《Empresses of Pangaea: The Clash of Queens [ BOOK 1 ]》5

After the ceremony for the day and lunch it was time that everyone had some fun.
The army's and servants of all eight empresses were now having a grand time celebrating in the ballroom in the long house. The eight empresses sat a one long table together over seeing the event, while the Queen Council did the same just across the room.
Kiana turned towards Rehema, putting down her glass of wine. Her pet pelican has now been flying all over the room.
"So, what made you pick the skinny shy boy for your harem?" Kiana asked. The other empresses where talking to one another as well and drinking wine. All expect Adelaide who held a stern face and was keeping watch of her servants and crew. "I saw much better choices Fan Du presented to you."
Rehema shrugged, "I don't know I just wanted to be unpredictable I guess." Rehema peered at the dance floor and noticed her sister Esi was dancing with someone from the North American Lands.
Kiana gave her a uncertain look, "What good will that do too you if his manhood won't please you in bed?"
Rehema laughed, "Sometimes its not all about that, besides, I find it amusing that it's the ones that people look down at the most that are the most loyal. Sometimes it's not all about sex Empress Kiana."
Kiana scuffed, "Well to me it is. The harem is only for sex and babies in my book, nothing more, nothing less. You let the harem in your personal life and your duties as empress, you will be screwed."
"I know when to draw the line," Rehema stated.
"Do you think he'll last?" Kiana asked.
Rehema looked at her confused.
"I mean the harem can be a dangerous place for those not strong enough. Some of those boys will tear each other apart for the sake of favoritism," Kiana said, she poured herself another glass of wine.
"I do know how dangerous it is, my own birth father was a victim of such," Rehema said calmly.
Kiana stopped pouring her wine, "How did they do it?" She asked lowering the bottle slowly.

"Poisoned, never got to meet him and was raised by my adoptive father ever since in my home palace," Rehema said. "Its insane what another man will do to others for the sake of favoritism and love." Rehema yawned and sipped some wine, "But I have told the emperor that I have choose as leader of the harem that I have no patience for scheming and jealously, and there will be consequences for it."
Kiana scuffed, "That's what I said when I first became empress of the sea and islands, and I have had four men in my harem dead from such schemes and had to sentence two of them serve punishments. Its inevitable, a harem with no betrayal, treachery and corruption simply does not exist."
Rehema watched as her people laughed and celebrated around her, "I will be sure to keep a strong eye on everything, so it doesn't lose control."
"Sometimes I do envy the woman that just have one husband, oh how that lifestyle is much simple," Kiana continued. "I worry how my offspring will manage once my time comes and I'm no longer empress." Kiana scanned the room and nodded her head to the corner of the ballroom where the East Asian boy that Fan Du had Rehema take as a gift for her harem was. He was sitting by himself in the corner of the room by a table, looking down at his lap.
"It seems he has a lot of warming up to do," Kiana stated. He seemed out of order and looked awkward around the crowd.
"I guess I shall talk to him," Rehema said getting up to leave.
Rehema went on to approach him. When he looked up and saw her coming, he quickly bet down to greet her, "Your majesty," he said in a shy tone.
Rehema gave him a soft smile and told him to stand. Together they went to sit down at the table in the corner of the celebration.
"Well, I haven't got to at least to learn your name, and your all here by yourself," Rehema began. She noticed that he seemed to now be sacred as if she was going to hurt him.

"Sang-chul Min, your majesty," he uttered.
"Well, Sang-chul you're in no mood to celebrate with the rest of my crew?" Rehema asked.
"I don't really now anyone..." He responded.
Rehem grabbed his hand on the table gently and held it. He finally looked up and was staring in her eyes. She noticed he was a bit teary.
"I promise there isn't anything to fear. I know it might be scary leaving the East Asian lands and serving a different woman, but I promise we aren't monsters," Rehema stated.
Sang-chul chuckled, and it was the first time Rehema saw a smile on his face, "I'm glad to be leaving the East Asian Lands, Empress Fan Du never saw any interest in me. It was quite lonely for me in a harem as big as hers," He said scratching his head.
Rehema smiled back at him, "Well you're officially the seventh boy in my harem now, and the first foreigner."
"Your majesty may I ask?" He was quiet for a second. "Why did you pick me?" He blurted out.
"I see the most potential in those who are underestimated," Rehema answered.
Esi then came running approaching her sister, "Rehema are you not going to dance with us, where doing the circle dance routine."
"I'm coming!" Rehema told her, and she turned her attention back to Sang-Chul. "We will have much to talk about later but for now get to know everyone, and don't be so shy." She pinched his cheek in a playful manner before getting up to leave and join Esi.
At the end of the day the two sisters retreated to their rooms both a little tipsy and drunk from the fun during the afternoon and night celebrations.
Esi giggled stumbling in the room and crashing on the ground.
"Well, I'm glad you had fun," Rehema said flopping on her bed and taking off her shoe.
"It wasn't disastrous, look your already becoming a fine empress already. You truly held it down," Esi remarked as she laid near the fireplace in the room keeping warm.
"You expected me not too?"
"I don't know," Esi shrugged, "Its just when we were kids you hated having the leadership role."
"Cause with leadership comes troubling responsibly, but I have no choice know that the future of the African lands has landed in my hands, its my destiny to protect it," Rehema said as she laid down and stared at the ceiling of the room.
"Were you shock with my choice from the men Fan Du presented to me?" Rehema asked. The noise from the fireplace crackled.
"I always knew you had weird taste in men, so I'm not surprised," Esi remarked. "You and Empress Kiana Iona seemed to be getting along quite well."
"She was the only one truly interested in getting to know me."
"Notice how the Kasperek did not say a word the whole time, nothing to no one. Even the crew of the European lands they were so awkward and strict. Like they didn't know how to have fun," Esi jeered.
"I noticed," Rehema said. "And its unfortunate we won't get to meet the Empress of the Frozen Lands, Marjo Vanhala."
"Can you blame the woman, after what the Kasperek's did to her family I wouldn't be happy to participate with the other empresses either," Esi said. "But we can't be too isolated from the other empresses, and we can't be really close either. Kiana does seem like a good ally so far."
"Don't judge too fast based on first impressions, because anytime there can be wolf's in sheep's clothing," Rehema concluded and blew out the last candle near her bed and wished her younger sister a good night. Tomorrow they had to deal with final goodbyes in the morning to the other empresses and finally in the afternoon get ready to depart back home.
