《What is Love? [Dave East FanFic]》11.

Continuous buzzing jolted Dave out of his sleep. He turned over carefully trying not wake the girls. Sinai had managed to sneak her way into her parents room and was snuggled between them. His eyes adjusted to the bright light of his phone as he bought it up to his face. It was 7:30am. There were 17 missed calls from Millie. Dave sucked his teeth, this girl doesn't know when to quit, he thought.
Instead of returning her calls, he put his phone down and got up. Dave was pissed - who calls someone that early in the morning. Grunting, he got up and went to the on suite marble bathroom. Naala shifted in her sleep as she felt the bed get lighter. She was knocked up from a combination of a late night with Dave and her pain medication.
He looked in the mirror and laughed, his whole chest and back were full of scratches from Naala. Thinking about his plans for the day, Dave turned the shower on and grabbed his toothbrush. He liked his water hot so he ran the shower whilst he brushed his teeth. After finishing up with mouthwash, he hopped in the shower.
Today Dave was going to Azure's studio for the styling session that was supposed to happen a few weeks ago. So much had been happening that he hadn't had a chance to go back there. He wanted to meet up with Azure as her and Naala haven't been speaking since Naala was discharged from hospital last week. He wants to get down to the bottom of it.
Naala was awoken by the sound of water and Dave's humming. Looking to her side she saw Sinai still sleeping with her mouth wide open. She gently got up and re-positioned Sinai in the bed so she could get an extra 30 minutes sleep whilst she and Dave got ready.
Today was the day that Naala was finally returning back to work after having almost 5 weeks off. She was anxious to get back to work, she'd missed a lot with her clients. Walking sluggishly to the bathroom, Naala was greeted by a dripping wet Dave wrapping a towel around his waist.
"Good morning beautiful," Dave grinned, pulling Naala into him. Naala wriggled out of his grip,
"Amirrrr you're all wet," Naala said moving to the toilet and sitting down. This was all new to Naala, Darnell was never this affectionate with her, let alone be in the same bathroom with her without terrorising her. She didn't want push Dave away but it felt too good to be true.
"I don't care if I'm wet I wanna kiss my woman," Naala smiled as he kissed her lips repeatedly, baring in mind she was still on the toilet.
"You're so nasty, what if I was taking a shit," Naala said softly as she flushed the toilet.
Dave shrugged and walked into the room to put on his clothes. Sinai was now up staring into space, something she often did when she just woke up.
"You okay Stinky?" Dave questioned,
Yawning Sinai shook her head and laid back down. This alerted Dave as she was normally a bit more active in the morning.
"Daddy I don't feel good," Sinai groaned with a few sneezes following after. Naala poked her head into the room to tell Sinai to get up and saw her still laying there, with Dave by her side.
"What's wrong baby?" Naala questioned making her way over to them.
"She really burning up Love," Dave said in a worried tone. Naala touched Sinai with the back of her hand and it was true.

"Aw my poor baby,"
"Lemme go get you some medicine and call up the school," Naala said as she slipped on her bedroom slippers and headed towards the door.
"We not gon' take her to a hospital?" Dave questioned rubbing Sinai's back.
Naala laughed out loud, "No Amir, she's just got a cold, there's been a bug going around her class so I knew this would happen,"
Dave huffed and looked back at Sinai who was sitting there with the biggest pour on her face. He didn't like when his baby was sick.
"Well I'm gon' stay here and look after her so you can go into the office," Dave said, he wanted Naala to get back to work, he knew how much she needed to get back to normal.
"You sure? I can get Nana to drop off my work," Naala quizzed, Dave had never been with Sinai when she was sick, and that girl could be a diva.
Nodding his head Dave put on his shirt and got up, "I'm sure baby, I want you to go," Dave walked up to Naala and held her by the waist, "Go make us some coin," He chuckled squeezing her butt gently.
"How did I get so lucky?" Naala whispered into his chest, "Nah, how did I get so lucky ma'" Dave said licking his lips. A loud cough from Sinai drew them apart. "Let me go and get her that medication," Naala said walking out of the bedroom and headed to the medicine cabinet down the hall.
