My olive green towel wrapped around my body, I scurried into my cool bedroom and over to my closet. I removed my towel, allowing the plush material to fall to my feet.
The morning sun shinned into my window; a beautiful view to watch as I slipped on my bra and underwear.
I looked at myself in full body mirror, my eyes roaming over my frame, acknowledging my leopard print panty set. I pulled a pair of black yoga pants and a graphic T-shirt from the bottom dresser drawer before I slipped them on.
After putting on my sneakers, I knotted a French braid into my hair before I snatched up my phone and skipped down the steps.
The kitchen was quiet, well except for my rumbling stomach that begged me to consume something.
The cabinets screeched open. Inside, were a few half empty boxes of cereals and oatmeal. Deciding to skip the hot breakfast and the time to make it, I pulled a box of lucky charms.
Reading the back of the cardboard box, I examined the children games as I pulled a carton of milk and a bowl and spoon.
I sat at the kitchen island. Cereal drizzled into the clean bowl followed by the milk. Without any hesitation, I stuffed a spoon full of charms into my mouth.
"Good morning?" My privacy was interrupted. I looked into the eyes of Beta Allen.
"Oh Good morning?" I pulled a napkin from the holder and wiped my mouth of any milk.
"Sorry to intrude." A charming smile crossed his lips before he reached for the box. "Is there anymore left?"
He shook the box to reveal maybe a handful of charms. Not enough for even half a bowl.
"Well I guess I'm eating Cheerios." He shot me a cheek-reddening wink.

He pulled a bowl from the cabinet and sat it on the island just across from me. He pulled a spoon from the drawer and stuck it between his lips. I shifted in my seat once he stood just inches across from me.
"So, are you enjoying it here yet?" He took in a mouth full out of cereal.
"Of course, I just love waking up at the crack of dawn every other day to train for hours." Sarcasm clearly laced in my voice.
He cracked a quick smile at me.
"You're funny. So what is your story?"
"My story?" I leaned forward.
"Yeah. I mean, you are part of this pack and I know almost nothing about you. So give me something."
"My story. Well I'm a college girl who lives with my parents in the wonderful city. However, my father managed to get me into some mess that involved me spending my free time here."
"Oh." He could obviously pick up on my irritation about the situation. "I do apologize for your situation. I assure you, if it was up to me, you would be home sleeping until noon."
"Thanks." I began to wish it was up to him. I looked at nearly empty bowl as I watched the few pieces of cereal twirl around in the milk.
"Being here isn't that bad though. It has its perks at times."
"Maybe you're right." I had to admit, he was sort of right. There have been people here like Brittany, Angela, him and other pack members who have treated me very good since I've been here.
"Why must you be so right?" My face scrunched up in a playful manner.
"I'm always right." A spark seemed to shine from behind his eyes. His eyes. It was great to see eyes that painted and flashed a picture besides coldness. "You're a cute and funny girl."

A blush seemed to ignite across my cheeks. I lowered my head to hide my face from him.
"Too bad you're off limits." He picked up his bowl and left the kitchen before another word could be exchanged.
That smile I had painted across my face was now replaced with a dumbfounded look.
"Off limits?" I whispered under my breath.
What the fuck does he mean off limits???!!
My facial expression read shock and uncertainty due to the information I had just received. Off Limits? I repeated the words in whisper before someone walked in. Angela. I received a good look into her bright blues gems that hid behind her oval glasses right before she lowered her head.
"Cheerios?" I slid the box Allen had left across the counter top.
She nodded; her face had brightened with a smile before she reached into the cabinet for utensils.
"I'm sorry." She slid into the stool across from me.
"For what? There's no need to apologize."
"For not telling you that Xavier was my brother. I just wanted to socialize with someone who didn't take pity on me or used to me get closer to my brother." Her eyes had shifted toward the open patio doors.
"Look, I understand but believe me, I don't want to get closer to him, and he's crazy." I assured her. "But I wouldn't want you to feel that way. You are cool Angela so don't ever think I need as some sort of leverage."
"Thanks." Her blues eyes lit up like fireworks as a smile crossed her face.
"Angela, I have a question?"
She placed a spoon full of cereal in to her mouth as she nodded her head for me to speak.
"Have you heard anything about me being 'off limits'?" I asked.
"Oh, yeah." She said without a care. As if it was a usual.
"What? What does that mean?" I shifted toward her.
"Well, most of us were informed that you were unapproachable." She took in a spoonful of cereal. "Some of the males were a little discouraged about that."
"What the hell? But...why? By who?"
"Why? That I do not know. By who? By the only person who could give such an order. My brother Xavier."
If my emotions were not already on the brink of sending me to confinement, now they were going to land me on an episode of my favorite show 'Snapped'.
How the fuck dare he put me here. Off limits? Unapproachable? Made me an animal behind a cage?
Why? Was this about the party I invited his sister to attend? I would have assumed our....altercation would have put that to rest.
I guess I was mistaken.
"Okay." I rose from my chair. "I will be right back."
"Wait, where are you going?"
"I have a big bad wolf to speak to!"...
