《Welcome To Demon School! Ryūko-chan & Iruma-kun [Volume I]》Chapter XIV [The Battlers' Presentation]

Inside Sullivan's mansion in the brink of dusk, the phone rings and Opera picked it up to be talking with Sullivan. "You can't come home?" Asked Opera. "Yeah..." Replied Sullivan, still in jail, "They're saying that I illegally entered the human world. I'm being questioned by Demon Border Control right now." "I see. So, how long is your sentence?" Asked Opera. " They're just questioning me!" Shouted Sullivan. Opera then asked if this was a false accusation, Sullivan told him yes, but whispering not that authorities will even figure out that he actually did cross into the human world to pick up Ryūko and Iruma. "You just confessed to the crime." Countered Opera. "Anyway... Something is definately off here." Whispered Sullivan, "I'm sure Ryūko-chan and Iruma-kun are so worried about me that they can't even eat."
However, the stacks of empty plates from Iruma's food said otherwise; Ryūko already cleaned her plates on her own, not that she needed to rely on Opera for it and the fact that she is already quite independant. "They're currently... playing their after-dinner games." Said Opera, "And suprisingly, Ryūko-sama is able to study her book at the same time because of having her other Arachne eyes." "" Exclaimed Sullivan, " Make sure Ryūko-chan and Iruma-kun don't stay up too late and keep warm! Oh, and make sure to read them a bedtime story! Also, be sure to tell them that I love them very much even though we're so far apart." "Of course." Ended Opera.
Ryūko paused the game, put down her Pharmaceutics textbook and turned her head to the cat demon. "Grandfather has yet to return home?" Asked Ryūko. "He won't be back for a while because something came up, but he says there's nothing to worry about." "I see. I just hope he'll be able to be back in time for the Battler party." Said Ryūko before she resumed the game and picked her book in her left hand while her right hand's fingers tap on the control's buttons. She was able to beat Iruma's game character in a mere minute. The television screen indicated Iruma's loss.
"Onē-chan, not only can you study while doing other things at the same time, but you're still quite merciless in video games." Commented Iruma. "I apologise for that. Do you wish for me to go easy on you?" Asked Ryūko. "No need!" Said Iruma, "I-I'll win against you eventually! I think..." "Hahaha. Okay then." Replied Ryūko, "As they say in the United States of America, "break a leg"." "Wait, I literally break a leg?!" Asked Iruma. "No, no. It's just an idiom that means "good luck"." Corrected Ryūko.
With the demon version of Parents' Day, the Battler Party, a few days away... The first-year at the demon school Babyls are very nervous. The Misfit Class was no exception. "You lot need to calm down." Said Kalego to his students, but they're far to nervous. "But our parents are going to be here!" Freaked out Lead. "I'm very nervous." Said Goemon. "Both of my parents are coming..." Added Lead. "My big bro will be here." Said Jazz. "What about you, Keroli-chan?" Asked Elizabetta. "My parents are a bit busy, but Grammy said she'd come." Replied Keroli. "Oh, how lovely." Complimented Elizabetta. "Eggy-sensei! Nervous, nervous! Nervous, nervous!" Said Clara.
"Family?" Thought Iruma. Ryūko then shared the same thoughts with him, though being the addition of her hatred for humans (of course, excluding Iruma): "Back in the human realm, Iruma and I never actually had any chances of attending secondary academy. And as if out so-called parents even cared to attens Parent's Day in such a useless realm of pure humans that will cast aside pity for others and only care for themselves. They, real humans, might be nice people, but for sure they hide something vile behind every one of their masks of kindness. How disgusting." How can someone like her have such an intense and dark hatred for humanity? Since her parents left her and Iruma to do most of the work (simply because they refuse to themselves) and even abandoned them, Ryūko hating her parents completely means hating humans as well. She belives that humans are hypocrites, who seem nice and kind on the outside, but hid their true selfishness and cruelty that will eventually be revealled. Even some casting aside their own children and some taken advantage of or for granted. "I wonder how it feels like to have your family come see you at school." Thought Iruma, eventually getting nervous too.