"Nai Nai, it looks like its just me and you today Mama," Dave said getting into the bed with Sinai.
"Yay, can we watch Barbie Dreamhouse?" Sinai croaked, even with her sickness she was always ready for a bit of Barbie.
"We can watch whatever you want," Dave said softly as he rubbed her head, grabbing the remote at the same time. Luckily they had a 65 inch TV mounted on their bedroom wall which was very convenient for days like this.
Coming up the stairs, Naala stopped at the bedroom door and watched Dave and Sinai. They were smuggled up under the comforter watching TV, Sinai was busy playing with her Dad's braids and Dave seemed very intrigued with what was on the TV.
Naala walked in and sat the medicine on the side dresser and went straight to the closet which was basically a massive conjoining room with a vanity dresser. It was her first day back so she wanted to look good. Her and Dave went to Sak's a few days ago to pick her out a whole new wardrobe - she didn't want any of her clothes from the old house, she needed a fresh start. She settled on a Mint green pantsuit with her yellow Amina Muadi's pairing that with her yellow croc skin Hermés bag. Naala was also sporting a new hair cut, this was truly a new Naala.
She sat down at her vanity and began her makeup. She never really wore heavy makeup to work as she never had the energy in the mornings. Her phone buzzed so she picked it up. It was a text from Azure;
Naala's heart warmed up at the sight of the message from her sister, she truly missed her but she was being stubborn. I will call her later, Naala thought as she continued her makeup.
"You don't need all that," Dave's gruff voice rang through the room. He thought Naala was absolutely breathtaking without any makeup at all, he never understood why she wore makeup.

"Oh stop it, I look like a raccoon without it," Naala whined, finishing off with a bit of Fenty Lip gloss.
"Bully gon' drive you to work and pick you up, if you need lunch just call him," Dave said eyeing up his girlfriend. Naala turned around to face him with a big pout on her face.
"I don't want him to do that Amir, why can't I drive myself?" Naala said, she hated attention and that was gonna make her the centre of attention, having a bodyguard drop her off.
"Nah, he taking you and that's that." Naala's mouth closed, when Dave was serious she knew not to argue with him.
"Fine," She grumbled, she got up and grabbed her bag and phone. "You sure you want me to go, its not too late for me to call Nana," Naala said as she moved closer to Dave staring at his lips.
"I'm sure Love, we good" He said as he leaned down and wrapped his lips around hers. Their tongues danced excitedly causing Naala's pussy to tingle.
"Mmm, stop before I don't go anywhere," Naala moaned into the kiss, giving him two more pecks, she walked out of the closet and over to Sinai who was lightly snoring. She must have been very sick because she never fell asleep whilst watch Barbie Dreamhouse. She leaned down carefully and planted a kiss on her forehead and then turned to Dave,
"Give her this when she wakes up," She pointed to the medicine, "and make sure she has something proper to eat Amir, not ice cream." Naala scolded, Sinai had a way of getting whatever she wanted out of Dave and he was none the wiser.
"Yes ma'am," Dave smirked, admiring her. "Bully outside, you can pick what you ride in," Dave said as he slid his phone in his pocket after seeing Bully's message.
"Oooh, I'm taking the Wraith then," Naala teased, that was Dave's favourite car, "Go 'head," Dave said as she skipped out the room.
Naala walked out to the garage and saw Bully waiting there, scrolling through his phone. The sound of her heels clacking made him look up and slip his phone in his pocket.
"Morning Ms. Naala, you ready?" Bully asked, Naala scoffed at him calling her 'Ms.' she hated that.
"I've told you before just call me Naala, Bully, and yes we are taking the Wraith today!" Naala said excitedly, every other time Bully had driven her around they had taking the Range Rover or the Escalade.
Bully raised his eyebrows ,"Boss cool wid' that?" Everyone knew that the Wraith was Dave's favourite car and it only came out for special occasions.
Naala laughed, "Yes he said I could!" Nodding his head Bully went to the case where all the keys were and grabbed the RR key. Telling Naala to wait right there, he went into the garage to pull the car round.
