《The nerd and Mr. Popular✔️》Chapter 5

"Is everything okay,?" Zara waved her hand in front of my face as she noticed the frown on my face.
She followed my gaze and sighed, "Who's that guy?"
"Nevermind, he's a schmuck" I averted my gaze and focused my all attention on Zara.
"Ooo, so you just came yesterday and already had encounters with people," she cooed.
" Leave it, bro," I said in a bored tone and shoved a piece of sandwich in my mouth.
"So what were you telling me??" She wiped her mouth from a napkin and raised her brows.
"Umm, I was in Benson Town for some part-time job but I didn't get any" I completed my sentence with a weak smile.
" Wait- but Whyy? I mean how can you manage? Job and college..." She gave me a weird look. To be honest, I didn't wanna tell her anything but I had no choice.
I told her my story in short and she hugged me tightly.
"I'm sorry, you had to go through all these things," her eyes were shining from some tears. I didn't even tell her everything.
"We should go, professor is gonna kill us," I stood from my chair and held her hand.
We were walking silently towards the classroom when she handed me something, as I saw it, my eyes widened. I felt disgusting. It was money, freaking money...
What was she doing to me?? I hate sympathy, I hate.....
"What the hell," I jerked her hands away and gave her a hurt look.
"Zaynah, shit I'm sorry... I didn't mean this" maybe she understood.
" Zara...I can't believe it," I pushed back the tears and sighed.
" Zaynah, I was just helping you cuz you're my friend not out of any sympathy. You can return me later but how are you gonna survive without money, also we will find a job for you tomorrow, don't give me this look, please," she broke in her tears and I was stunned. I wasn't familiar with this type of cordiality, it was new for me.
I pulled her in a hug and smiled. I didn't know about her much but my heart wanted to trust that beautiful girl. My lips formed in a full smile as on the second day of IISC, I found the first friend of my life.

"So your little ass is making new friends, cool," as I stepped into my room, a high-pitched voice hit my ear. Farwa was laying down on the bed with a packet of chips and a laptop.
"Yeah, do you have any problem with that,?" I gave her my sly smile.
" Lol, I ain't interested in stupid girls like you," she rolled her eyes and put headphones on her head.
Seriously, I wasn't getting what was her problem, I mean she was throwing shades at me for no reason. I took a small shower and started walking outside the hostel.
I was lost in my thoughts when I bumped into something hard, it was a stupid pole... I lost my balance and as I was about to fall when my body stopped in mid-air. Two strong arms tightened their hold on my waist and electricity shot from my body. I flinched from that unknown touch and turned my head.
Damnnn, Wajahat...what was he doing here? And did he really help me? I can't believe it. I mean he was rude and selfish in the morning...
"You can drool over me later," I came back from my stupid thought and stared at him like an idiot. His dark brown eyes showed a hint of annoyance.
"Sorry," I stood straight and calmed my breath. My heart was racing...whyy???
My cheeks were red and hot...whyy???
My hands became cold... Whyy???
"God has given you two eyes, please use them wisely rather than checking any guy," he wasn't joking... I swear he wasn't joking... He had sour expressions on his face.
Great...I made a clown of myself again...
I cursed myself and rolled my eyes.
"I don't know what's wrong with you, no one asked your stupid advice," I gave him a mean look.
" Woah, I saved you from falling, and instead of thanking me, you're throwing tantrums," he smirked and gave me a look like I was looking like some clown.
"Don't bother, please," the morning's incident was fresh on my mind.
" Don't worry, I don't notice silly girls like you," he moved a step closer to me and whispered.

My face became red from humiliation, he didn't waste his time and made his way away from me.
Allah, when I don't wanna see his stupid face then why all these things are happening to me.
I tried to push his thoughts away from my mind and sighed. The next moment my eyes traveled to a couple who was laughing and smiling. In her royal blue dress, farwa was breathtaking as usual and God knows why she was laughing like this.
So, now what's your problem?
Nothing... I mean... How could she laugh with someone like him...
When did you become nosy, Zaynah... it's none of your business, right?
Yeah, whatever...
I put a last glance at them, they both were looking so good together...I didn't know why but my heart twitched a little. I silently moved towards my room. I hopped on my bed and opened the books. I was so lost in my studies that now at this point I didn't care about Wajahat or Farwa.
Don't forget Zaynah, you're here for your dreams...
******
"You gotta kidding me, Zara," I opened my mouth in disbelief.
"Lol, what's surprising,"
"Do I really deserve this? I mean I don't have any degree and the offer is just so... "I chewed my bottom lip.
" Babe, you deserve it, and don't underestimate them, those kids are headache.... they have rejected more than fifty tutors," she put her hand at mine.
" So, did you talk to their parents?"
"Of course bro, I asked my mum, and actually they are my cousins. My aunt's health is worse so she's in London with my uncle for her treatment. And we all live in the same house, they are like real brothers for me, and my aunt is the sweetest lady," her eyes were sparkling from their love. She was lucky, MashaAllah.
"Are you sure, they won't scare me?" I was still in hesitation. Tutoring wasn't a big deal for me, but they were rich kids, maybe spoiled ones...I didn't know anything about them. I was just scared...
I was so thankful to Zara, people like her weren't easy to find, I mean yesterday I told her about my problems, and today she was here with this wonderful job. They were paying me 20k per month for tutoring two kids for hours. It was too much for me...I mean maybe it was not a big amount for them but I didn't have any special degree.
"Hey stop overthinking, let's do grab something, I'm starving" Zara pouted and I smiled at her.
Gosh, I love her so much...
"We were about to sit on an empty table when someone pulled the chair. I lifted my head in annoyance and my eyes grew larger.
Wajahat..? Ya Allah, why always him???
I folded my hand on my chest and shot him a glare. He ignored it and landed his ass on the chair.
"Bitch," I muttered under my breath.
"Look, it's our seat so please can you go somewhere else?" Zara stood in front of him and rolled her eyes.
She gave a weird look to Zara and then became busy on his phone.
Poor Zara,
"Didn't you hear me?" Zara growled and I gulped my saliva. We drew a lot of attention towards us and I didn't want any drama.
"Which seat, this is mine. I sat here first," he smirked at Zara.
" But we saw it first," Zara sulked and gritted her teeth.
" Who cares,"
" Zara, let's go... We can sit somewhere else, there's no need to argue these types of foolish guys. They just love to create drama," I held Zaynah's hand and dragged her with me.
Wajahat gave me a murderous look, I saw his body got stiffened but, man! who cares?? I was happy that today I said something at least!