"Hey, hey! My family's coming too!" Said Clara excitedly, "There's Daddy, Mommy, U-chan, Keebow, Konchie, Sin Sin, Ran Ran, and... And, and, there's a lot more!" "" Questioned Amsodeus before whispering to Lavande, "Let's make sure they stay away that day, Félin-sama." Lavande just shrugged, not sure about the Valac household's personality being the same or possibly having an odd one out. "Perhaps tgey may be the same or even have someone that defies the rest." Said Lavande. "My older sister's supposed to come, too, but I'm not sure whether she'll make it." Said Lead to Goemon and Jazz. "What are you even worried about?" Asked Jazz. Lead told him that his sister is really lazy. Ryūko walked over to Sabnock for a question in regards to family. "So, whom do you await on the day, Demon King?" Asked Ryūko in her usual monotone and serene voice. "My little sister, Sylvia, will be coming." Replied Sabnock, happy that Ryūko asked that (though a lot more happy that she called him Demon King). To gather his students' attention, he slammed the bottom edge of his class book on the teacher's desk. ". You fools should be preparing so you don't embarrass yourselves in front of your families." Said Kalego, "Also, those of you who will be staying overnight we need to get permission forms." "Yes, Sir." Replied most of the class. "Of course, Kalego-sensei." Bowed Ryūko.
Suddenly, the classroom door swinged open, revealling Momonoki, one of Kalego's colleagues. "Kalego-sensei. Could you come to the Chair-demon's office?" Asked Momonoki.
In Sullivan's office, a small meeting was held by eight teachers, including Kalego. "The Chair-Demon was taken in by Demon Border Control?" Asked Kalego. "Yes. We heard from the Chair-Demon himself." Replied Momonoki. "What did he say?" Asked Kalego.
Here's what Sullivan told the teachers on the phone while playing chess with on of the Demon Border Control members: "I think it's going to take a while for this whole misunderstanding to blow over, so let's have Kalego-kun take over for me in my absence." Well, that certainly irritated the said teacher. "" Inwardly growled Kalego, "" Robin looked up to Kalego (his senpai) with admiration praising: "Wow, Kalego-sensei! Of course he's pick you to take his place! Oh, but what are they even saying the Chair-Demon did?!" "Yis... This must be some kind of mistake." Said Suzie. "Right? Right? I bet Demon Border Control did some half-assed investigation and took him om false charges!" Said Robin invading Kalego's personal space. "No, I highly doubt that's the case." Said Kalego, "They're holding one of the , Chair-Demon Sullivan. I'm sure they must have a valid reason." "They have a valid reason, but not enough evidence to arrest him." Added another teacher, "Is that what you're saying?" "But if they don't have enough evidence, why did they detain him now?" Asked Kalego mentally before Robin invaded his personal space.
"Kalego-sensei! No, Acting Chair-Demon! What could this possibly-"
Kalego pushed Robin out of his way before thinking again. "Something's not right." Thought Kalego, then turnibg to his colleagues, "As where we go from here, let us prepare for the worst. Keep your guard up the Battler Party. Especially you teachers." As all the other teachers responded in approval, Momonoki inwardly swooned: "Kalego-sensei is already being so dignified as the acting Chair-Demon." But here goes Robin being a nuisance to Kalego as he told him that he'll have his back, while still calling him "Acting Chair-Demon". "" Threatened Kalego. "You got it, Acting Chair-Demon!" Replied Robin not listening to what Kalego just said. The prestigious teacher didn't punish him for nothing, but it must have been painful, judging by Robin's scream.