On the other side of town, Mia sat in the bathroom sniffling quietly. 4 positive pregnant tests sat on the counter in front of her. So many thoughts were running through her head as she watched them. All she could think was what the hell is she going to do now. A wave of nausea hit her dramatically making her turn to the toilet and bring up everything she ate this morning. She had picked up the tests last night after work due to her feeling extremely sick for some time.
Her phone buzzed loudly on the counter, she hit the decline button for the 15th time. Ace had been trying to get in contact with her for a few days now and she's been ignoring him. I can't have his baby, she thought. They have only known each other for a little over a month and now they are going to be parents. Mia thought back to night they met, she was so drunk and horny, all she wanted was dick, she should have made sure that he wrapped up. Tears cascaded down her face as she thought of her fate. Her phone began to buzz again but this time it was a group call with Taina and Naala. Wiping her face quickly, she picked up.
"Y'all bitches are so fake," Taina shouted, it looked like she was in Starbucks.
"How we fake Nana? And if you in Starbucks, get a caramel frappe and a muffin, pretty please" Naala questioned softly. Mia could tell she was in a car as she could see the RR seat behind her.
"I got you girl, wait, big daddy Dave got my bitch in a Wraith?!" Taina shouted once again, squealing right after.
"Stop," Naala laughed and looked at the screen, "Mia why aren't you at work? I called up to say Sinai was sick and that bitch Mandy answered the phone." Naala said with an eye roll. Both her and Mia despised Mandy, she was just so messy.
"I called in sick," Mia said, her voice breaking as she said that. "Mia baby, what's the matter?" Taina asked. Mia looked at her friends on her phone and broke down.
"Oh shit, who's son do I need to beat up?" Taina said watching her friend sob on the phone.
"I-I" Mia stuttered, unable to get the words out. Her friends both sat there with worried expressions on their faces, Mia was never one to be so open with her emotions but something was clearly bothering her.
"Mia what is it?" Naala asked soothingly, it was scaring her how much Mia was crying. "Bully, can we make a quick detour, I need to check on my friend." Mia overheard Naala say.
"No! I-I'm fine, can we do lunch?"
"Of course babe, where do you wanna go?" Taina asked softly,
"You guys pick and text it to me, I got to go" Mia croaked out.
"Wait --" She heard before she hung up abruptly. She didn't want to tell them over the phone, that wasn't right, not her best friends. A text message came through her phone and a small smile broke out on her face,
Mia got up from the floor and began to clean her bathroom. She always cleaned when she was stressed and today her stress levels were through the roof. She threw the pregnancy tests in the bin and proceeded to clean the counter. I'm gonna get through this, she said to herself. If it meant that she was going to be a single mother then so be it, she didn't need a man. Ace was not a serious person and she was scared to tell him about the pregnancy, they hadn't been dealing with each other for that long.
Instead of dwelling on this Mia decided to get ready for lunch with her girls. They hadn't seen each other that much since Naala's accident and she had missed them so much. She realised the girls had decided on Ruth's Steakhouse for lunch and her mouth watered at the thought of it. She stood by the mirror and admired herself, her stomach was still as toned, you wouldn't know she was pregnant. Her skin held a significant glow and her hair flowed down her back. She walked into her closet to pick out a chill outfit for lunch, before she goes she needed to go to the grocery store.
She settled on a Louis Vuitton sweatsuit and a pair of white sneakers. She tied her hair back into a low bun as she couldn't be bothered to do anything with it. She did a light make up look because it was only lunch.
Back at the Brewster residence, Sinai was now awake and eating her breakfast. Her dad managed to whip her up some 'princess pancakes' for his princess and he gave her a cup of orange juice to wash it down. She was still sneezing and coughing every once in a while but at least she was up. Dave sat on the couch texting Bully, he was making sure that Naala was okay at work. He ordered Bully to stay at her office with her - he wanted her to be safe at all times.
