《The Pentagon》Chapter 9: The Jungle

Today is the day. Initiation day. The day I prove to myself finally that I no longer feel anything for her. That she no longer matters. That we succeeded in getting her out of our lives...and hearts.
The invite for the initiation was delivered to her on Wednesday and we have made sure she is isolated. She has no friends. Not even the kid who has stinky feet will go near her. But it is just the beginning. We have all year to make her feel everything she made us feel.
It took long for all of us to get over her loss. When she betrayed us and walked out of our lives. She couldn't have controlled the latter, but she didn't have to use and betray us like she did. We pledged loyalty to each other, and she stomped all over that. We would have done anything for her. Our star.
I shake those happy memories out of my head.
Fuck that shit.
And fuck her too for her role in everything that happened.
"You think she will show tonight?" Jose asks, voice sounding a little too hopeful for me.
I scowl at him, but he rolls his eyes.
"I hope she doesn't, then we can show her the full extent of our wrath." Leo says, almost absentmindedly. But I know my friend well. He might pretend to be hardcore but if anyone has ever cracked his shell, then it was her. It has always been her he could be vulnerable with.
When she and her family left, he couldn't deal with all that emotional shit and so he turned to communicating with his fists. He is not a talker; he only talks with us but other than that his words are few, but he is always the first one liable to throw the first punch.
Making sure he doesn't lose his shit is all our part-time job. Although Mason isn't that much better, at least he has better impulse control than Leo. He can step away from a situation and think sometimes before acting. It took a while, though.
After her we all got in a lot of trouble. It was around the time our fathers started intensifying our physical training and she left.
Everything just happened at once and we became monsters to cope. We are all in high school, but our peers are not here; they are out there.
"Yeah, she thinks she can still worm her way in our lives, but she won't this time. She has to pay." Mason says coldly. Venom flowing from him in waves.

"You remember she is stubborn, what will we do?" I ask
"We should take her to the dungeon." Jose says with a tone so cold
I mean, I know we all hate her, but the dungeon is intense. I can't help the stab in my heart at the thought of her in there, but I also know I can't entertain those thoughts. I have to crush all those feelings.
I pull a blunt from my pockets and I light it. I pass it to Jose who pulls it twice before passing it.
"If only it was just her show tonight. I'm not in the mood of other people's tears, just hers." I say. The thought of her crying at our feet has my cock jumping in my pants. I see something flashing in Leo's eyes. He might pretend to not be affected by her, but I know he is, even if he doesn't want to be.
We have spent all week watching her. Each of us is in at least one of her classes. She is all alone.
I feel a bit bad knowing she really has no one but I know we can't go soft. She earned our wrath, and she will end up at our feet with tears in her eyes. When she surrenders to us and she thinks she will receive mercy, we will only punish her further.
"Yeah, but we can't let the other fuckers loose. The show must go on." Mason puffs smoke as he hands the joint to Leo.
We finish smoking and we make it to the clearing in the woods where the initiation takes place every year. Noise comes from that direction as we enter the woods.
The principal and the syndicate have an understanding. Other than the fact that our parents pretty much own this school as the largest donors, we found the dirt bag principal balls deep in one of the students once and we caught it all on camera, so we aren't really ones to be fucked with.
We come and go as we please in this school and we pretty much do whatever the fuck we want. And the house we live in was a staff house, but we claimed it in 9th grade, and it's been our castle since, modified to our liking.
The sea of student's parts for us and we make it to the front, and we stand on the short podium and look down at all of them.

All of them just ants, insignificant. My eyes wonder involuntarily. I don't see what I want to see, and I sweep them again.
"She isn't here." Mason says through gritted teeth. The rage almost breaking the surface. But we know we have a role to play. Mason snaps his fingers and one of our goons, a big hockey playing eleventh grader comes rushing. Mason gives the instruction and three of those guys disappear into the crowd.
Zar is about to get a rude awakening of the reality of her situation.
"Welcome to hell, assholes." Mason starts and then goes on to tell all the initiates the rules. The first is an obstacle course to find three items. The finders of those items earn a place among our chosen ones. The rest have hell awaiting them. But first it's the gallon of milk. That part is always disgusting.
Almost half the shitheads always end up shitting themselves before they come back. We, of course, have camera-ready individuals all over campus to capture the mishaps.
We are cruel assholes, but it's just who we are. It is our duty to gives these kids a taste of the real world. The world is full of assholes like us.
The ones who shit themselves are always collected and sprayed before the marking ceremony. My favorite part of the night.
People think we are assholes, but the marking ceremony is a way we show that everyone else is a monster. The kinds of things these turds write on each other's foreheads. It's our way of holding the mirror up so all of them can look at themselves and see we are all monsters.
Gary and his squad come back with a very pissed off looking Zar and I want to smile. I can't help but notice how breath-taking she looks even pissed off. She has pajama pants and top and a cardigan on top. She was having a lazy evening.
I don't know why I feel wrong taking her out of her comfort for this bullshit, but she can't get away from shit. She has to learn; she has to pay.
Mason's gaze descends on her and even I want to avert my gaze. Zar only looks up briefly before she averts her gaze. I see her eye roll as she looks anywhere but at us.
The old Zar is peeping through. She was always rebellious. She always did what she wanted, and she was never scared of any of us. You could be pointing at her with a knife, and she'd just laugh. My cock grows tight in my pants, and I can't even adjust myself.
"So, you, Miss Clark, think you are too good to accept our gracious invite." Mason steps down the podium and he stalks to her slowly like a predator that is moving in on its prey.
I see Zar's body tense. But she doesn't answer him. Her gaze remains down. So, her plan is to ignore us.
Oh, that won't do. That won't do at all. I step down the podium and I get closer to her. My blood pumping harder as I get closer. I stare down at her with Mason. He hooks a finger on her chin, and she raises her eyes defiantly.
Yes.
It's always more fun breaking a strong person.
"I asked you a question, Clark." He repeats
"You didn't say 'please'." she answers in defiance, her eyes almost twinkling with it
Gasps and murmurs rise from the other students. All eyes are on us. What we'll do with her. We are known to crush rebellion. But I must admit, I am rock hard.
Leo and Jose come and stand on either side of us. The other students give us a few feet of space.
"I think you need an attitude adjustment." Mason says with a cruel smile. Then he looks at all of us. Her fate has been decided and we all nod at him.
"This new initiate thought she could escape the very sacred traditions of our institution. Without tradition, we are just animals in the wild." Mason says to the crowd
Gorilla sounds ring in the air. Zar looks around, but she gives no outward reaction. She looks bored.
"Dungeon!" He calls and the crowd goes wild.
Bunch of animals.
Gary and squad grab her and me and Leo follow them to make sure she doesn't do anything smart like break free. But I'm not stupid, they probably brought Leo with me because they think I'll go soft on her.
We get to the basement, and we throw her in, and we turn the key. She will learn that we aren't anything to play with. She will learn today.