Ryūko, Iruma, Asmodeus, Lavande and Clara were all sitting seiza-style inside the Magical Apparatus Room. Asmodeus was distracting Clara with a pink cat stick toy. Lavande knew that both of her parents are able to come and see her at the Battler Party, but wondered whether Asmodeus had any of his family members attending. She knew him since they were kids, because their parents are friends with each other and they introduced their kids. She alsi knows about his younger tein sisters, Asmodeus Biore and Asmodeus Lily "Sir Asmodeus, is anyone of your house coming to the Battler Party?" Asked Lavande. He threw the cat toy behind him for Clara to go after before her happily turned to the lady knight. "Ah, yes. My mother is trying to come... ." "Pardon me?" Asked Lavande. "She will be stopped." Said Asmodeus. "I see. Your mother is very doting towards you still, after all these years..." Sighed Lavande. "Huh? You two know each other's families?" Asked Iruma. "Indeed. Our parents are very good friends with each other and they even introduced us when we were still children." Said Asmodeus.
Kiriwo came to sit with everyone else (next to Ryūko, to be specific), which made Ryūko secretly happy to see him around. "How nice. I miss the ol' Battler Party." Said Kiriwo. "Did your parents show up for yours, Kiriwo-senpai?" Asked Iruma. "My parents didn't come." Replied Kiriwo, "My senpai for the MagicApp Battler showed up. He's sort of like... my guardian." "Likely to be more of your guardian?" Asked Ryūko. "Well, you know. I don't have much magic." Replied the upperclassman, "Apparently, that really disappointed my parents. Things haven't been going well with them to be honest."
"Amy-senpai..."
"We knew our lack of magic was similar, but we didn't know we were alike in that way too." Thought Ryūko and Iruma. The female honor student clenched her fists and shut her eyes tightly, but if can see close enough, she was holding back her tears. She felt the past scars and burdens both from herself and Kiriwo. Clara wagged the pink cat toy in front of Kiriwo's face in attempt to cheer him up. "Cheer up, Kiriyan-senpai!" Said Clara. "Stop that. You're the only one who cheers up that way." Said Asmodeus before noticing the sadden expression on Ryūko, though she's facing the ground, "Ryūko-sama?"
She suddenly went to the nearest person who might be able to comfort her. Ryūko thought Lavande would be around her side, but she ended up wrapping her arms around Kiriwo with her face buried on his shoulder. Iruma, Asmodeus and Lavande were shocked to see her do something like that all the sudden. Clara was still wagging the cat toy in front of Kiriwo's face, who suprisingly played along and not noticing Ryūko's face on his right shoulder. "Sorry for talking about something so dreary." Apologised Kiriwo, "My Senpai's such a great person, though. He still gives me advice often..." He then thought why was his right side much warmer than his left. Kiriwo turned his head to his right and saw Ryūko hugging his side and face on his shoulder. "Iruma-kun, is it normal for Ryūko-chan to be like this?" Asked Kiriwo. "Usually she's very cold, quiet and verbally superior, but she's also pretty sensitive at times." Replied Iruma, "Maybe because of what you said, being similar to what we both had back in the past." Kiriwo looked at the girl again, this time blushing a little bit from seeing such a cold person be so emotional about something. He gently stroked on Ryūko's back to try and comfort her as much as possible. Ryūko looked up to see the person comforting her and immediately flustered when she saw Kiriwo and not Lavande being to one to comfort her. She pulled away in suprise and embarrassment as her face darken to scarlet red. "I-I-I apologise, Amy-senpai! Th-That was quite bold of me and to think I was comforted by an upperclassman instead of Lavande!" Stammered Ryūko. Kiriwo just laughed and told her that she has nothing to worry about, which somehow made her heart flutter like a butterfly.
A ringtone from Kiriwo's hellphone rang up and he took out his phone. "Well, speak of the devil. He's calling me right now." Said Kiriwo. The one second he answered the call, a loud voice immediately boomed from the phone. "" Yelled Kiriwo's senior. Lavande and Clara really couldn't stand how loud that was. As an animalistic demon, Lavande's cat ears are more sensitive than typical human and demon ears. It's no suprise that she and Clara felt as if their ears were going to burst. "My bad, bro. Oh, some new members have joined." Replied Kiriwo, "You got it. Bye." After the call, Kiriwo turned to his Battler friends and said: "Sorry 'bout that. Why don't we all go get ready?" Everyone agreed.