He saw Naala posted a picture of her stories on instagram which shocked him. She never posted on social media so she was definitely showing out. He titled his head and admired the picture. Damn, he thought. It was a selfie where Naala was showcasing her new hair cut and you could see the RR seats in the back. He screenshotted it and reposted it on his page with no caption, he didn't fuck with captions that much.

🗣
Dave liked both Ace's and Shooter's comments and was being petty and decided to answer a few hate comments. He didn't care what anyone said, that was his fucking baby and he was gonna protect her at all costs. There were a few comments saying that it was a publicity stunt or he had been hacked. Dave laughed at the comments about him being hacked and made a snap on his story to prove it was him on his account. Shaderoom was also blowing up as they were the first to post the suspected relationship - they were right.
The door bell rang which made Dave put his phone down and go to the door, he turned back to see Sinai was still eating and watching YouTube on her iPad. Opening the door, there stood Chanel waiting to be let in to her brother's house.
"You gon' let me in or you just gon' stare at me?" Chanel said with attitude laced through her voice. She pushed past Dave and headed into the living room.
"I think you forgot who's shit this is Chanel," Dave huffed and shut the door behind her.
"Where's Tete's baby?!" Chanel shouted, alerting Sinai who jumped off the chair and hugged her aunt.
"Aw is my baby sick?" Chanel asked as she saw Sinai sniffling.
"No shit, why you think she here at 12 on a school day?" Dave said smartly, earning a dirty look from Chanel.
"Ooooo Daddy, you said a bad word, put $10 in the swear jar." Sinai said pointing to a glass jar on the counter that was practically full.
" I meant shoot, don't tell your mama," Dave said as he popped at $50 bill in the jar. Dave knew that he was wasting his breathe saying that, as soon as Naala comes through the door, Sinai is gonna shut it from the rooftops.
"Whatchu doing here anyway 'Nel?" Dave questioned. Chanel rarely came to his house unless she wanted something.
Sighing Chanel said, "Mama has been annoying me so much, she told me I have to come and move in with y'all,"
Dave eyed his sister as he leaned up on the kitchen counter, "I know damn well she didn't tell you had to, you just want to,"
Chanel walked over to her brother with a pout on her face, "Pleaseeeee Bubby," She said calling Dave a nickname she gave him when she was 2 years old. Dave shrugged,
"It ain't up to me 'Nel, you sure mama ok with it?" Dave quizzed. He didn't want to come between his mother and Chanel because their mother was not a woman to play with.
"Her exact words were 'if you can't live under my roof, you better' go stay with your big brother'" Chanel said, twisting the words a bit, her mother did say that if she don't like her rules then she should leave but that was after Chanel bought home her boyfriend after her mon's strict rules not to.
"Well I gotta talk to Naala first and see if she's okay with sharing her space," Dave said truthfully, he had a woman now so those were her decisions.
"I'm sure she would love to have me, Sinai do you want me to live here with you and your mummy and daddy?" Nel asked softly,
"You gon' come to my tea parties?" Sinai asked as she looked like she was really contemplating saying yes.
"Of course!" Nel laughed, "Then you can stay forever!" Sinai cheered, with a light cough following after.
"Erm that's not happening, and lets get you some hot coco for that cough mama," Dave said with a smirk on his face. His phone pinged and he looked down, another text from Millie.

Dream Dungeon
Welcome to the dream dungeon. Ely suddenly finds himself in a mysterious dungeon accessed only through sleeping. Many people are drawn into this dream world, confused and mystified. Those in this dungeon must kill monsters to survive; maybe even each other. Join Ely as he struggles to survive a ruthless environment. What replaces his rest is untold trauma. What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.

But eventually the tragedy reached him. And when it did... it left a broken man, who was tired of the world and it's circumstances. He took things into his own hands. He would change the world. Now unbound by attatchments and responsibility, in a completely new world for him to explore, he would make sure his new life didn't end up like the last one. This fiction won't be updated regularly due to my own circumstances and while I will try to update it often, I won't always be able to. That being said I hope you enjoy this little work of mine. I'm not an experienced, and don't consider myself a good author in any way. But hopefully some people will enjoy this fiction like I do writing it, regardless of that.
