him. The name of his dead lost father.
"Why are you here Katrin?"
He laid upright and faced the vampire who was longing for his attention since she had come into his room.
"To see you of course." She chirped happily with a smile. "I was bored of watching the sinner's death in the Lukewarm pit." She grinned.
"Is that so?" He asked raising his brows. "Might as well join them cause you are really starting to get picky in my business."
Gulping, the young vampire slowly got up. "Um..okay." She uttered ineptly. "I'm just gonna come back later and see to it." She said.
"See to what?" Synn asked. He didn't want her to come back and that's when he decided.
"You're no longer allowed to come into this mansion without my knowledge." He stated.
Katrina's eyes almost bulged out in surprise wanting to get on her feet to beg for a change but one look at him, she was gone immediately.
~
"Come on Linda! It's time for dinner!" Uria whined as she playfully slapped Linda on her back causing her to groan softly.
When Uria had told her of the surprise, she wasn't ready anymore and almost declined the idea. Linda was going to have dinner with the rest of the people downstairs. Ordinarily, she had all her meals in the bed but now it suddenly changed which meant, she was going to see Synn's face.
She blushed, her head buried in her pillows as she thought about it.
"Is someone blushing?" Uria teasing tone came. Linda jumped out of the bed when she felt ticklish hands come to grab her from her waist side.
"Stop!" She playfully whined trying to get away from the evil hands of Uria. When she had calmed down, she thought about the plan.
"Why now?" She asked.
"Why what?" Uria questioned trying to figure out what she was trying to pass on.
"I don't want to go. I want to have my dinner up here with you." Linda begged, her tone almost saddening.
Uria sighed and shook her head. "About that. I'm leaving today." She declared.
The poor heart of Linda did a backflip and landed in her rib cage with a crash.
"W-where to?" She asked, tears already brimming in her eyes. She didn't want Uria to leave. She was the only friend she had to talk to and play with.
Uria explained, "I'm going to earth to assist Abriana train the other maidens. I may also pay a visit to Cavda."
Linda was upset hearing Abriana's name. She hadn't forgotten about the motherly affection she received from her when she was still on earth and this made her felt sad as ever.
"I-it hurts." Linda softly whimpered. "Every dear one I know is leaving me slowly just like how I'd left my parents." She lamented.
"Oh, shush! Don't say that! Not all dear ones are meant for you and not all dear one leaves." Uria supported.
"You are going to be alright. Just believe in yourself and try to be happy always. You're beautiful." Uria told.
The two were already an emotional mess when they left the room.
Linda was safeguarded downstairs by one of Synn's army. She has washed her face to get rid of the tears and puffy face but it didn't get rid of the pain she was feeling.
As she approached, she could hear voices. Scratch that, deep voices.
Her nerves were jittering and shaky. On the last step on the staircase, she looked up to meet the eyes of males. Her face heated up at the attention she got when she saw smirks on one of their faces. She was intimidated and shy.
But what caught her attention was the man at the end of the dining table.
Synn.

Sara's (not really) Fabulous System Armageddon, Book I: The World Ended at Rush Hour
Planet Earth, Monday, October 7th, 2019. 18:30 * * On a fateful day, during rush hour in eastern North America, Heavens and Hell crumbled and fell from their higher dimension on Earth. It came from "above" but not the same above we regard in our tridimensional Euclidean reasoning. No, it came from "above" as in from a higher dimension. Bits and pieces of those places fell on Earth from all directions, this time in tridimensional Euclidean space. Satellites, the ISS, and space debris all were wiped clean from orbit. Even those that didn't crash with the falling debris were knocked off orbit by the shockwaves. On the ground, power distribution lines were disrupted and most power facilities were left abandoned by their dead staff. Most of these had emergency shutdown routines that engaged in a few days. Some others had a survivor among their staff that followed protocol and activated their SCRAM switches, stopping the power plant. Long-distance communication disappeared the internet along with it. The world was plunged into technological darkness. Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand human beings perished immediately in the pulse of magical energy from the torn spatial boundary. Spirits were rent asunder and vanished, their fate neither salvation nor damnation, only oblivion. The criteria used for this culling was latent magic potential. It didn't discriminate against education, gender, age, or ethnic group. But of the around seven million survivors, most would meet their doom moments later. Those on moving vehicles, like the ones driving on highways suddenly had to contend with high-speed uncontrolled cars and trucks driven by corpses. Trapped in their vehicles and helpless, they became part of the long snake of crushed metal. Very few survived. Those in the air or out in the sea were alone and probably unable to control their rides. Airplanes crashed, and ships kept their course or drifted away, depending on their autopilot. Several ended their own lives in utter despair after seeing their loved ones die in front of them. Another large group would die at the hands of other survivors. Violence and aggression became the norm. Only a few sparse pockets of not-so-sane survivors managed to band together and cooperate for the sake of mutual survival. The sole survivor in a five-over-one apartment building in Georgia, a girl became the keystone to humanity's survival. Sara's fabulous System Apocalypse had just started. She has only one remark. It was anything but fabulous. * * Updates every Wednesday and Sunday.