"He was mad because I haven't made preparations yet." Explained Kiriwo, "He can be pretty intense sometimes." "I hear you." Commented Ryūko, "He was really loud earlier and I thought my eardrums were going to burst." "Look! They're all getting ready!" Said Clara.
Ryūko, Iruma and her friends helped Kiriwo pull out a cart loaded with magical apparatuses to where they're suppose to go somewhere at the school grounds. There, lots of Battler were in preparation and setting for the big day. "Wow, everyone seems really pumped." Said Iruma. "Right? The Battler that gives the best presentation gets a prize." Said Kiriwo, "The members might evwn go up a rank." The most flashy Battler were the Magic Beast Battler, preswnring a circus and the New Magic Battler with something suspicious, but gets Iruma curious. The only Battler that facinated Clara and Camui (who was just flying by) was the Succubus Battler. That's not anything shocking, since Clara hasn't given up on being more sexy and Camui is such a pervert. Ryūko just straight on kicked the owl's face, sending him flying off to somewhere. "Biàntài, zhè shì méiyǒu bànfǎ de." Sighed Ryūko in Chinese.
[Chinese Pinyin:
"No way you're going to do that, you pervert."]
"All the Battlers are so flashy!" Said Iruma. "Right. We can't let them get ahead of us." Said Kiriwo, "Let's make ours stand out!" Everyone in this Battler is ready to give this party their all. But there's a problem: the space give for their Battler was . So small in fact, Kiriwo coughed out blood from the sight of it. Ryūko checked on Kiriwo while Clara, Asmodeus and Lavande comment on their given space. "So tiny!" Said Clara. "We don't even have a fifth of the space the other groups have." Said Asmodeus and Lavande. The knight was very unsatisfied with this result and her tail flicked around in irritation. "It's even smaller than last year's..." Said Kiriwo. Two male students happened to spot their Battler. "Hey, Storage Battler!" Mocked one of them. "Guess you're just storage space again this year." Said the other. "Keep it up!" Mocked both of them as they walk away.
Ryūko growled in irritation and was clearly unhappy with her upperclassman being bullied by others that her mulitple eyes, razor sharp fangs, and exoskeletal carapaces changed her normal appearance. She leaped right in front of the students from earlier, they were clearly scared of her spider appearance and walked towards them with a menacing glare. She stopped walking when she reached the right distance: up close and in personal. "" Intimidated Ryūko, "" She was a lot scarier than ever, perfecting the art of intimidation as an Arachne in development. The male students nodded while shivering and going white in fear before they ran away, calling for someone to save them. Some of the other Battlers saw that scene as well and were shocked by how scary the female honor student can be if you mess with her friends or even her brother, because that equals to messing with her in the process. She noticed that a lot of students were staring at her in pure fear before she snapped loudly while cracking her knuckles: "" With that, everyone cowardly went back to their Battlers as she transformed back to normal before walking back to the Magical Apparatus Battler. Lavande and Asmodeus fawned of pure admiration over Ryūko's intimidation skills, Iruma and Clara's jaw dropped from the horror, and Kiriwo just wasn't sure how to react, but he blushed from how brave she is in standing up for weaker upperclassmen. His eyes sparkled from her flawless intimidation techniques and precised vocals, clearly this was a girl he fell in love with at first sight.

Wulfgard: The Hunt Never Ends
In the civilized world of humans, 'monsters' have all but passed into legend. But when something goes bump in the night, when people begin to disappear, when a dark mystery begins to haunt even the most peaceful villages, there is only one organization to turn to: the Hunters. The Venatori. Having lived a life of discipline and service, former soldier Caiden Voros finds something even worse than the wars of humans: the monsters that hunt them. Horrors yet unknown even to him and his many scars await in the claws, talons, fangs, and mysterious powers of creatures so far beyond humans that he must dedicate himself entirely to the art of slaying them. Harboring a secret of his own and in a constant struggle to find answers while maintaining his sanity, however, Caiden begins to ask the age-old question... Who is truly worse, the monsters or the Men? Wulfgard: The Hunt Never Ends is an episodic collection of stories, each of which stand on its own, but they also build upon each other in a consecutive order, bridging a gap between a novel and short story collection. These stories follow monster hunter Caiden Voros and his partner Gwen Vergil as they embark on tales of mystery, horror, and adventure to track down monsters - the living dead, beast-men, shape-shifters, spirits, and many more - that would do harm to innocent lives and, by whatever means necessary, put a stop to their terrors. Their motives, however, are not always what they seem.

