3rd person point of view:
"That's it. We don't have much a plan. I'm afraid that there's nothing left for us to do... We may just have to surrender," Laff sighed as he said this.
"Really Laff? Nothing we can do? I understand that this seems hopeless but we've been fighting for so many years; just to give up here?" Julio was disappointed.
"You saw their army, right? It was like 5x ours. And they took out so many of our soldiers; we're not winning this," he said harshly, obviously not happy knowing that they had to give up after all this time.
"Maybe you're right..."
The rest of the march was quiet; nobody daring to speak after what'd just happened. Many lost friends, and lots lost families in a span of only minutes. It was like a reminder to them; war isn't pretty.
After a small while they'd stopped marching and set up camp while Laff, Julio, and others were speaking about a plan. But... They didn't really have one. There was no way out of this, and they all knew that. The already lost so many, there was no point in trying, right?
"That's it. I'm aware that our entire kingdom in depending on us for this, but we simply can't do it. We haven't any allies that can help us here. Maybe it's best to surrender at this point," Julio suggested, siding with what Laff had said earlier.
"You know what....." Laff began, everyone expecting him agree, "We can't. One last fight is all it takes, right? If we all go down, we go down fighting. Prepare those men and women for the morning! We leave at sunrise."
They were all shocked but agreed, leaving the meeting tent to head of to bed. Today had been longer than it should've been. Each one of them knowing that tomorrow was the day that they'd probably die didn't exactly help with sleep.

-Let's switch to Joocie for a second, shall we?-
Did I hear that right? I know that spying on the king isn't exactly the right thing to do- but I didn't mean to... I was just.... Ok, if I'm being honest, I completely forgot why I was up at the moment. But still! Maybe we are all dying tomorrow.... But I guess it's like Laff said, if we go down, then we go down fighting.
I obviously wasn't paying attention at this moment.... A few people had walked past me and given me weird looks, but I didn't think anything of it at the moment. That was, until Laff walked out.
"Joocie? What're you doing up? I instructed you to go sleep in tent C," he said in a stressed tone.
"Oh- uhm- I don't actually know, I was just walking around then I heard you guys..."
"Rest now. You've probably heard what we're doing tomorrow and you won't get much sleep if you don't leave now."
"Uh-- yes sir..."
That was kind of awkward... I thought as I walked off to find whatever tent I was staying in for the night.
