I wake up to a hand under my armpit, dragging me away from the bed. The other hand was covering my mouth. I look up and see the body of a friend. Uriah. His eyes are glazed as he drags me towards the balcony. I try to knock over a picture and it shatters. I don't think it woke Tobias though. He abruptly picks me up and holds me over the edge. "If you make another sound, I will kill him. Understand?" I nod and look into his eyes. "Please Uriah. It's me Tris. Your friend. Please." I plead and he squeezes me tighter. He pulls me back onto the balcony and pins me to the wall. I sit like this for what feels like a day, but is probably an hour.
Suddenly,he picks me up and drags me to the edge. He holds me there and I let out a whimper. I open my eyes and see him. Tobias is standing with fear in his eyes. "Tris!" He shouts and Uriah let's go. As I fall to the ground, I see memories. I see our wedding. Me seeing Caleb again. My mom. They all flood back to be as my body falls to the ground with a thud. It all goes black.

Thrust into a constant battle for his life, Leo was determined to push forward and find his remaining family. Even if it meant sacrificing what was left of his humanity. After all, you either adapt or die. Story of progression and evolution with my take at the post-apocalyptic genre. Unlike most monster evolution stories where the monster rushes to gain human form, here I plan to do something quite the opposite. After all, in a world where almost everything wants to kill you, being human can be hard. Warnings are here to give me the freedom to write whatever is necessary. This is my first original novel. Also English isn't my native language so any feedback is welcome. Remember that even if initially this story takes place on Earth, fictional places, streets, etc will appear. In my world, there are only idiots who know nothing of the true workings of the world. They only see what is shown to them, only accepting and not questioning anything. From birth I saw everything, nothing could escape my sight. However, the heavens made me a cripple, they put me in the shadows and I can’t help but yearn for the light. Why am I still of the living then? Well, Why should I give the Heavens the satisfaction of seeing me give up? I will not submit to the heavens nor will I submit to the bastards that wish to use me. All I can do now is continue to rebel against everything. All I can do is continue to battle the Heavens in my heart. I shall carve out a new path for all those like me, a path that will go against the very constitution of this world. How will I do this? I do not know. P.S - I started Path of Blood about a year ago so the first fifteen chapters have some problems character wise however I'm currently working with an editor to remedy these to make the story a better read. Anyway, these issues don't last long and since Pob is a story that rewards the patient, only those who've read till the latest will understand how good the story really is....I designed it to get better with every ark, surprises planned at every corner and the eventual ending of Pob will definitely not dissapoint, so stick around and give it a chance. :D