[Archive] Legend of the Nameless Hero
A WhiteSamurai original Web Novel There are always the mysterious tales of heroes, those who fight against the Demons, who fight for justice and those who head mighty quests against tyranny. Heroes that are born to destiny, Heroes that are forged through tragedy, and Heroes that are brought to the world in times of great peril and strife. Not all true Heroes are wanted or beloved, but all life understands, that throughout all time and space, for those who truly stand as Heroes, they never need to be called one. The sands of time are the only true judge for those who journey upon the true path, the only one they will ever need. This is the tale, no, the Legend, the Legend of the one who throughout all time, would forever be, the First Hero. This is Their story, a story of true hardship, of a sorrow greater than any other that would stand as a symbol of inspiration no matter the test of time. A tale of darkness, a true curse, an impending evil hidden beyond the horizons that threatened the very future of existence. This is the tale, of one of the few great figures, who, in the face of true evil, continued to stand. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :Disclaimer: _______________________________________________________________ . . . All Chapters are subject to sudden revision, scrapping, or complete removal from the canonical storyline. The author of "Legend of the Nameless Hero" uses RoyalRoad as a method of experimentation with genre's and writing styles for Fantasy-style works for the sake of eventual publication. The end result isn't to release perfect chapters on RoyalRoadl, but eventually develop the story as intended using the best material to produce the highest quality work. The best mentality when reading works from WhiteSamurai is to see it as the ability to read and review pre-release transcripts or "Rough Copies" before publication. Viewer discretion and maturity are both requested and required. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :About: _______________________________________________________________ . . . This story follows direct character point of views along with an intentional third person narrative to explain to the readers what the characters won't. (I don't use my characters to go give extensive explanations for every last thing like EVERYTHING DOES) This tale shall encompass the life of the Hero from the moment she is summoned into the Kingdom of Kremor, to the Legendary Final Clash. This isn't your run of the mill hack and slash raise an army and conquer, I don't follow that bandwagon. Real life holds politics, intrigue, economics, structure, populations, civil opinions, history, psychology, heart, suffering, wonder, advancement, curiosity, ambition, and so many more things that would lead to me hitting some character limit. I refuse to take the same route that others use by simply ignoring these factors, my worlds, my stories, are as real as they get. There's no plot armor here, if someone screws up, they've screwed up and there's no magical sword in a well for them. I write in 'Seasons' not 'Books' as many often do, these are generally, not always, hundreds of chapters long, though as I have yet to finish a season, the average length is in the air. I go by an ideal of what I call 'Universal Lore' which includes the policy that things that exist within the story don't follow the rule where the Protagonist needs to be there so that it will happen. There will be some things that will happen, and the hero, and sometimes the reader, won't know happened until they enter a place, or news gets to them. A person needs to be in the right place at the right time, I hate plot holes and meta characters above all else... For my works, comments are practically demanded as reactions, thoughts, and various viewpoints are like sweet fuel to my writing spirit. Reviews are highly accepted and appreciated, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE EDUCATED AND THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED. Those that throw down a low rating ARE HIGHLY REQUESTED to extensively detail and explain their viewpoints on the work. They should also be willing to come back to the work at a later date if messaged by the Author, Me, due to issues they mentioned being taken care of. I'm never against scrapping a chapter or rewriting several paragraphs if there are character or story discrepancies. I want the highest quality work possible, and every comment, every review, are tools for me to use to further that goal. . . . Enjoy the work. ~White Status: (Ongoing)
