《Stubborn Stiff Tobias' Sister -Completed》A New Beggining

"This is a new start" I said to myself. Tobias got out before it was too late but by doing so he left me behind. I was dressed in lifeless abnegation clothing. The choosing ceremony is today in about an hour. My aptitude test was administered by someone named Aiden who was a Dauntless no doubt. He wore all black and on his shoulder he had a black rose with a girl's name in it. He told me something I didn't already know my results were Dauntless. That's what I wanted him to think anyway. I'm actually divergent which I'd found out on my own and with some erudite friends I quickly found out how to make sure nobody would ever see it coming I just had to ignore my normal urges. My silky red hair was in the typical uniformed abnegation bun. I wouldn't be choosing Dauntless for Tobias but for me. I wanted to experience freedom for once even if it meant following my brother's path although I really didn't want to see him. The last time we were able to talk (his choosing day) we got into an argument. I think I was the one who pushed him to dauntless because without our argument I think he would've gone to Candor. I don't know exactly why I thought that but he had said a couple things to me before about it. My father calls for me and my breath hitches. I'm not nervous for the choosing ceremony. I'm worried about what my father will think. My palms are sweaty as me and Marcus make our way to the abnegation bus once on the bus we see everybody in abnegation clothes. It was so bright on the bus making it hard to see. I would be one of the first names called for my last name. Marcus, if I could even call him my father was calling out names when he got to one that stood out to me. "Beatrice Prior" he called out. I've not known Beatrice very long. I've only ever had one class with her but I have a feeling she'd be going to dauntless. She took the knife, slicing her hand open and placing it above the Dauntless flames after a moment of hesitation. The blood that fell on to the coals sizzled as I heard Marcus's voice call out "Dauntless," letting everyone know what she'd chosen. The fearless Dauntless started roaring and I found myself looking for someone in the crowd. "Tobias" I breathed out seeing my older brother at the ceremony. I must've not realized how long I'd been searching because before I knew it my father's loud voice boomed my name. "Charlotte Eaton" I blocked out that he had actually called me by my name usually he'd just swear at me and Tobias. "Here goes nothing, well it's definitely something" I thought. I walked up to the 5 bowls looking up to see Marcus's glaring eyes. I took the knife from his hands as horrid memories I thought I'd forgotten started popping up. It's all over Charlotte. I sliced my own hand open. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, considering it was bruised from yesterday but I'd be fine. I lifted my hand over the coals watching as the blood fell in slow motion. Then the satisfying sound of sizzling hit my ears. "Dauntless," Marcus said. To me it was obvious he was angry but to everybody else it was normal.

Dauntless cheered as I walked away from Marcus putting on a stone cold face. I was patted on the back by dauntless members but my emerald eyes darted to Beatrice who basically jumped on me to give me a hug. "I'm so glad I'm not the only one," she said. Eventually she let go and before I knew it the dauntless borns and dauntless members began running telling us initiates that we should follow. I heard whoops and shouts and laughter all around me, and loud feet moving or running out of the hub. “What the hell is going on?” a boy next to Beatrice and me shouts. Beatrice shakes her head and keeps running. I am breathless when we reach the first floor, and the
Dauntless burst through the exit. Outside, the air is cold and the sky is beautiful from the
setting sun. It reflects the glass from the hub which looks prettier right now than I've ever seen it. The Dauntless sprawl across the street, blocking the path of a bus. Tris has to run to catch up to me. I can tell me nor Tris has ran in a long time. We follow the Dauntless down
the street and around a corner to hear a train horn. "Oh no" the Erudite boy says quietly. "Are we supposed to jump on it?" He asks. I scoff at this aren't erudites supposed to be smart? "Yes" Beatrice replies pretty much out of breath. The train comes for us it's lights flashing staight into my eyes as the horn blares. I heard a girl Yelp from the horn but I was already used to it. The doors of the cars are open and sure enough The Dauntless pile in groups up until only us initiates are left. The Dauntless borns are probably used to doing this and surely enough the only ones left are us initiates. Tris is in front of me as she starts running. I follow behind her. Not wanting to wait for Beatrice to take her chance I jump in the train car before she does. When I look back Beatrice is being pulled up by a tall candor. Beatrice and the candor who I found out was Christina talk for a while until the train begins going faster until we all crouch or sit down so we don't fall. I spaced out for a while thinking about what I'd do if Tobias somehow came to find me but I was interrupted quickly. "They're jumping off! Someone yelled. I turned seeing the dauntless in the cars ahead of us beginning to jump out of the cars onto the roof which had gravel on it. "I assume you two are going to come do until otherwise I'll see you then" I said preparing to jump out of the train car. Once the roof was in front of me I jumped without thinking. I heard Christina and Beatrice yell out three and they jumped at the same time both scraping their knees. From behind me I hear a boy say " ooh. scandalous! a stiffs flashing some skin" I immediately rolled my eyes which made me realize he was talking about Beatrice and me and her were the only abnegation transfers. “Listen up! My name is Max! I am one of the leaders of your new faction!” shouts Max who I only know because my father's also a leader. He is older than most dauntless but the one thing that stands out to me is that he is standing on the ledge of the roof. “Several stories below us is the members’ entrance to our compound. If you can’t muster the

will to jump off, you don’t belong here. Our initiates have the privilege of going first.” he said.
“You want us to jump off a ledge?” asks a girl her mouth wide open. “Yes,” Max says. He looks amused at the scared initiates.
“Is there water at the bottom or something?” a boy asks. “Who knows?” He raises his eyebrows to taunt us. He waits for 30 seconds for someone to volunteer and since no one has yet I decided to. "If none of you are brave enough to do it then move out of my way" I said. I was angry at the oblivious teenagers. "Mmmm Charlotte Eaton I presume" Max said waving his hand out which told me to jump. "Does she have a death wish?" I heard Christina say. I smirked at her turning around on the ledge. "Maybe I do" quickly stating I jumped off backwards.

Jackal Among Snakes: GameLit Fantasy Progression
The royal bastard of House Vasquer, Argrave, has changed after his stay studying magic at the Tower of the Gray Owl. The sickly man's awkward posture and cruel behavior have been replaced with a neat dignity and acerbic wit. His listless life has found a path of undeniable purpose. Most come away thinking he seems to know too many details about too much. Few can claim to know his motives or his goals. Behind the scenes, though, the primary contributor for an open-world RPG's wiki battles existential dread and things far beyond his ken as he struggles to adapt to a grim, gothic fantasy world that he had the misfortune to claim as his favorite game. This is his tale. #####What to expect from this story##### This piece is a high-fantasy style story, featuring many of the species and surroundings one might expect to find in such a world. The cultures are original and well-developed, with the primary setting being a European-style feudal society. Warfare, fell beasts, and natural disasters are commonplace in Berendar, and take the center of many plots. The protagonist is a smooth-talker, but the world does not exist for him; he must struggle to gain power. Expect daily releases until we catch up to my backlog.

The Gore tag is there more as a precaution, rather than a promise to keep producing gory words. Mortal Mewling is a bit of a slow burn in terms of start, scale and capacity of the protagonist.
